Way to go Lions!!!!!!!!

We have a team of Lions here in Detroit for American football. They should play in Tutus and ballet slippers. They are so bad it is a huge source of humor. I am fortunate in that I am not a sports fan. Some of these sad people seek an identity with the home team, and speak of how "we" did on the field.
We who? I never saw them out there.

Hi everyone, hope you are all fit and well again Mouse and Pharlap and Zilvy I hope you are getting a bit more sleep than you were the other week.

Bob did you watch the game, the Bombers really bombed out big time. Oh well that is the way it goes I guess, and did you see yesterdays game, I did not watch as I was in the garden but I felt sorry for the Eels......I think that they were so keyed up with finally being in the grand final that they lost the plot and gave the game to Newcastle..I just thought that it might have been nice for another team to win this year. I like to share the good times around team by team, and I can say that easily because neither of yesterdays teams were Queenslanders. LOL Go the Lions Now they showed real Queensland spirit.

Gravid you will have to forgive us, but Australia is a nation of sporting fanatics and we don't care what sport it is, just so long as someone from our side is winning, but when it is a team from our own State or town we cheer them on even if we do not ever watch the game normally. Crazy to some, but to us it is home pride.

Oh and we have a new family member. He is 6 weeks old and has heaps of thick black hair and he cries if I leave the room. His name is Bear.....or Josh says his name is Rolly but Bear suits him better so that is what I am calling him. I think you have already guessed that he is a puppy, and he is a german sheppard/cattle dog X and sooooo cute. I am as shocked as anyone that I have another puppy to look after, but god help me. This one is just too cute and he makes you just melt when you look at him. So now we have 2 loveable adult dogs and 2 cuter than cute pups and 1 stupid cat that does not know that it is a cat. This is the end as far as pets are concerned, we seem to be getting more of them than we had of kids', and I seem to be the bunnie that has to clean up after them and train them not to dig my garden up and not to poop in my house ect. I am getting too old for this.

Nettak How do all these little animals wind up at your house...we can't possibly blame Josh as he is wheelchair ridden...soooo, how did this happen and who brought Jesse into your home...something has to be done!!!

You know, running after puppies, bending to clean up etc., all good excercise but you wind up bonkers!!

Hi Zilvy, yes we can blame Josh and his father as well. You see this new pup is supposed to be Joshua's, his father thought that it might make him more responsible. Yeah hahahahahaha, too funny for words.

One of our clients told us about the pups when they were born, but we got Jess the day after her pups were born so we said that we could not take anymore pets on board, but then a few days ago she turns up on our doorstep with a pup under each arm and they were so cute that Greg caved in and well I guess I did too and so now we have a new family member. Now as for Jess she was compliments from our oldest son Daniel, he got her from one of his mates and she is meant to be his dog but she thinks she belongs to Greg and so the saga goes on and on. The stupider that stupid cat also was meant to belong to Josh, but he soon forgot that and so 'Fat Cat' became our responsibility as well.

The only person in this family that gets more responsibility from these animals seems to be me. Good thing I am a good foster mother or I might turf them all out to look after themselves....kids' included.

LOL Netta, and I thought I had a lot of animals! So, when do we get to see pics of the new cutie??? Oh, speaking of cuties, I am working on a special picture to be posted as soon as they hold still & cooperate!

Well, the doctor's office is supposed to call me sometime tomorrow and set up a gall bladder scan. I had another bad attack, that I'm still not quite done with yet , and called him Friday afternoon. I said I did not think it was my ribs, etc. So he decided to finally run another test to really see if it is my gall bladder. About time I say! So we shall see...

Okay how is everyone today. This is just a flying visit as I have to get ready to take the problem child to the doctor in a little while. I am just letting you have a peek at our newest family member.

He has his own dummy that he loves to chew on, but Jess is forever taking it away and hiding it and we have to search for the damn thing.

This first one is of the baby with his dumadum. So cute!!http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/ne/nettak/rollybeardum.JPG
http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/ne/nettak/rollybear2.JPG

Okay I am out of here I might get back later I will see how I go for time.

I almost forgot to tell you Zilvy we have called him Rollybear, but he does not come to either Rolly or Bear he comes to Bubba. This dog clearly has a mind of his own. LOL

Oh Netta, he's just adorable!! I've been wanting another dog for awhile, but have put my foot down about 'no more puppies!' It took us forever to potty train Gunther and I said I wouldn't do it again. But after seeing your pictures, hmmmm.

Well gang, we got a bit of sad news last night. Hubby's uncle passed away in New Mexico. So the whole family is going for the services. Hubby's brother is driving, us & his sister are flying. Am I nervous? not a bit. Why? It's a short trip, not much jet fuel. Ok, I'm a little nervous...

I was just online looking for a hotel room and wasn't having much luck. Then it finally dawned on me to check, the big balloon festival is also this weekend. I've always wanted to see it, but not like this!

Go on I dare ya to answer that thread Bob. LOL

Hi all, I am just running through again, it is almost bedtime for me and I have to work in the morning.

Josh got the final stitches out today, some of them were not really ready to come out but they could not leave them in any longer in case his body started to reject them. I guess he did have them in for longer than normal because normally they are only in for 7 - 10 days and he had his in for 19 days. Oh well they are out now. He is still not allowed to put his foot down or put any pressure on it at all.

We go and see the Specialist the day after tomorrow, so we will wait and see what he has to say, but I already know that Josh will have to go to physio and learn certain exercises to strengthen is leg and foot again.

Wouldn't you believe it, Josh was offered a job the other week, but it looks like he is not going to be able to take it, because if they still want him to start next month I seriously doubt that he is going to have the all clear from the doctors' in that time. He may not even be walking properly in that time frame. With some luck they may wait until he can start. I know, I live in hope.

Now you all see why it was so hard for us to say no to the new puppy.......he is just a cutie and no one in there right mind would ever be able to walk past him without wanting to cuddle the little fur ball. One cuddle was all it took, and I was suckered.

See you all later.

Bloomin' heck where is everybody. I have an excuse for not coming in last night do you. LOL

I helped Greg with a job yesterday and I seem to have little cuts and bumps all over me, and He pushed me off a mountain of pallets. He says I lost my balance and fell off, but I know he pushed me off and I am sticking to that story. I even tore my favourite jeans. Then last night I had to go to my WW meeting, I did not feel like going but the results were very pleasing so now I am glad that I went. I am getting slimmer as I sit here and type.

Anyway I did my bit to push us back up the page. Talk to you all later with a bit of luck.

Oh, Rocker where are you?? bob got a special supply of Chocolate Milk just for you.

Yes they are sooooooooo goodlooking they give me goosebumps. LOL

Well I took the problem child back to the specialist today and he has been given the all clear to try and put some weight on his foot. It was such a funny sight to see my son trying to walk, he has lost all his muscle tone in his leg. I never realised how fast you lose it, after all it is only 3 weeks since he did this to himself. But when I felt the calf muscle today I was shocked. He still can not straighten his foot out and put it flat on the floor, but he has discovered that if he straps it up and then straps an icepack to his foot it give him a bit of support and also take the swelling out of it at the same time. Now that is a sight that you really should see. Too funny for words really.

We were given a referral to go to Physio at the hospital but they are so slack that I am taking him down the road for private sessions for that. He will still have to use crutches for a few weeks yet because he is only learning to put pressure on his foot again and it will take a while for him to have full use of his foot and leg again.

Okay where are you Rocker

I am so proud of you guys for keeping this party going for so long... how long has it been now? Quite a few months, right?!

Re: I think we need two lavishly appointed restrooms for each the guys and the gals. (Two each to avoid lines during heavy traffic)

Mouser, sheeesh, exactly WHICH door do you propose I enter? Must I stand in line with my legs crossed while you build the third-gendered restroom for those of us who just refuse to check off one box or the other?!?!

Some of are not prissy. You can come in the men's room and use the urinal anytime you want and I won't bat an eye. I used to be a plumber and go in the ladies room all the time. Once I had the sink all apart and the pipes all laid out disassembled on the floor and this old bat came in and hissed at me "What are YOU doing in here!" Duuuuh......

Okay Gravid's the elected plumber. I say we situate the Trannie third gender Dunny in between the other 2 that way Jan will not feel left out, and will not have to keep the legs crossed for any length of time. We might need to hire a jack hammer to rip into the cement floor, will someone make sure that the carpet is rolled up first so that it is not damaged in any way.

I can picture you looking mighty DASHING in those spectacular wing tipped shoes and suspenders.......WHOO HOOOOOOOOOO you handsome devil you.

Rocker I do believe that we started this shing ding way back in February this year, so our little bash has been going for 8 months or so. Not bad hey.

Edited because the word cement has an 'n' in it not another 'm'.

I am bringing this forward because in these troubled times I don't want to lose contact with the folks who have made my insomnia joyful.

I also have to ask if you folks celebrate All Hallows Eve (Hallowe'en) with the fervor of your American Mates?

We have trick or treat, where the children dress in wild and crazy costumes the young ones are usually accompanied by parents and they go "Trick or Treating" (begging) for candy to rot their teeth!! People decorate their porches and yards with monsters, skeletons, ghosts and glowing pumpkins....adults go Trick or Drink later...a custom I happen to enjoy!

One year we had sooo much candy left over, I knew I was in big trouble...so we went Treat (you better take this stuff off my hands) or Tricking...you want to be able to see out of your car windows in the AM don't you??? I got rid of all the excess candy and was able to wear my winter clothes!!

Hi,

Hope you guys don't mind a new person peeking in on the party. This is such a cool thread.

Zilvy,

I've been decorating the house for Halloween. It is in "tacky elementary school" style but I like it. I put up those white plastic window things that have black shadows of like witches, skeletons and Frankenstien. So now at night if you have the lights on and drive up our bay section of windows looks like a Monster Mash party going on!! I've got ceramic pumkins with plastic snakes coming out their eyes.

Sorry I missed both of you Zilvy & Rocker, I have been helping the daughter get the last of her assesments in order to hand in to her tutor. She is at the end of her First part of her Childcare Studies and is ready to start on the second part, this is the expensive part of the training, and the books cost big bucks. I thought that we might be able to buy some of the books second hand but no go on that one, you have to get all the books from the Australian Child Care Career Options and you have no choice in that and they have to be new because each student has to write in the books that they buy so that rules out reusing them. They do it on purpose so that the kids' don't share books and that way they get to make more money from us. Oh well I guess it will all be worth it in the long run and at least the kids' are provided with a private tutor while they are studying, I just hope that my daughter gets a nicer tutor then the one she has a present. This one is just plain mean and I have to admit that I wish the old one would come back because this new one stresses the young girls out big time, and she is just plain narky. Maybe she needs a bit of love in her life or something, anything to sweeten the disposition I reckon.

Jan you take care of yourself and good luck with the show and the CD, let us know when we can buy a copy, you know we will all want one. Never fear we will never forget you honey, you are our mate and didn't you know that absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that stuff.

Hi Deliteful everyone is welcome in this thread, we are all friends and always welcome more friends. So Welcome.

We do not celebrate halloween in Australia, it is not something that we grew up with, even though we all know what it is. Some of the younger children learn about it in Kindy and at primary school and you will sometimes get kids' knocking on the door trick or treating but not very often. It is not something that I ever let my children do though.

My sister likes your halloween because she collects anything pumpkin and she can get pumpkin stuff while halloween is on.

Bob how do you like our choices for the election.......great hey!!

Hi Nettak,

Thanks for the welcome. I think what I've always liked best about Halloween was dressing up and pretending. I still do.

I've always enjoyed the challenge of thinking up a costume and making it. I turned my son once into a train. James the Little Red Engine to be exact. He was so cute with his little coal car on back and his funnel shaped hat. Unforuntanely now he's into video game characters and I'm having a hard time getting excited about some of his ideas. Last year he was James from Team Rocket, this year he's leaning towards some strange fishman creature????
