Zilvy I really like this one. LOL "As a chocoholic, I am on my own version of a 12 step program - I'm never more than 12 steps away from some chocolate." Now that is my kind of program. LOL haha
Okay Gravid we have to have a serious talk my boy.......Do you want to be overrun with Whale Sightings, because that is what would happen if I set foot on deck in the buff. So I think I will have to stay below on "Nude Wednesdays". They could think I was some kind of beached whale in distress. LOL
Zilvy are bathers formal wear.

Ahoy mateys! I thought I'd just pop in real quick to wish everyone a pleasant evening as I'm off to my berth. I have that, oh so much fun, ultrasound tomorrow morning very early! Wish me luck and hope that they don't push too hard on my poor gall bladder. I won't be in too much for the next few days either as I have that seminar Wed. & Thurs., which is also early in the am. So I guess I'll catch up with everyone over the weekend! TTFN...

Bob - Don't be mean to newbies - Who Stays Up Latest.
Formal is Formal Gentleman wear coats or if you insist those semi-formal abreviated coats the young gentlemen have tried to pass off at Tuxedo.
For ladies formal is anything they say it is including nude if they so declare for the occasion. You can not tell women what to wear. I knew a preacher once tried to tell his ladies what they could wear to Sunday service - what cut how the hat could be shaped or how big. It took him about 10 years to live it down. I would rather be hung by my ankles and skinned than tell a church lady her hat is too big.

Bob, Bob on the good ship WSUTL one must say gunnel or gunwale....not edge, Old Pip!!
That's rather like going to Hounds in England and yelling, "There goes the Son of a B**ch, instead of Tally Ho, the Fox!!"
Gravid definitely wise beyond your years regarding womans apparel...perhaps the younger ones could be formal with a string of pearls and a smile..but I am with Nettak Whale sitings!! Netta~LOL
I've gotta find Pharlap's smiley page! Those are really neat.
Couldn't find the whole banner but here is the inset for our own "Jolly Roger"
Need a cocktail flag...Bob I'll bet you have one somewhere!

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.
Today has been a really sh!tty day all round. I woke up this morning hoping that I had dreamed that one of my all time favourite Aussie Larrikins had died. Shirley Strachan of SkyHooks fame was killed in a helicopter crash yesterday, and I mourn him. Rest in Peace Shirl, and my the music always play.
Then just as you think the day can not get any worse my daughter comes home with some terrible news.
As most of you know my daughter works with children, well they found out today that one of the children has got the Meningococcal virus. This little boy is only 4 and he is on life support and in a very serious way. So whatever you believe in, whether it is prayer, the power of the universe or whatever I would like everyone to think of this little fellow who may not even make it through the night.
Sorry to put a damper on things, I just want to cry. I am worried about this little baby and I am also worried about my daughter. The Health Department came out and gave all the children and Staff medication and information about this deadly thing, and they say that there is little chance that anyone else at the centre will get it, but everyone has to get it from somewhere in the first place for it to spread, so who is to say one of the others can not get it as well.
What a horrible day.

Dear {{{{Nettak}}}}certainly not the best of days for you. But, there are bunches of us keeping positive thoughts for you, the little boy and all the others. How wonderful you are able to garner that kind of support with just a few key strokes. Be well, be comforted, we care.
Being selfish, we need your cheery self back at WSUTL!

So sorry you have something to dread like that, with nothing you can actively DO to help. From what I just read the kids are more at risk than the adults so your daughter should be fairly safe. Keep talking to us we do care.

Thank you Bob, Zilvy & Gravid I appreciate the hugs and good thoughts. I haven't heard yet this morning what is happening with little Mitchell, but I will let you know when I find out.
Yes you are right Gravid, this this does affect little children the worst but it also is very deadly to young adults as well, and my daughter is only 18 and she already has a serious illness to deal with, and I know I get paranoid about her health but I can not help it, she is my daughter and I worry about her.
Now on to other things, Pharlap, if you are going to the show today(because I know it is Gold Coast show holiday today), I want a waffle (full of fresh cream), and I want a bag of fairy floss and I want a show bag ( a really good one full of all sorts of junk). Sorry just can't help myself, I am just a big kid at heart.
Oh and I very nearly forgot the big strawberry ice cream. Yummo.

Here we go again Nettak, fairy floss, I'll bet that is the spun sugar that we call cotton candy? Do you think that is right? Strawberry ice cream my all time little girl favorite...especially with big chunks of strawberries frozen solid in the mix!!
Let's go to the next fair together and eat our way from one end to the other!! Then we can do that Alka Seltzer thingy (like Pharlap calls it)

Hi everyone!
Nettak - I too was very upset to hear about 'Shirl'. The Skyhooks were one of my earliest musical memories growing up (my older brothers would play their songs a lot). I read the news on the internet about an hour after it happened. When I told my dad (he was a big fan) he thought I was pulling his leg!
Sorry to hear about the young boy that your daughter works with. This disease has been a big problem this year and although everyone says that there is no point in just anyone having the vaccine I for one would like to have that choice for myself...
...and no, I didn't go to the show. I did enough of that growing up! I would really like to go to the Ekka one year though. (can you believe that I've never been?)
