The Good Old Days -- Eisenhower's Speech

When the speeches of the leaders of the Republican Party clearly demonstrated their honesty, courage, integrity and intelligence, as opposed to those today who deliver a string of soundbite cliches in the manner of a backwoods preacher scaring the hell out of the congregation.

I'm beginning to think all of this subverting of the Constitution has less to do with the "war on terrorism" and more to do with the upcoming Bush war with The People.

Even a girl under his desk won't help them now. Even the body of the missing Utah girl under his desk wouldn't help them now.

But the military...

God help us every one.

"Stop the planet, I want to get off!"

"Air Force General Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was responsible for drafting the new command plan — and who calls the establishment of the new command the most significant structural change in his 37 years in uniform — said yesterday that the Northern Command (NORTHCOM) 'takes the various homeland security missions being performed by various combatant commanders and some agencies and puts them under one commander (to) bring unity and focus to the mission.' Air Force General Ralph E. Eberhardt is slated to head the new command, which will also include oversight of NORAD and the territorial defense missions of the JFCOM."

And there you have it, Folks: Millitary Command in charge of Civilian policing and intelligence agencies! Why is this bad? Because it forms the foundation for a Dictatorship and has no other purpose but that!

Well, KRS, at least you and I will be able to keep each other company in our jail cells as they lead us out the back door of the Kangaroo Court to put a bullet into the back of our heads!

"We pray that peoples of all faiths, all races, all nations, may have their great human needs satisfied; that those now denied opportunity shall come to enjoy it to the full; that all who yearn for freedom may
experience its spiritual blessings; that those who have freedom will understand, also, its heavy responsibilities; that all who are insensitive to the needs of others will learn charity; that the scourges of poverty,
disease and ignorance will be made to disappear from the earth, and that, in the goodness of time, all peoples will come to live together in a peace guaranteed by the binding force of mutual respect and love."

---Dwight D. Eisenhower (1961)

Today, Eisenhower's wonderful hopes are being systematically ruined. Instead of freedom and peace for all people we, in this country are egaged in waging wars throughout the world, compromising our own freedom by shredding the constitution with plans to create a police/military state here and in space. What a frightening path the Bush administration is leading us down.

Helen, there must be readers who think that this is a joke!

I ask you - the reader, to please think for a moment about a riddle: What is it when the Millitary oversees civilian authorities?

Give up?

It's called: Martial Law!

What does THAT mean, Bor?

Martial Law is imposed upon society by the millitary at the request of our "Leaders" in order to instill discipline out of chaos. When Martial Law is declared, the U.S. COnstitution and most especially, the Bill of Rights is suspended!

That's right! Add 2 plus 2 now.

Now, WHY would our government impose Martial Law on us? Answer: to suspend Civil Rights. What does this do for them? A. It allows them to Rule by Decree - a Dictatorship! Why do it in this fashion? A. If it was a sudden announcement by Bush that he was imposing Martial Law, everyone would get upset and rightly so! But doing it under the guise of "efficiency and public safety" like Hitler did with the S.S. and Gestopo, people are less likely to get shocked about it. And once it's in place - good lcuk in getting rid of it!

Really?

Think! A War on Terrorism that will never end? So saith Bush and his henchmen! Martial Law that will last "until the end of the War?"

Don't be stupid, folks! If you've been asleep up until now, NOW is the time to open up your eyes!

It's no damned joke!

Borillar,

Is this the same Judicial Watch, a Washington-based legal watchdog group that filed 50-plus legal actions against the Clinton administration and subsequently found itself in the IRS's cross hairs?

When they challenged the Clinton Administration Judicial Watch was patriotic, but today in the New America....well, it'll disappear soon cause it's probably possible that they are terrorists.

I thijnk that it's a sign that Conservatives are not as Dim as most people make them out to be. Even Conservatives have a basic sense of Right and Wrong and what they see going on with Bush and Co. is clearly WRONG. It is a signal being sent by Judicial Watch to Conservatives to turn on one of their own; to divorce themselves from the Bush Camp and to prepare for Bush's dissmissal in disgrace while they wash their hands of him.

There IS hope yet!
