Gaffan..
Inferring that others are "mean and spiteful" is disrespectful. Please refrain from this in future postings.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Gaffan was just replying to my original comment to Terri.
So my name should be on that warning.

and actually got carried away in the moment a bit. "Spiteful and mean" are not words I would use to describe Teri in any case.

Gaffan,
It is so easy to fall into the ditto crowd when joining a bandwagon.

There was no bandwagon...unless you were the leader...
I was answering your question.

"The Philippines can claim its uniqueness as the only Christian country in Asia because over 90% of the population are Christians. From the figure of over 90%, 83% of these are Roman Catholics, 9% are Protestants, 5% are Muslims while the remaining 3% are Buddhists or belong to other religion groups."

I know this is irrelevant to everyone's favorite points...but, does anyone know the condition of these two missionaries? Are they okay?

I, too, was unaware of the existence of any bandwagon. And in most circles it's regarded as bad form to knock somebody who has backed off from a misstatememt. Not that that matters, of course.

The Phillipines are probably the only country in Asia who are Christians because of it's very long occupation by Spain which sent Catholic priests to convert the native population. The Dutch and the French were not that zealous.

It certainly is bad form. That is why I pointed out that there was no bandwagon. I do not engage in bandwagon, gang like attacks but I find myself a victim of such nonsense too often.
I guess you could call it a pot stirring question to which I replied. Then, when you responded to my remark, the circle was complete.

Toke,
Here's a report where yesterday an Italian Priest was also kidnapped and it mentions the couple and the other hostage who was beheaded.
