I use the term ‘anti-Semite’ to ‘embrace’ all Semites and not just those ‘embraced’ by American dictionaries.
Even a Semite can be an anti-Semite, even if only anti-certain-Semites.
How do we deal with the rise of anti-Semitism in the West?
Do we acknowledge its existence at all?
Do Semites believe/acknowledge this problem exists, even if others don’t, and if so, what, if anything can or will they do to ‘combat’ it.
Does anti-Semitism influence our Governments’ policy decisions?
Do some ‘groups’ have greater influence than others, and are those groups ‘tipping the scales of justice’?
Do we need to know, do we care to know, do we know but not care???
Do You Care??

In the interest of fair and open analysis, if you are a Semite, please declare your potential for bias, in your response.

For example, although I am not a Semite, I do have an Arab ‘in-law’ I may be unduly bias in believing that Jews have a better representation in the West than other Semites.

I do believe that racism exists in all cultures, but that doesn’t make it right.
Anti-Semite, more specifically, Anti-Muslim sentiment has been clearly demonstrated in this chat.

Isn’t it ‘evil’?

austhole- For you to say that what Reamond said is "anti-semitic/anti-Muslim", is erroneous and potentially more dangerous as it shows how people such as you can put almost any spin they want on others' comments. Any profiling is not religion-based per se, but rather directed at those who interpret their religious principles as calling for the death of others. If there are Jewish or Christian sects who harbor the same beliefs they should also be dealt with accordingly. Some ethnic profiling became necessary as the great majority of terrorists are young middle eastern males. Do you deny this? I find myself posing a question to one who has clearly demonstrated a total lack of reason. Your redundancy will not change anything. An austbounty thread by any other name is the same drivel. This is my last response to you as you are a broken record with a bad song.

Aust witthout hiding behind your vastly expanded difinition of Semite / Anti Semite... what are you trying to ask? Since anti-semitism traditionally is far from synonomous with anti-arab sentiments you've lost me. Are you trying to ask if there is a growing dislike for jews, for arabs, or for all inhabitants of the arab penninsula?

"In the interest of fair and open analysis, if you are a Semite, please declare your potential for bias, in your response".

Are you a semite? In Germany it was the custom to check under the shorts for medical evidence. I understand it is a small target if a target at all in your case but curious in a medical cultural perspective.

Well, I am a WASP. My ancesters have been in this country for over 300 years. I am of French, Dutch, English& Scotch ancestry. Don't have a problem with Jews or Arabic nationalties. I served in the US Navy during the Korean War, with blacks, Indians & Jews. We all bleed & die the same way. I have 2 dear friends who are black & 2 that are Jews. We have wonderful times together & this week I am going to Passover with Rose & Mort. So much for your anti Semitism

Nice try Kraft... how about coming into the 21st century now.... please don't play stupid like nazibounty and try to say that anti-semitism is related to anything other than anti-jewish... I can go through the dictionary and get lots of antiquated definitions...

Unless of course you have something against jewish people also...

I was not seeking an arguement - I was merely pointing out the irony.

BTW - I was not aware I had aligned myself with Aust.... Here I thought I had not yet paid enough attention to his stuff and so was withholding opinion until he clarified some things.

"Some ethnic profiling became necessary as the great majority of terrorists are young middle eastern males."

Can you please give me an 'ethnic profile' of the neo-cons for PNAC.
Their ‘map’ has waited through successive US Presidency 'pushes' to find a ‘sympathetic’ ear.

Why will no one here acknowledge the ‘profile’?

The 'particular' 'profile' seems obvious to me, avoiding it's recognition supports the belief that it is beyond, ‘politically correct’ but perhaps a 'sacred cow'.
I don’t see many ‘ethnic groups’ enjoying such ‘sacred cow’ status.

It’s hard to get to the truth, without even acknowledging certain facts.

Perhaps some here would have me believe that a certain ‘ethnic profile’ is chosen to rule a roost as a result of its superior intelligence. How elite!; like Plato’s ‘Golden people’.
Perhaps just too much lead or zinc in my blood, that they think my children are born to serve, rather than rule.

Aust - for those new to paying attention to your proliferation of "terms" - could you please translate your statement into clear plain english?

It’s no use trying to speak plainer, some people will never even acknowledging certain facts, let alone debate their effect.

You can even show them a dictionary or ten, but they will dismiss it and choose to use one published in a country of their choice, a country perhaps largely influenced by a certain group, even as far as creating an exclusive regional definition of an English word.

Next we may see a picture of an Arab in all US dictionaries, (as an example) beside the word ‘evil’.
That may too help the plight of certain groups greatly to promote the view even further.
But it would be too blatantly
A N T I – S E M I T I C,
at this stage.

Neon saying something about Isreal should be talked about Isreal and Isrealis...

Is that so hard to do? Nazibounty just wants to spew his anti-jewish crap all over... Not all jews live in Isreal and not all Isrealis are jewish... If I have something to say about Canada I call them Canadians, not Protestants or Catholics...

Right or wrong today's definition of "anti-semitic" is anti-jewish. Not anti-Isreali

Any hate monger such as nazibounty can find definitions to fit their needs.

Aust - the problem is you do not debate. You preach. You may ask a question, but then you answer it yourslf. You don't listen to or pay any attention to the answer given because you have already made up your mind what they are going to say, put your own words into the mouth and then you say they are lying or denying if they do not mimic the thoughts and opinions you have assigned to them.

If you would jump down off the soapbox and stop assigning your labels and accusations to posters you could have some vey interesting exchanges.

What I don't understand is why do you bother to post here always on the same subject (expand your horizons - there is a much bigger world out there than this one topic) since you have already assigned opinions to everyone?

I asked you to clearly state your question without the retoric so that I could exchange opinions with you and your reply was "there's no use". If you see no use, why bother asking the question to begin with?

Oh well, if nothing else, this chat makes more normal, not only discussions on Arabs and Muslims, but Israelis and Jews as well.

It's a good start, don't you think?

I was just reading a speech that Nancy Pelosi gave to the AIPAC, in which she stated, "From the Golan Heights, we could see Damascus just 40 miles away. Today, Syria's and Iran's bankrolling of terror and the development of weapons of mass destruction is a clear and present danger. Today, Israelis in the north live under the constant threat of Hezbollah's rockets just across the border in Lebanon."

Now, we are talking every day about invading Syria.

Then, she said, "Let no one ever question our unshakable commitment to the security that Israel must have and the safety of the Israeli people and to its qualitative military edge. Israel will never stand alone, because America will never abandon Israel."
"Third, for Israel to have peace, Israel needs a partner in peace. Yasser Arafat is not that partner."

Then she proceeded to discuss leadership change in Palestine.

She ended by saying, "This is the spirit that defines the American-Israeli partnership. America stands with Israel now. America will stand with Israel forever. We will never abandon Israel. We will never abandon Israel."
"God bless you. God bless our men and women serving on the frontlines today. And God bless our special relationship between the United States of America and the State of Israel.”

Could Palestine be on the list?

Helen
