The scariest voters to me are the ones who vote a straight party ticket. It shows a total lack of sense to assume that everyone running with a party is the best person for the job.
I have always studied my voter's pamphlet and taken a "cheat sheet" with me to the polls (Oregon always has a multitude of ballot measures to vote on, way too many to keep track of). Somehow there always ends up being a couple of odd offices where I can't decide for whom to vote (and I rarely know enough about judges to know who's who). But if I can't cast a vote with a degree of certainty about who I want, I leave it blank. Makes no sense to guess, not like tests in school where you at least had a chance to get it right!
I used to think that the more people voting, the better. I have changed my mind on that one...the more INFORMED voters, the better. The rest should just skip voting, IMO - they are screwing things up.
