Being offered for sale is this Gorgeous Antique Empire Style Tiger Oak Full Size Sleigh Bed circa 1900. This bed is positively beautiful! If you are a lover of the gorgeous grain of Tiger Oak you will love this bed, for its equally lovely on all sides so could be placed in the center of a room if you would like to .
This bed measures a total height at the head-board of 50 inches, height of the foot-board measures 38 inches, height from the floor to the top of the side rails measures 15 inches. This bed has an outside with of 57 1/2 inches, outside length of 85 inches. The inside mattress area measures 54 3/4 inches wide by 74 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit.The total weight of this bed is approximately 150 lbs.
This antique sleigh bed sets up very solid and tight and features a classic sleigh appearance. This bed is in fabulous antique condition but does have some small veneer chips in a couple of places that I have tried to show some in the close-up pictures...nothing major in my opinion but there and commonly found in these antique pieces. One of the side rails also has some chips to the wood on the inner portion that would be next to the mattress which would not be seen when mattress and bedding are in place.
