Saabsister, you often show an astutness that astounds me; conversely, at times, you show a complete lack of understanding. Let me explain it this way:

IF I am to be required to provide "proofs" of every opinion that I give here, each and every time that I post one, THEN SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE!

THEREFORE, until EVERYONE ELSE agrees to provide PROOF each and every time that they make a post in here, ONLY THEN will I also do such!

It's easy to come in here, risk nothing of your own and make demands of posters - especially when you don't have the cohones to go out on a limb with your own opinions. Instead of coming in here only to make demands and derisive comments at posters - a cowardly act, instead, go get the proof (links, usually or logic) that the opinion is WRONG and post it! THAT's how a REAL ADULT goes about the process.

While Linda and DeSquirrel continue their tirade at trying to get me to go become a fireman, at least they have courage! Linda posts her ignorance, but lets it roll off her back because she has CHARACTER. Tex has none. DeSquirrel will, on occasion, castrates himself by showing what a complete ignoramus that he is, but AT LEAST HE HAS A PAIR! Tex has never risked his at ALL! I have nothing but complete and utter contempt for tex and his cowardice. And you should be able to see that, saabsister: it's a matter of CHARACTER.

Thanks, Helen, for that. I was saving this one when I first made my comments the other day: The Rising Cost of College Tuition among others. It's easy to prove that colleges are charging what the market will bare instead of trying to only meet their costs: my comments hardly ever being the only voice on those facts. But I was hoping that some incredulous poster would first post links to disprove my opinions before I'd bring out my own. but that's OK. Thanks anyway, Helen.

Borillar, what do you hope to accomplish by the ad hominem attacks? Refute their arguments point by point. If I call you a jerk, I'm saying more about my frustration in answering your question than I am about the validity of my point. (Where the hell did Robert's Rules go?)

[another note to self...Linda is ignorant if she disagrees with anything Borillar says]

>Borillar, what do you hope to accomplish

Saabsister, once again, you are not comprehending. I already explained it to you. The answer to that question is out in the open in my previous statement to you.

Borillar, okay, I admit to having a reading comprehension problem. You make a statement and then a conclusion. But I often fail to understand how you get from one to the other.

OK, saabsister, I'll admit I'm no Ernest Hemingway. You got the money that you paid for being entertained by this page.

(comes with a money-back guarantee in case you weren't entertained)

"Borillar answered Tex1's "question". If Tex needs any other basic information, I suggest that he look it up here

Helen"

He did? I'm sorry I missed it. I'm sure it would have been interesting.

Tex1, you asked....
"Borillar,
"Does the fact, that the North Koreans may have a nuke, make Iraq less of a threat, or more of a threat?"

Borillar answered....
I don't see Iraq or Korea as a threat to America. I see sold-out politicans, special interest groups who promote legislation that hurts Americans, and Christian Fundamentalist influences in our government as the real threats to Ameria. Why do you ask?

Helen,

You are correct. I was more interested in the implied question from this post.

"Just trying to figure out what the smoking gun is (was), and what the "lie" is (was). It's a little hard to tell from your tortured logic, sometimes."

My fault for not being more specific.

I read the article. While I have a lot of respect for John McCain and his sometimes bravery at defying his own party for the Good of the American People, all too often he walks down the Road of Appeasement for his own political party. My first thought was which one was this article based upon.

If this article was meant to change my mind about either North Korea or Iraq being a graver threat to Americans than our own government at this time, it had to show just cause. John would have to make observations in that direction, or provide facts as to how either of these regimes posed any danger whatsoever to us, or similar evidence. Hey - I'm open-minded and I'm willing to hear the facts.

Unfortunately, as is the case so far with every breath spoken by any member of the GOP or pro-Hawk in or around the government, not a single thing can be pointed to that explains just how these régimes are a danger to us, now or later. For instance, in this article, McCain spends much more time going over Clinton diplomatic failures and at the same time never brings up their own efforts in diplomacy, which he admits is non-existent. That North Korea lied to us, broke an agreement made in Good Faith ("Promises are like pie crusts - made to be broken!" - Lenin) with us is undeniable.
Should we decide to take on North Korea, we also have to take on Big Brother - China at the same time. That is the one and only reason why we are not bullying North Korea to hand over the nukes and raw materials that they have developed thus far. Quite simply, we can't be a Bully.

"We cannot allow Iraq to become the North Korea of the Middle East," said John McCain in the article. I ask: who's we? Is it We, as in We The People of the United States Of America? Or is it we, the Big-Ass Oil Companies? Or is it WE, Israel? I'm hardly the only one asking this question, and so far, the Bush Administration hasn't provided one iota to clarify the situation.

Personally, I thought it was extremely bad form for the Republicans to bad mouth our efforts to stop the mass murdering going on in by the Serbs against the Albanians. "WE'RE NOT THE WORLD'S POLICEMAN!!" the Republicans cried out at this ongoing murder and horror that we were trying to stop. "WE DON'T NEED TO BE NATION-BUILDING!! they emphasized. Luckily for the Albanians and Europe and US, Clinton put a stop to the slaughter!

Only now -- now we have the Bush Administration being the World's Policeman going about pointing fingers at countries and bullying them with little to no reason. Before 9-11, the world watched as the Bush Regime first tried to bully one country after another, trying to pick fights wherever it could. What was that all about? Can you believe that the Republicans believe that We, the American People can't recall them doing just that? Yes -- they keep saying over and over again - YOU and I and everyone else REALLY IS THAT STUPID!

Now you wonder why I think that this is all a dodge by the Republicans to try to misdirect the attention of the American People from our very real problems?

Problem #1: The Loss of the United States Constitution and the revocation of the Bill of Rights.

Our Constitutional Rights were taken away from us without just cause or due process. From one side of their mouths, it is supposed to be "only so long as this war takes" while on the other side of their mouths they claim, "This is a War that will NEVER END!" Like as if the American People are so stupid as to not put the two together: Since the War will never end, you will NEVER get your Constitutional Rights back! Kiss it Goodbye FOR GOOD!

Problem #2: Our Economy.

Do you really need me to point out what is wrong there?

And the list of Problems just goes on and on and on.

These Problems are REAL.

These Problems are IMMEDIATE.

These Problems are a REAL DANGER to our Way of Life!
