The problem that I see, Bear, is that there are two types of Conservatives: the traditional Conservatives and these New Conservatives. The Traditional Conservatives have a far different viewpoint than these New Conservatives, who have more than just a passing resemblence to Nazi Fascism. In it, you learn the baloney of Conservatism. Conservatives have nothing against honest solutions to old problems, so long as the new problems that they create are not worse than those that they solve. In that faq, you learn NOT to think and that NOT THINKING TOO MUCH is enjoyed by Conservatives. That's Baloney!
It's a Lie because Conservativism harkens back to the US Constitution as the protector of Personal Freedoms. It DOES NOT mean warping the meanings of the Constittuion to further one's agenda, as it is a sacred document, second in Holiness only to the Bible. Governemnt officials and individuals trifle with it at their own peril! For without this document, we are left helpless to outside authority to crush our freedoms. And to create that protection, we need to be observant and careful and exceedingly thoughtful of how easily it is to loose one's freedom in this world.
Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas is quoted as saying, "As nightfall does not come at once,neither does oppression. It is in such twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air - however slight- lest we become victims of the darkness."
THAT, is what being a Conservative means! You have to keep your mind OPEN to all possibilities, NOT CLOSED! For only by keeping a sharp eye out on our "elected" officials day-by-day can we ensure that our freedoms continue.
But these New Nazi Conservatives - they WANT the US Constitution destroyed! They LOVE living in a Dictatorship where no one is required to expend the effort to think for themselves. They *HATE* Freedom of any sort, and will stop at nothing to make sure that no one in America or anywhere else in the world can have any!
Bear, if you want to go on calling yourself a Conservative, you better start thinking about just whose side you're on and what kind of a Conservative that you are. You can't be in the middle on this issue. Either you're a Traditional Conservative or you're a GD Nazi! If you're any sort of an American and you have any Pride whatsoever, you will REJECT thos Naziis and stop protecting them with your support!
