Sprinkle 'em on ice cream, put 'em in cookies, any way you want to eat them it's impossible to "beat 'em!" Funny I never thought about peeling them....sort of like a grape, huh uaru Boy and I just got the hang of splitting an Orio in half to lick the middle!!
Funny thing just happened I originally typed Oriole (ya know the bird) must have been sublimating about Audubon Sobriety!

Besides blueberries, there are scrumptious blue potatoes from Peru. They are small & when you cut them open they range from blue to purple inside.

I always want to separate them in to jars with their own colors, that way I could eat only the ones that I want at the time.

Antelope - purple and yellow are complementary colors; therefore I'll bet a nice square pat of butter looks marvelous on those blue/purple potatoes.
Zoomin, I hate to say it, but the thought of M&Ms with popcorn makes me gag! Maybe it's because I worked in movie theaters for too long and saw stuff like that all mixed up in the trash cans, with pop, too. Not too many things smell worse than old, wet, sweet popcorn.

speaking of M&M's, popcorn and the theater, it reminds me of when I was a kid and would go to the movies and I always got a package of Necco's (tossed all the colors except the white and brown ones), a bag of cashews, Milk Duds and a small soda. I never ate popcorn and still dont.

M&M's are o.k. but nothing beats a grape skittle... I've also heard that chickens are partial to chicklets.

Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels.
Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the"loser," and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round.
I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theatre of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world.
Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment.
When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3x5 card reading, "Please use this M&M for breeding purposes."
This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of plain M&Ms. I consider this "grant money." I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the True Champion.
There can be only one.

I've been to the M&M store in Las Vegas and they have every single color you could possibly imagine...A whole WALL of colors! You can buy them however you want to mix or just one color. BUT, the catch is, they are sooooo expensive! Don't know why. Must be a Vegas thing!
NECCOS! omg! The brown (chocolate) ones are the ONLY ones!!! You used to be able to get rolls that were all chocolate ones. Can't find those anymore...

I've been to a couple of candy stores in local shopping malls. They have sold M&M's in individual colors. That way you can pick your one favorite or mix-n-match. I haven't checked lately, but you used to be able to go the the M&M's webpage and buy your own mix of M&M's. Both the stores and webpage had several different colors that aren't in the regular packages.

Sorry Zoomin, I think I must have a genetic flaw which prevents me from finding joy in a mix of sweet and non-sweet. That would also explain my loathing of peanut M&Ms, as well as brownies and ice cream with nuts in them.
Also caramel corn, cracker jacks and that awful, sweet "kettle korn." Not only does it bug me because it's spelled with a k instead of a c, it tastes terrible, too.

I think I'll have to join the Rainybear camp on this one...I love sweets & I love popcorn, but mixin' them?....Sorry, but not in my bowl!.....
Rainybear, how do you feel about meat with sweet sauces?...I can't do that either....sweet is sweet and should not be mixed with stuff that is not!...

Did you know that plain M & Ms and peanut M & Ms are processed through the same machine? That's why we're not allowed to give either out at the preschool where I work since so many children now have peanut allergies. We have to give them Smarties instead. I hate Smarties. They're like chewing crunchy KoolAid and after I've had about 5 rolls my tongue starts to hurt. M & Ms wouldn't do that.

Personally, I could never figure out how anyone could put pineapple on their pizza. I've never tried it but it looks gross.
Also, I'd never heard of blue/purple potatoes before until someone brought up the topic on this thread. My husband said he has heard of them but has never tasted them. Are they available in the U.S.?

As for pineapple on pizzas...try a sausage & pineapple pizza, a real taste treat!

zilvy, I'd like to try them. They sound interesting. Maybe I'll put pink food coloring in some sour cream and put it on the blue/purple potato. It'll give it that punk rock look. I want to have spiked pink hair but my hubby doesn't want me to.
I'm not really into punk rock music, I just like pink spiked hair.
bunnicula, I don't believe we have a Vons Pavillions. We shop at a local market called Adams but for stuff they don't carry we go to a place called Super Stop & Shop.
I think I will try a sausage & pineapple pizza, just out of curiosity.

Is Vons Pavillions the same as the Vons that I remember from when I lived in California? I also remember Ralph's and some others but we don't have any of those here in Connecticut that I'm aware of. At least not in Southeastern Connecticut.
