Bet you stand up and say HELL YEAH! After ya read this. (except you left wingers)

If the man/woman who wrote this ran for PRESIDENT I would VOTE for him/her.

I like big cars, big boats, big motorcycles, big houses and big campfires. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some governmental stooge with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts for squirting out babies.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion. I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America and see what happens. Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door. I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the law of statistics.

I know what sex is, and there are not varying degrees of it. If I received sex from one of my subordinates in my office, it wouldn't be a private matter or my personal business. I would be "FIRED" immediately!

I believe that if you are selling me a milk shake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen you should have to speak English!. My father and grandfather should not have died in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation recount votes when needed.I know what the definition of lying is.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document and open to their interpretations. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television, and that doesn't stop you from watching them. I believe a self-righteous liberal or conservative with a cause is more dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid and smack their little ass' when necessary and say "NO.

"I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And Please stay home until that new lip ring heals, I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me f*&%king french fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness" and of all the suck ups that go along with it. I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa, so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else.

And if you don't like my point of view, tough *hit!

Hell Yeah!!!

bear, I am still saying "hell yeah!" to your post! sort of reminds me of this, which I am sure has been posted here before...

Dear Terrorist,

Well, you hit the World Trade Center, but you missed America. You hit the Pentagon, but you missed America. You used helpless American bodies, to take out other American bodies, but like a poor marksman, you STILL missed America.

Why? Because of something you guys will never understand. America isn't about a building or two, not about financial centers, not about military centers, America isn't about a place, America isn't even about a bunch of bodies.

America is about an IDEA. An idea, that you can go someplace where you can earn as much as you can figure out how to, live for the most part, like you envisioned living, and pursue Happiness. (No guarantees that you'll reach it, but you can sure try!)

Go ahead and whine your terrorist whine, and chant your terrorist litany: "If you can not see my point, then feel my pain." This concept is alien to Americans. We live in a country where we don't have to see your point. But you're free to have one. We don't have to listen to your speech. But you're free to say one. Don't know where you got the strange idea that everyone has to agree with you. There's a spirit that tends to take over people who come to this country, looking for opportunity, looking for liberty, looking for freedom. Even if they misuse it.

You guys seem to be incapable of understanding that we don't live in America, America lives in US! American Spirit is what it's called. And killing a few thousand of us, or a few million of us, won't change it.

Most of the time, it's a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of Spirit. Until we're crossed in a cowardly manner, then it becomes an entirely different kind of Spirit.

Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit, this time.

Sleep tight, if you can. We're coming.

I'm not here to try to change anyone's mind ~ that pre-supposes that you have one to change, BTW. I emailed a link to this thread to my father to get his opinion; and well, he sent this back - something he had received from a friend...with a great big HELL YEAH at the end

"Dear Terrorists:"

I am the average American.....

I'm the guy who sends you grain when your crops fail, and drinking water when your rivers, streams, and lakes dry up.

I'm the guy who sends hordes of rescue personnel, trucks, and helicopters to aid you when you suffer earthquakes, floods, and mudslides.

I'm the guy who sends in my sons and daughters to "keep the peace" when you can no longer do so.

When those relief workers ration out that rice - I probably helped pay for it by
working some dirty job that I really hate.

When that UH-60 Blackhawk hoists your parents to safety from the roof of your flooded house, it's because I paid for it with my U.S. tax dollars.

When those Peace Corp members dig that irrigation ditch to help your little farming village, it is with my backing and my blessing.

And when your neighbor threatens you and your way of life, more often than not it is I who will stand up and make him back down.

But I weep today....

I weep for thousands of fellow Americans whom I will never know...

I weep for hundreds of brave firemen, policemen, and paramedics who perished while heroically doing their duties...

I weep for 244 airline passengers who never reached their destinations...

Saddest of all...I weep with the knowledge that I will forever be looking over my shoulder...

I weep for innocents lost...
I weep for innocence destroyed...
I weep for naivete shattered...

But soon I will weep no more...

I will dry the tears from my eyes...
I will wipe my runny nose...
I will tighten my belt, and lace up my boots..

And I will sharpen my knife...
I will dry my powder...
and I will oil my weapon...

And as I do so, I will look, and I will listen..

I will note the kind word, the shared grief, the shocked condolences...

I will appreciate the support, and be ever grateful for any and all aid offered...

But I will also note the gloating, the laughter, the jeers, and the perverse joy...

And I will remember...
I am an American...
I am resourceful...
I am determined...
and I NEVER forget..

Sleep well, I'll see you soon.

God Bless America!

I received this from a good friend up in Maine. I'd credit the author but don't know who wrote it.
Amen,
Reverend Colin
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, by the name of Common
Sense.

Common Sense lived a long life but died in the United States from heart
failure at the beginning of the new millennium. No one really knows how
old he was, since his birth records long ago were lost in bureaucratic red
tape.

He selflessly devoted his life to service in schools, hospitals, homes,
factories, helping folks get jobs done without fanfare and foolishness.
For decades, petty rules, silly laws, and frivolous lawsuits held no
power over Common Sense.
He was credited with cultivating such valued lessons as to know when to
come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, and that life
isn't always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
than you earn), reliable parenting strategies (the adults are in charge, not
the kids), and it's okay to come in second.
A veteran of the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, and the
Technological Revolution, Common Sense survived cultural and educational
trends including body piercing, multi-language ballots, and "new math."
Alas, his health declined when he became infected with the,
"If-it-makes-you-feel-good-do-it" virus.
In recent decades, his waning strength proved no match for the ravages of
well intentioned, but overbearing regulations. He watched in pain as good
people became ruled by self-seeking lawyers. His health rapidly deteriorated
when schools implemented endless zero-tolerance policies.
Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing
a classmate, a teenager suspended for taking a swig of mouthwash after
lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened
his condition. It declined even further when schools had to get parental
consent to administer aspirin to a student, but could not inform the parents
when a female student was pregnant or wanted an abortion.
Finally, Common Sense lost his will to live as the Ten Commandments
became contraband, Churches became businesses, criminals received better
treatment than their victims, and Federal judges stuck their noses in
everything from the Boy Scouts to professional sports.
Finally, when a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was
hot, she was awarded a huge settlement and Common Sense threw in the towel.
As his end neared, Common Sense drifted in and out of logic, but was kept
informed of developments regarding questionable regulations such as those
for low flow toilets, rocking chairs, and stepladders.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his
wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He
is survived by two stepbrothers: My Rights and Ima Whiner. Not many attended
his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

"I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers."

Bear, do you truly think minorities are not physically attacked because of their race, religion, or gender preference? Or do you agree with the racists who drug James Byrd to death, and the homophobes who killed Matthew Shepard? If you believe that minorities are not targeted for physical and other attacks, you are living in a #*!@ dream world.

As for organizations for whites only, there's always the KKK. You can put in a vote for David Duke. You can march down the streets of Skokie.

Are you suggesting that the The National Italian American Foundation cannot give scholarship funds to Italian Americans? They can and do, and are white. There's the Polish-American Student Alliance, which gives out scholarships to Polish Americans. Why are you objecting to the United Negro College Fund? Because it gives scholarships to black people?

BTW, I do know quite a few doctors and midwives who came to this country from Africa. Just because your eperience seems to be limited doesn't mean the entire country is so. You say you're in South Central Texas. Did you know that quite a few UT students are from Nigeria? And Austin has population from Biafra? Refugees from the horrendous conflict there. They have made America their home.

If you want to patronize stores where English is spoken, by all means, do so. What is your problem with people speaking other languages in a store?

There are better OSs out there. I object to MS trying to be a monopoly, and prefer the freedom to use the OS I choose. Let the marketplace work.

As for tattoos, to each their own body.

This letter reeks of bigotry, intolerance, and inanity. I find those characteristics almost Un-American.

So..if we had all of the above plus a White Spring Break there would be no objections? There most certainly would be. People would be called racists. But when the exact same thing is done by blacks???? then it's okay...and is different in some way, allowable for some reason???

snowyegret - There are those, like myself, who have no problem with programs that are ethnic related or race related...[those you mentioned] but do have a problem that these same 'rights' when they are not extend to white people. You mentioned a couple of groups, who are also white. But in my opinion any programs that is specifically for blacks only is no different than those that would be for whites only.

Are you suggesting that if we had a White only Miss America this wouldn't be okay? Because, imo, it's not. And neither is having a separate Miss Black America, imo. If it is to you, maybe you can better help me understand your position on how it's okay for one race, but not okay for another.

HELL YEAH !!!!!!
=================

Most Americans traditionally have been OVERLY-TOLERANT, if anything. "Anything goes" nowadays...and to the flamboyant extreme. And if we can't live with that, we are not "tolerant" and are bigots. Sure, there still exist hate groups here, but their membership roles are miniscule as a percentage and shrinking*. America is probably the least rascist country in the world in my opinion.
--------------------------------------------
I do think we should all "get along" to paraphrase Rodney King, but we've got to have some standards...English, discipline in the schools, better borders both in the North and South to stop
illegals/terrorists/drugs, and a responsibly overseen welfare system.
--------------------------------------------
I always liked the original "Star Trek".
Sometimes had a "war" in it, but always a moral at the end. There were members from different countries (and planets), they all respected each other and got along, communicated in the same language, and were members of the "Federation" and not a hyphenated version of it...... Once someone becomes a CITIZEN here, they should be an "AMERICAN" and proud of it! Think how silly it would sound if a person emigrated to France and went around calling himself American-French, North American-French, etc.
---------------------------------------------

Incidentally, regarding the KKK (an abominable organization" and shrinking):

* "The Klan Today

Klan membership declined with amazing rapidity to an estimated 30,000 by 1930. With the depression of the 1930s, dues-paying membership of the Klan shrank to almost nothing.

After World War II, an attempt to revive the Klan failed, according to Anti-Defamation League documents, as the organization splintered and as state after state specifically barred the order.

Southern civil-rights activities during the 1960s gave the Klan a new impetus and led to revivals of scattered Klan organizations. In spite of its efforts, the new Klan was not strong, and by the end of the decade its power and membership had declined to practically nothing.

Although a resurgence of support for the Klan was manifest in the surprising popularity in the early 1990s of David Duke of Louisiana, current membership in Klan organizations is estimated to be 2,500 to 3,000."

http://www.haraldson-bering.com/kkk.htm

--------------------------------------------
We all hope that groups like the KKK "go away".

Actually, they weren't communicating "in the same language." A gizmo called the Universal Translator allowed them to understand each other--essentially by making other languages sound like one's own.
