"Some people come in to our lives and quickly go, others stay
awhile and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never
ever the same."

"Friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but
you know that they're there."

"Don't cry because it's over
smile because it happend"

"When it hurts too much to look back,
and your too scared to look forward, look to your side and I'll be
there!"

"The moment may be temporary, but the memory is forever."

"where ever we go we always take a little of each other with us."

"Don't walk in front of me I shall not follow. Don't walk
behind me I shall not lead. Just walk beside me and be my
friend"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And my personal favorite:
"I always knew I would look back on my tears and laugh, but I
never thought I would look back on my laughter and cry"
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
Never say goodbye... it is only farewell until we meet again.
Goodbye Rawbunzel
Pluck, you say? That reminded me of an old memory flogger I stole off this board on 3/15/99... (I am easily amused...heh)
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English,
proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle
finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore be
incapable of fighting in the future.
This famous weapon was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the
longbow was known as *plucking the yew* (or *pluck yew*).
Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the
French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, *See, we can still pluck
yew! PLUCK YEW!*
Since *pluck yew* is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has
gradually changed to a labiodental fricative *F*, and thus the words often used in conjunction
with the one-finger-salute are mistakenly thought to have something to do with an intimate
encounter.
It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the
symbolic gesture is known as *giving the bird*.
- Do not hang on to the past, it will keep you from growing any further; do not dream too far
into the future, or else you will lose sight of the present. Instead, take notice of the people
around you and be thankful for the time you spend with them, for someday it will be time for
them to go their separate ways.
Goodbye.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
zoomin, I think us questioners are being ignored.
Maybe we're playing charades of some kind....maybe it's a game? If I read all the posts, I guess my answer would be Evita Peron. Am I close??????
I thought ignorance was supposed to be bliss.
NOT!
If memory serves me correctly, charades was never alot of fun.
Call me for a game of spin-the-bottle, though
I always thought that when you left
I would be shattered.
Irreversibly destroyed.
Yet you are gone
and though I trembled from the blow
I did not break.
I must be much stronger than I had thought.
