I didn't change my preferences! I always use full size images and have no use for (and do not want) the "click to enlarge" feature on my listings - but all of sudden that feature is appearing.

PLEASE fix this ASAP (if there is a way to fix on current auctions I would appreciate it).

I'm getting the same meaningless 'Click . . .' underneath my pics. Along with the unwanted borders around each pic. Just started yesterday.

The feature may not be all that meaningless! There was a suggestion on a discussion on the EO board that Vendio drops a cookie on the users who "Click to Enlarge" our images and actually gets a commission on all purchases made in a 7 day period under the affiliates program. Is this true Vendio?

The border you refer to is actually showing that the image itself is now clickable to the enlargement page.

I definitely DO NOT WANT "Click to enlarge" and I do not want invisible cookies dropped on my customer's computers!

Vendio, we need an explantion. Is this an attempt to place cookies on our potential buyers so you can garnish affiliate fees? I do not want this feature, if I did, I would have specified it under preferences. My customers are expecting a larger picture when they click which they are not getting. Some have reported browser interruption. Take it off immediately!

Its only purpose BESIDES aggravating potential buyers is to promote VD

I manually removed it from my last auction. I will spend the next couple hours doing it on the 50 or so listed with Click to View
which leads people to another page and they have to find their way back to the auction.

I guess this is our Xmas gift -list and then go into the auction and manually fix it the way it should be in the first place.
I have to go fix my yesterday launches. My day is lost, no time for listing.

WHATS NEXT??

Vendio, it is 10 AM PDT and still no response. I am sitting on my thumbs unable to list. I guess I can use the time to manually edit out the click to enlarge that showed up on the 50 items I listed yesterday. Grrrr! You are making me lose money!

Whatever the excuse, and whatever the reason this was done, I want it removed from my auctions.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for posting - this release was intended as an improved interface to provide a convenient way for your buyers to view and scroll through your images. We will pass your comments along to our product manager, and we appreciate the feedback.

Thanks,

Diana

Please make this "improvement" optional - I do NOT WANT this - I provide two full sized images on my listing and that is the way I want it. I do not want them going to another page. In the meantime - please put the system back to the way it was so we can list during this busy holiday season. Even eBay has the brains not to make major changes during this season.

Deur, I suppose a quicker way to "fix" this is to append every listing to read "Please do NOT click on any images. They will not enlarge. Clicking on the images will take you to an unwanted ad for Vendio and Vendio will download cookies to your computer".

A better and more palatable way would be if Global Preferences would be respected.

I want the Click to VIEW off my auctions.

There is no need to click to view , the photos are right in front of them

Even Auctiva, providing FREE services, lets users make "Click to Enlarge" OPTIONAL.

Let me guess - your "Product Manager" is the same lame brain who forced DEALIO on our listings a year ago. Right? This is not right and a LOW BLOW to do this at this time of year. I am crippled! Can't list - do you have a work around?

This is too slimy for eBay to tolerate. Click to enlarge is deceitful, no enlarged image is provided. If this isn't fixed, I will report it to eBay. Edited to add, Now it reads Click to View Image. Did Vendio change this or was I misreading it before?

Hello,

Correct, the link does not read to click to enlarge, rather just to view. The idea being that you could then view all of the images in an easier to scroll through interface, rather than hunting and pecking for images above/below/side of the item description.

The engineering team has heard the feedback on this new feature and working to address it. As soon as we have more information available we will post back to the message center.

If you have any other questions about the Sales Manager or Image Hosting tools please let us know.

Regards,
Christopher

Neglus, you can go and edit Click to view image out of your listing once it's on eBay. What a hassle! The redirection still happens if they click on the image.

To really get rid of the blasted thing, you have to revise in HTML format - and take out this crap (Note that "TRACKING" is right there):
<a class="customlink" href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717.jpg?vvid=54887491&amp;allow_mailing_list=1&amp;allow_track_link=1&amp;track=02393a69b2-bd201&amp;sp=0&amp;vsid=1&amp;vgp=0&amp;vimgs=xmaskidssledtree717.jpg,xmaskidssledtree717z.jpg" target="vIhostEnl"><img class="customimagelink" src="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717.jpg" alt="Image Hosting by Vendio"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to view image</font></a><br>&nbsp;<br>
<a class="customlink" href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717z.jpg?vvid=54887491&amp;allow_mailing_list=1&amp;allow_track_link=1&amp;track=02393a69b2-bd201&amp;sp=0&amp;vsid=1&amp;vgp=0&amp;vimgs=xmaskidssledtree717.jpg,xmaskidssledtree717z.jpg" target="vIhostEnl"><img class="customimagelink" src="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717z.jpg" alt="Image Hosting by Vendio"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to view image</font></a><br>

And replace with this:

<p><center><img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717.jpg><br><br><p><center><img src=http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/neglus/xmaskidssledtree717z.jpg><BR><BR>

I revised this listing the RIGHT way:

It really makes me mad because i opted IN for click to enlarge. I like it for the ads...now I'm infecting people with cookies and losing them if they use IE.

If nothing else, Vendio. Get the Dealio ad off my listings pronto. I don't use Dealio. It puts me in violation of eBay listing policy:

Additional requirements for third-party credits include:

*

The credit may not contain promotional material about additional services or other information about the company. Instead, it should simply identify the service provided by the company.
*

The credit may link only to the third-party company's Web page containing information about the eBay service.
*

The service being credited should only be one that the seller is using within that particular listing.
*

If an image hosting service is used, sellers may display a credit for the image hosting service provider (as long as the credit adheres to the above guidelines).

This is pitiful, we will have to do all this work, just to get back to how it should be!

I have not got anything done today, no listing - just one test list. Been with VD since before it was VD - 1999 .
They could care less.
I do not want to list and then work on it after it launches. I also do not want a cookie trap on my listings nor do I want my visitors diverted to another page.

This is truly sad.

go to your account page here on VD

Partner Promotions
UnWired Buyer - Allow buyers to bid on your auction using their cell phones.
Dealio - Promote the Dealio toolbar in your checkout or image hosting page to earn cash.
Webloyalty - Increase profits and reward customers at no cost to you!

Make sure all the boxes on the Dealio list are unchecked.

This may help.

Hello,

First, there are NO cookies on the enlarged image pages. Nobody is getting any credit for going there nor is anyone being tracked or monitored by going to that page. Period.

Second, we rolled back this change for the time being. All newly listed items will appear as they always have for users that do not use the click to supersize function.

Users that do use the click to supersize will also see it revert back to how it was, and we will be posting an announcement about this new feature in greater detail, after making a few minor functionality tweaks to it.

Our apologies for some of the nasty misinformation that is being spread about regarding this new tool, and we hope to make a few minor tweaks to this so users can take advantage of it shortly if they wish to do so.

Existing auctions will not be changed, but future listing and relisting will appear as it had before (for users that do not supersize their images.)

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Christopher

Hello Beth,

Auctions that are already live will remain as they are currently. Auctions that you list now, or relist now, even if they were setup that way from your posting ads last night or earlier today, would post without the links.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Vendio, I apologize if I contributed to the cookie rumor. It started as a logical question that was not addressed for hours by Vendio. Many of us still can not understand the benefit the change held for Vendio users or the benefit to our customers. Perhaps we jumped to conclusions when we thought this unannounced change in the Christmas season was to benefit Vendio.
