Swell Ed, We are up and running now.

The thing is, I woke up at 3:30 am CDT to get an early start on work today - and guess what? NO VENDIO! After about a couple of hours I Googled your phone number and called Customer Support - all representatives were busy (and at that hour!)..so I waited and waited and finally left a message. Not sure the message went through though, so I called again and left another message - this was about at 5 am PDT and yet no one knew about the outage at 7:23??

It isn't a matter of "patience", Ed. I had several items ending this am during the outage. I also lost the opportunity to list in prime time today. Friday is not the same as Thursday in terms of bids etc. Even though I list every day, I depend on Thursdays being my best sales day. Now I can forget about selling European postcards for another week .

I guess what I am trying to say, and saying it badly, is that it wasn't just "an inconvenience" - it hurt us in the wallets. Lost views at auction end translates to no or low sales and the fact that we weren't able to list for several hours translates to lousy sales next week too.

I can be as patient as the next person, but when it hits me in the pocketbook I tend to lose my patience.

I guess we need to know where everyone at Vendio WAS in the wee hours this morning - don't you have engineers watching round the clock to make sure something like this doesn't happen? Can't you monitor page views or image counters (for instance) or site activity and see that things aren't right? How can we have confidence that this kind of thing won't happen again?

We need to trust you guys. I always touted Vendio's reliability when discussions about outside providers arose - can I still do that? This isn't a game - this is real life. Real people depend on their ebay income to pay their rent and feed their real families. One "good" day's of ebay sales can make all the difference in being able to that. Ebay doesn't close - we need Vendio working for us 24/7.

Ed, Diana & the rest of staff @ Vendio!

You really take us for such fools?

Look at all of the people on ebay that posted, and you try to tell us that you did not see a drop in traffic?

As all other posters point out, it is time to stop the typical lying we have been getting for years.

I challenge you - put up on the front page a link for everybody to vote whether they had any interruption today, and then we will see whether there was a drop in traffic.

I had 13 people try all over (in many states as well as in Canada), & only 2 were able to get on. You couldn't see that?

We might seem stupid by sticking with you, but we are not all that stupid.

It is time that you come clean.

In addition why has this happened a few times? You guys went home last night before checking the system (after the maintenance)?

How about some real answers?

I am glad to hear that VD says just a few that were affected and traffic was great.
Here in NC -- it was NO PHOTOS On my auctions almost all day I am glad that most had no problems and traffic was great.

However I can only count my money and today I lost!

There was no problem I guess for VD and traffic was terrific.
Only a few affected, life is grand !
It was my own personal problem just with my auctions, just moi

Good day

yeah and assuring us it wasn't a wide-spread problem is no comfort. Did you think sellers would say "thank god it's just me (a several, several others)"? Be real. To the ones affected by the problem it was a BIG ISSUE!!

Doing a quick count, I see on the various boards about 30 sellers talking about the outage, and about 5 that were not having it (though customers of theirs could not see the pictures).

And Vendio says "no significant drop in traffic"!

Have you guys ever considered comedy?

Hello,

Thank you for posting. We are looking into this and checking to see if our ISP is having problems. Please be aware that this is not affecting everyone, but only people in certain locations. We hope to have this resolved shortly.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan!

For your benefit, here is a message from Neglus (on the ebay board). I suggest that you guys visit it.
-------------------------------
Tabletop - thanks for the update. Please let Nathan know that IF we could get on the (expletive deleted) site we would tell him about the outage. Minnesota here (not Europe, Canada, OR East Coast).

I can't believe it!

Nathan!

How about answering 2die4fashion?

Her is his post from the ebay board:

---------------------------------------------

Please ask Vendio why this is happening to us AGAIN?

My guess is they went in and played with more of the knobs, and didn't warn anyone about it.

My day and my wifes day of work has been completely wasted by Vendio. Not to metion how much money I have lost becuase of them.

Hello everyone,

The problem with our main ISP that was experienced earlier in the day unfortunately reoccurred starting at about 5:30 pm PDT. This forced us to have to reboot our router again, but it appears that the reboot has resolved the issue. We are continuing to work with our ISP to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Thank you again for your patience.

Best regards,

Diana

Just wanted to add a note that the reboot has cleared most routes, but there may be some remaining issues for the next 15 minutes or so for a very small percentage of users.

Thanks,

Diana

I am back in for the second time from Vendio being down today. I was told by Vendio that everything was working, so I started relisting items, and you went down again!

I have lost real time, real money, and lost real sales because of your inability to provide a service that I pay you for.

You are responsible for that lost time and money.

What are you going to do about it?

Vendio - I'm sorry that the CS reps are taking the heat. Everyone makes mistakes and this problem in updates has had MAJOR setbacks in your customers' revenues. Put whatever spin you want to in order to minimize the situation - it was wide spread- affected all of your hostees, lasted about 1 day. In my life experience in the corporate world, this would result in the dismissal of a VP. We need to know that whatever incompetence led to this fiasco will not happen again.

Here we go again!

A new day, and Vendio is screwing us all again!

The effect seems to be the same as all those spots that were out yesterday seem to be again today.

Vendio is the most miserable company around.

Now the clowns @ Vendio will wake up in a few hours and claim about "limited outages".

It is time to teach them all a lesson or two.

Hi Neglus!

Happy to meet on this board!!

We all have to get together and apply some pressure on these clowns.

We all lost money yesterday, and we have not even seen a slight apology.

Hi tabletop - I can't stand it! I have lots of items ending in 4 hours or so - hopefully ALL users will be able to see the images in them so I at least have a shot at selling them.

I am taking the day off (major post card show)
Good luck today!

"REBOOT THE ROUTER"

ummm - is this like sticking the open paperclip in the back of the router after you've cleared your cache and tossed your cookies while on the phone with help in India?

Neglus!

Good luck with the show.

Please confirm that your images are showing now.

Are you aware that someone on the ebay board says that they can't see it?

Hello Tom,

Your account is having a different problem. As I have stated in the other thread I have escalated your problem to our engineers and they are looking in to it. As I have also stated in the other thread, it would be extremely helpful if you could list a test listing directly through eBay and let us know if it is successful. However, if you do not want to list a test listing directly through eBay then it is not necessary that you do so. It would, however, help to resolve your problem faster.

Regards,
Nathan
