"Helen, I didn't know a posters posts had to qualify as profound."

That's just the point, Nearthesea. You were being critical of another poster's content...by asking him why he was posting on an auction related board.

He has the privilege to post anything...just like you do.

Helen

LindaK,You said:
"junquemama - Yes, we did have that info on another thread. And the question was raised....so what do you want...that only people who have served their country can be in our Congress [House and Senate and as a President]. That requirement would eliminate a ton of our representatives."

You betcha!..We would not be going thru any crisis about war, because the people would remember the ugly side of it.

Had any type of diplomacy been used in the last 12 years,We would not be going thru this "krap".
I blame both parties...No, our oil companys were over there instead, trying to make oil deals. It didnt go their way because the Russians had first dibs,at Iraq oil and gas.
You can sit down with Iraq and talk oil,yet no one has bothered to sit down and talk peace.Instead we threaten them and tell them how they should live, and give them a timeline to do it in.This makes us look real bad,to the rest of the world.
Try telling a pregnant woman she has to deliver in 4 months of pregnacy because of a time line. Most of those people dont own a watch or calendar, time means nothing to them. They are not at our level of understanding. Its too late now,all the damage has been done.

Well, OK Helen, this is why I said what I did: He posted remarks, insinuating (well, pretty much said!) that the U.S. gov't planned and executed the entire operation of 9/11/01.

By posting such heartless (thats just my emotional side there) and basically calling our nations leaders murderers, conspiring of course with Israel, posting on Auction Watch's messageboard this information, why is he, if he is sure this is what happened, be exposing himself, because he also said that his (all of ours) phones are tapped, and what we say on the internet is monitored; he would be gagged, or of course, worse. I say this, because he said, our country planned this awful event. Now if they did, why couldn't this poster, kennycam, all of a sudden 'disappear', IOW's the 3 alphabet agencys take him out of the picture. Isn't this unsafe for him to post this?

Just my oh so humble opinion.

I haven't seen Kenny posting in the last five minutes. What could it mean!!???

OnTopic:I thought Bush gave a fairly coherent speech. He didn't have to read his notes as much as usual. All in all he did quite well.

junquemama - If that had been a requirement, then Clinton would never had been president. He didn't serve either. And, as I recall, his name wasn't on that same list with the others who didn't serve either.

it may mean he's out trying to figure out who the President who gave the speech about sending troops into Iraq to face off with Saddam Hussien in 1998

It was Clinton (chickenhawk as kenny calls them) who didn't serve in the military, but yet sent troops to Iraq, because Saddam wasn't complying with UN, and feared he had WOMD. (that sounds familiar too for some reason.)

junquemama - You didn't. I was trying to be funny. Making people remember that fact before they vote yea or nay on the subject. Plus if it were a requirement...no woman would qualify [at this point] either..as none who represent us now have served either [say Boxer, Feinstein, H. Clinton, etc]

I absolutely did invite her to leave if she doesn't stop being a liar. There was a time on here where she had some honor. But lying in order to commit character assasination is lowering the standards around here -- and anyone who wants to do that is welcome to leave and not come back IMO. I doubt that anyone else on here enjoys that sort of behavior from children, let alone others that they are having a discussion with. So I'm hardly the only one with that opinion. LOL!

Oh! And BTW -- I'm going to EDIT all of my posts from now on whether they need it or not!

I think what you meant to say is, "You have No authority to make ANYONE leave. PERIOD." As it is, I can only complain that I am being libeled, which is against AW Community Guidelines. Instead of trying to invoke Big Mama, I want the LIBELOUS POSTS AIMED AT ME to STOP! And it is not up to you to tell me what to do when it happens to me; i.e. it's none of your business, Linda!

edited for no reason.

Borillar - I really thought you were a grown up. You're acting like a demanding child. Stamping his feet, once again reminding us of the community guidelines. Haven't seen you remind anyone other than those who say something you don't like/approve of though.

Remember Freedom of Speech?

It's none of my business? Sure it is...we're all members of this AW community and are free to post what and when we like.

Hint - There is an IGNORE button.
