Borillar Interesting that you considered my post a personal attack. I hadn't realized that I may have stooped to your level. I'll try to hold myself to a higher ground in the future.

What you think that was "so rudely commented on" you won't reveal to anyone - that would leave your diatribe open to skepticism.

Now why would you assume that I won't reveal to anyone what I felt was rude in your response? There's really no need for the dramatics Borillar - I thought it was self-evident but of course I'll be happy to reveal it. The parts I have bolded from your statement are mistatements of the truth:

Hello Mybidness and thank you for posting that White House Press release that was passed out to the media just prior to Bush's one-month long vacation. I've heard it on TV and seen it in our local newspaper as well. That puts you and JLPiece into the same class -- the only ones so far to post anything positive about Bush.

You post purposely misleading information in a seeming effort to make yourself look superior. Nevermind the condescending tone. You count on the fact that most people won't take the time to double check your "facts." It is one thing when I see that a person is either only reading one part of an issue/story or is only choosing to present one side of an issue/story. But, when you try to use that same tactic to present untruths about me personally... I understandably would take offense. The fact that the reporter may have used exerts from the Washington Press Release did not make it "the Washington Press Release." Most reporters do have a genuine source for their reports... with the possible exception of Bushwatch.

Did it occur to you that I wasn't the one who posted the parts that you found objectionable? My post pertained to the specific question you asked. I have enough discernment of what I read to ignore the obviously biased parts of reporting whether the reporter is anti or pro Bush. I assume that you are able - although apparently unwilling to do the same.

At no point did I ever say that my only complaint was the method with which Bush obtained his office.

Please show me the link where I have ever claimed that you said that was your only complaint? I do believe that it is the key to your inability to see his good points... or to even spend the time looking for positive press about his presidency.

You think the glass is half empty and I think it's half full. Is it just possible that we're both right? I doubt you're even willing to consider that possibility.

WOW! This sure is a long thread!!! It was very nice to receive a check from the government from our year 2000 taxes. The new tax table is great!! This sure will help out our kids and us. Why is the federal government so big?? What is the difference between a democracy and a republic???? Borillar, I'm actually asking you these questions as I know that you have the correct answers. "Borillar, I'm actually asking you these questions as I know that you have the correct answers."

ontime, why not cut and paste your questions into a new thread? This one is about a different subject.

There are many posters on this thread who really deserve an apology.

Borillar is one of them.

All of RT deserves an apology for trying to wade through this "bloviating" thread and make sense or get any perspective from it. How good of you to notice HJW. Astute as always.

You're probably right about that Helen.

O.K., Borillar I am truly sorry that you can dish it out but you can't take it.

I feel better now.

Smitty, how about we forget the personal insults and take a look at this whole insulting thread, perpertrated by a particular number of bombastic blow hards trying for the honor of being "Hoist by their own Petard?" Have you ever seen such lengthy diatribes that have said so little? I'll warrant that the answer is "NO".... a resounding "NO"....

Succinctly put (which will be a revelation in this thread) Claptrap!

Let's see...this thread was started to give the Republicans a chance to state what they like about the Bush administration. Is that right?

I agree, we should stay on topic.

If anybody chooses to attack me though, I reserve the right to defend myself.

There is nothing insulting about the thread itself. Actually, the insults didn't start until people who didn't like the topic jumped in & started hurling them about.

If you don't like the thread, why not simply pass over it? No law says you have to read & participate in every topic.

First you have to be able to read with understanding, reading alone does not qualify. This thread was not started for the purpose that is purportes. It was started to give the author an opportunity to be snide, mean spirited and if it were oral it would be said that the author was long winded and in love with his own words.

Attacking anyone!....the signifigance of that remark equates to the likes of a single freckle on the face of Ireland.

Speaking of insults... My reading comprehension is quite good, thank you. Basically, Borillar simply asked Republican posters to coherently state *why* they think Bush is the greatest thing since sliced bread (without simply harping on what Clinton did)--and to provide links that would back up those statements.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

My reading comprehension isn't too good.

I didn't understand his question to be for Republicans to state why they thought Bush was the greatest thing since sliced bread , but I gave my opinions only, but unfortunatly couldn't give internet links to back them up, most likely because they were my opinions only.

though I think I gave a link about the plan on reducing taxes, but I think I'm on the ignore thingy with the originator of the thread

As far as apologies, ok I apologize for posting 'Huh?' to a poster, that wasn't a real nice thing to post

You were one of the very few posters who actually posted to the topic of the thread.

I appreciate your apology about the huh remark.

If anybody will read this entire thread, you will find that I was attacked before I even made a comment to the thread. And it got nastier and nastier until someone suggested calling 911 because in the line of "serving",
they fantasized that I had suffered rug burns and needed knee pads.

The fact that this kind of nonsense was ignored by the moderator is inexcusable in my opinion and I believe that this thread is
serving no purpose whatsoever and should be
LOCKED.

I have to go out and will return at 6pm. If at that time I find that I have been insulted again on this thread, I will handle it then.

FINAL STATEMENT FOR THIS THREAD

Republicans are angry, as well that they should be. There is a reason why no republican on here can point to any mainstream material that shows the good things that Bush has done for this country is because he hasn't done any good for this country since he took office.

It's funny how a mere matter of months has turned the tables on the republicans. Last year, republicans could still come into the forums and rail against the "immorality" of Clinton and just how much more moral that republicans were than democrats in general. It didn't matter what facts or real morality there was about the situation, republicans paraded around on their High Horses about how Morally Superior that they were, so smug in their snide remarks on that account. Since the Internet has been around in mainstream culture, anti-Clintonites have prevailed at slamming Democrats against the wall.

Time flies and years go by. Then came the election. The republicans were so desperate to get rid of the Clinton legacy that they knowingly voted for a man with the mind of a twelve year old who represented business concerns that easily placed this country in jeopardy. And when the balance was tipping in favor of Gore, they put on their jackboots and stormed city councils to intimidate them into submission. Fine.

So, now they have their way. But lo and behold, the man that they put into office lived up to every expectation of him. Every policy Bush has made, every change, every bit of legislation pushed through Congress has been nothing that republican voters can be proud of. The campaign promises that he's broken, the outright lies that he's been caught telling, the backstabbing of his supporters, the pay-offs and the proposed legislation to funnel BILLIONS of dollars to his friends in the oil industry behind everyone's backs, the double-dealing of passing legislation on campaign promises but then not passing any funding for them - all of this and much more, the republicans have nothing to be proud of. No, not one thing.

To make it worse for them, the much-hated Clinton goes around in the media and gets rock-star treatment where he goes by adoring crowds and fans line up for seven hours straight just to be the first to get the new Clinton trading cards. Americans everywhere are angry at Bush and the GOP. Leaders of powerful nations around the world (yes, we aren't the only one - just the biggest) band together in pacts against America because of Bush and the GOP ideas about how the world should work in their view. In some parts of America, there is the smell of a real rebellion brewing and it's not from the fringes of society either. The republicans in our government have precipitated a crisis in our economy that can only be described as the raping and pillaging of our taxpayer dollars so outright that it shows their complete distain for the American citizen. So the American voter is outraged and keeps talking about Clinton running for a third term that must wrench republican's guts.

Now, on the Internet everywhere, not just here, republicans can no longer sit on their High Horses and parade around like they have for years. No longer can republican posters take the High Road and play the Morality Card on everyone. No, Bush has removed that from them and now things are reversed. And they can't take it and blame it on anti-Bush posters. After years of abuse from them, I won't shed a tear for their defense.

Republican anger really lies with Bush, not with we who post here. It is not we who post against the open corruption of the Bush administration and this republican Congress who have driven republicans away from the Round Table, but we are getting the blame for it. If Bush had done anything for people instead of the terrible things that he's guilty of doing against people, if he had only kept his campaign promises, if only he had funded his campaign pledge about school reform, and so forth, then republicans would have plenty of things to point to be proud of and to rail at Democrats and Independents alike and this board would be full of pompous republicans continuing to tout their superior positions from their High Horses.

As for me, I am here to stay. I really could not care less when republican posters cry about my opinions of their leaders or facts that I post links to. It would not matter to me if every single person of every stripe in the Round Table slammed as hard as the moderators would allow them to each and every time that I posted in here, because the truth is, is that the more that they do it proves just how close to home I get. It tells me that what I am saying is getting through and touching the right nerves and eliciting a response. And it's going to stay that way until Bush decides to repent and rollback his rollbacks of the Clinton initiatives that were good for this nation of people, fulfill his campaign promises, stop lying to us, and overall begin acting in this country's best interest. Since it'll be really chilly down below before that happens, all that he can do to please me is to resign just like Nixon did.

I agree that this thread is dead. Not a single republican came forward and agreed that they could not point to anything to be proud of about Bush. Instead, they keep trying to ride that tired old horse and reminisce about the Good Old Days when they shone in the sun.

MODERATOR: this thread is dead. As the originator of this thread, may we please have it locked?
