...Saturday the 22nd may be a good day to just stay home:
Officials say terrorists had planned second wave of violence
"Authorities have grown increasingly certain -- from intelligence intercepts, witness interviews and evidence gathered in hijackers' cars and homes -- that a second wave of violence was planned by collaborators. They said Sept. 22 has emerged as an important date in the evidence, but declined to be more specific."

Yeah it would be a shame if we stayed home and caused a slow business day in selfish concern for our fragile little bodies.
If government wants public help thay are going to have to drop this stoic carry on as usual crap and tell us when there is a danger. I know it must be hard after years of automatically lying.
Frankly - You fail to warn me even once that I know for sure and I won't lift a finger when I suspect someone is going to blow you to hell and gone. Tit for tat. Yup I am that mean.

Why doesn't this surprise me? I get the feeling that if anything else happens to the U.S. it'll be nuke time. What are your thoughts Barry?

Well, I'd like to think that plans for the future attacks have been discovered in time and have now been thwarted. Yessir, that's what I'd like to believe all righty.
Just in case, though, I think I'll be avoiding any large, public buildings in downtown Boston Saturday. And then, if nothing happens, I'll drive down to the Cape on Sunday to celebrate my friend's birthday....

I hope so Barry, but it seems like our "Freedom of Movement" will never be the same. I'm hoping my feeling is just a normal reaction in these 'early days'.

I heard this date on NPR this morning.
I thought surely I misunderstood something, as I was showering at the time.
Just my feelings, of course, but I can't help thinking that we are distracted at this time and most of our internal focus is on airline safety.
Edited to add a word.

It's a catch 22 to me. If they warn us ahead of time that something might happen on Sept. XX, then what's to keep the terrorists from changing that date by a date or two....or a week or so?

Made me look up hedonism though.

How about a little conspicuous consumption? After watching the news all week long, I decided to go out and install a new rear spoiler on my sports car:
As one of my friends pointed out, it looks like I'm preparing to fly to Afghanistan and bomb them myself....

Barry,
Come on up here to New Hampshire and find a nice, sturdy cow to hide under!
Oh, and you might as well keep that car with us while you're there. We'll take good care of it. Promise.

Gravid: At 90mph? I'm not sure -- I've never driven it that slowly for any length of time....
monkeyhouse: Thanks for the offer, but somehow the thought of hiding under a cow just doesn't fill me with a great deal of enthusiasm....
