Well, HJW, I sure hope my omission of an 's' doesn't cause Reamond not take my 'thank you' seriously.

Linda K

It gives me such a thrill to be able to correct spelling. LOL

I'm sure that Reamond knows that his info is appreciated.

Well, then it would be nice to see you perusing everyone's mis-spellings on all the threads, rather than just singling mine out. Might give you something to do other than harrassing posters you aren't fond of.

I'm sure that Reamond knows that his info is appreciated.

If I choose to personally let someone know I appreciate a certain post they've made, I will tell them. I don't need your 'suggestion' that it is assumed.

And you wonder why I don't answer a lot of your posts to me HJW? It should be rather obvious.

Moist heat works best?

Put your mail in a Tyvek envelope and seal it before bringing it in the house. Use disposable food serving gloves (really cheap). Fold the envelope over and put it in your pressure cooker with a steamer to keep it above the water which you prepared so you don't have to handle anything. Dispose of your gloves carefully in a plastic lined waste basket before sealing the top on. Wash your hands anyway.

Pressure cook the sucker for an hour.

If that won't kill it we are all in trouble.

I cant think of how that many spores came out of a letter and were inhaled . This is a long shot but it has happened to me. I still get all my checks back from the bank. The envelope is always thick. last year my checks started coming ripped open and rewrapped by the post office. It happened so many times I called them. I was told that thick mail does not always fit through the machine and sometimes rips mail open. They never did correct it and it still happens (depending on the thickness due to the amount of checks). This could easily happen to a thicker envelope with anthrax in it. I ask the woman at the post office if they could back off the tension on the machine back and she said they couldn't do that or it would screw things up. who knows?

Chill, Linda

One of my children graduated from Johns Hopkins. Otherwise, I would be misspelling it too. I have noticed a lot of misspellings of this college's name so I was just trying to be helpful.

I don't believe that I have questioned you, Linda...so I haven't missed your failure to answer.

Helen

clarification ed.

Linda
Tradition lingers past it's usefulness which all began as pagan beliefs.

So you say it's part of our history...so what?

It began during the Civil war when slavery was part of our history.

HJW - You seen to forget that you address my posts often. You have questioned my statements many times. Yet you say you haven't/don't. Okay... I always thought when one ends a sentence with a question mark someone is asking a question.

I'll pledge never to address you or respond to you in anyway, if you will kindly return the favor. Petty bickering is really not my style, nor is being sarcastic.

And a side note to Rancher. Please accept my very sincere apology for the OT posts I have made in your thread.

I visited the post office today and our favorite postal clerk was in an uncharacteristicly somber mood. She said that they were initiating a lot of new procedures and that there's a lot that they aren't telling us. There was kind of a chill in the air if you know what I mean.

Double post again.

This is strange. I'm not clicking twice, but I seem to be making more than my share of double posts.

outoftheblue - Used to happen to me when I'd hit my back button after making a post. I found if I go down to the bar below and press the 'go' buttom (to return to the RT) it doesn't happen.

This anthrax business is serious. If thhere's a lot of it loose in the country it won't stop having effects for at least 20 years and maybe to the shelf life above.

The postal service is actively seeking the equipment needed to do some sort of irradiation process on mail as it moves through their hands. I don't know yet what it's about but will post about it as soon as my wife knows. She's been appointed to some ad hoc anthrax programs administration position locally and their proposals and activities will cross her desk before they're publicized. The postal service is taking this VERY seriously.

REDMOND-i found number 18 the most alarming. it points to being completely in the dark about the amount of exposed people.

I know this is overly positive thinking but can humans or animals build up an immunity through low level exposure? I know this is wishful thinking . does anyone know?

I don't know what to believe anymore but I'm still not about to panic. Just give it time and see what happens.

We are probably talking about a small amount of spores and a large volume (billions of pieces) of mail. I would say that the odds are definitely in your favor.
