busybiddy's statement "It just made me sad to realize that we don't always know who women belong to, family wise, because they have always changed their names, unlike most men.


"Who they belong to, family wise"....that was one of the reasons, when my mother died, I added her maiden name to her headstone by saying "Loving Daughter of ___ ______". Her fathers grave is very close to hers. Almost all her family is buried in that graveyard, so her maiden name is found on close to a hundred headstones.
