	A very vigorous and tropical passion vine commonly known as the Barbadine or Giant Granadilla with  purplish ruby pink blooms and bearing huge oval yellow fruit. The glowing Passion Flowers of Giant Granadilla, with the radial explosion of purple filaments, are  spectacular. The aroma of the flower is awesome! A heady fragrance fills the air when in flower. This vine produces extra  large yellow tropical fruit like footballs. The Giant Granadilla flower are among the most beautiful passion flowers anywhere. A fast growing vine arising from a thick fleshy root that enlarges with age. Giant Granadilla produces large showy flowers  with red petals and the purple and white rays. Fruits of the giant granadilla are huge, reaching of up to 15 inches in length and turning yellow when ripe.  The pulp around the seeds is used to flavor ice cream and to make a cooling drink. In addition, the flesh of Giant Granadilla fruit is delicious. The immature green fruits can be  boiled and eaten as a vegetable. The fully ripe flesh is eaten alone as a crunchy snack with a Lilikoi sweet taste and aroma. The Giant Granadilla grows well over a variety of soil types, does best in more acidtic soils and might  suffer micro-nutrient deficiencies on highly alkaline soils. It benefits from annual pruning to control its size and to produce young juvenile wood  which produces more flowers and potential fruit. The Giant Granadilla passion vine has few pest problems.
	Grown both for its showy flowers and fruit, “Giant Granadilla” is the  largest fruiting passion flower with fruit reaching the size of a football! The ripe fruit turns a golden color and is a sweet edible fleshy treat. The pulp is used commercially in passion fruit juices.  The large 4-5” flowers have uniquely long twisting purple filaments. In the northern latitudes it tends to be a fall bloomer. The vine is large and  needs support and room to grow. With lots of light, regular watering and moderate fertilizer, Passiflora quadrangularis will flower in under a year and  produce fruit shortly thereafter. Prune only after flowering. Hardy to Zone 10 and higher for outdoors

It takes my wife and I, 2-3 days to pack items and get ready to ship. The whole next day  we drive around the island and get inspected (2-3 hours), then drive to the Airport Post Office to drop off. Do some research before they arrive or seek experienced help.  Small plants need protection from many things, wind, sun, dry-out. They do well just in the garage or living  room. They need good light but not sunlight (full sun will burn small plants). Small pots dry-out easily. Just sitting in a shallow tray of water works  well. The idea is to keep the plants from dehydrating. Be careful if you decide to re-pot.  Re-potting voids any warranty. Plants are easily damaged with new/different mix. Use NO fertilizers (this may kill your plants).  Proper care is critical upon arrival. Live Plants are NOT GUARANTEED  to survive under your care. DO NOT expect any live plant to be GUARANTEED to remain alive. Plants are NOT GUARANTEED TO SURVIVE after you begin Care!
