The RT has become a more middle of the road board. I think that's a good thing.

AMEN, Colin. A good thing indeed!!!

[Although I'd probably say more balanced politically. Those here haven't changed their positions, just more who are more moderate have come aboard.] And that's a WONDERFUL thing imho.

What a load of KRAP!! Both of you were in the little gang, to run off anyone that didnt agree, with your perverted sense of patriot right wing swill.

Everyone else was un-American,out to kill the soldiers, should move to another Country.

You want cut and pastes to improve your faulty memorys?

Oh yeah Colin, you'er such a humanitarian,
I wasnt even talking to you, and got put on the A list. You put Bobbi, on that list, probley because you didnt have a clue what Bobbi was saying.

All you've proven here is how one sided and narrow minded you all are.You refuse to see another side of an argument,in politics and life.
Im pissed at the loss of some of the posters, because of your stupid antics.
Not everyone is mean, and wants to fight,or maybe they have too much KRAP going on in their lives to spend all their time with stupid remarks, by the likes of yourselves.

Go ahead and act like nothing happened,
middle of the road..and ..Moderate...PLEASSSSSSSSSSSE,you wouldnt know it or want it here.

Wow! I just read that US and state government agencies are beginning to auction surplus property on Ebay etc. Isn't that interesting?

Maybe I'm just behind the times!

Last year, we drove down to Oregon to the gov't surplus for purchase off Oregon states ebay sales, large, VERY large computer servers. They've been doing it for awhile now

junquemana - You're just having a fit because there is more of a balance here now. You are the one who stated that "AW wasn't going to 'allow a take over by the right on this board"....or some such silly thing.

You're the one who appears to be having a problem with the 'other side' enjoying their free speech rights. Got too used to posting only one side of the issues and just agreeing with one another. Now more here are ALSO sharing their side of the issues.

There's no gang...that's all in your mind...just very independent thinking individuals speaking their mind....stating their own opinions.

By the way....I thought you had me on ignore. Since I so offend your sensibilities by stating MY side of any issue.

Nothing wrong with a lively debate is there?

Still, still, no one has answered my question, so I must be on ignore for quite a few ..... what exactly does 'wrapping oneself in the flag' mean? I'm serious!

We have a flag pole and a flag that is put out each day, took down each evening, hey Mikeys a veteran, he says its 'flag ettiquete'... so is that wrapping yourself in the flag?

I think it's meant to be an insult when they say it to us. I've never taken it that way though.

I also don't believe setting our flag on fire is 'nothing' either. To me it shows disrespect to what our country stands for.....but hey...I've been accused of being too supportive of our country, our military, our President. Bad me... LOL

Who left?

Everyone returns, no one leaves for good... at least they had the decency not to post a "I'm Leaving" thread.

"It does bother me that some of you have so much hate and frustration built up towards the American way of life, President Bush and life in general."

Who are you referring to colin? Junque, Helen?? Say what you mean man.

"I'm leaving thread"..HaHaHa

Nearthesea, you asked...

what exactly does 'wrapping oneself in the flag' mean? I'm serious!

Since 9/11 it generally refers to an exaggerated identification with patriotism. On the obvious level, you can see it as flags are displayed everywhere -trees, trucks, houses etc are covered with flags.

And being wrapped in the flag can refer to the use of patriotism to acquire anything that may be considered good for the country. For example flag wrapped patriotism may be used to stifle debate...(as you have seen here). Any question of war or criticism of George Bush leads to the suggestion that the questioner is anti-American. Even Ari Fleisher cautioned Americans to be quiet for the good of the country. In other words, a quiet American is a loyal American.

When everyone was sufficiently quiet, even the budget was wrapped in the flag. The first tax cut ever made during a war was passed by Bush for the wealthy.

Basically anything that is influenced by sentimental patriotism can be referred to as wrapped in the flag. Congress was wrapped in the flag when it gave Bush permission to attack Iraq without UN approval.

Your phrase, wrapping "oneself" in the flag would be a tendency to base your actions and speech on a patriotic belief that your country is headed in the right direction -without question.

I see that too, in fact I see it everywhere I turn, and frankly, I like it. Usually people put out flags on their homes on July 4th, Flag day, those ones, but now? its everyday, and it hasn't stopped.

Even Ari Fleisher cautioned Americans to be quiet for the good of the country. For example, he was suggesting that being a quiet American is a loyal American

Wow, he said that. I like Ari Fleisher, I think he does a good job. IMO.

Did you guys see the President come in off the plane on the USS Abraham? And he did fly 1/3 of the way. They said it is unprecedented for a President to do that, in the middle of the ocean anyway

See NTS, what did I tell you? It's not really an insult...although at times it's intended to sound that way.
God forbid our elected officials should vote to give the President the power to do what he thinks is necessary to protect and defend our country from terrorism.

AND especially WITHOUT getting approval from the UN LOL LOL LOL I hope I don't live to see the day the US needs to get approval from the UN to do whatever it's elected officials feel is in our country's best interest. I don't want a bunch of dictators and socialists telling the US what's allowed. NO WORLD GOVERNMENT!!! US makes their own decisions.

He is usually speaking to me...or am I paranoid? LOLOL!!!

I think that I bother him more than he bothers me though. I don't have "so much hate and frustration toward the American way of life".

He is frequently confused about what I think.

LOL - I don't have a problem with you saying that. I support my country, I show respect to my country's flag and I'm not embarassed about it one bit.

On the other hand, we have those who insist we keep our nations flags from flying freely. Somehow they're of the misguided opinion that someone will be offended if we display them in any public place. LOL

NTS - Of course they were. But...shhhhhh...the mention of democrats giving Bush this power really sets them off, big time. The very very far left feel so betrayed.

That's true, NearTheSea,

Public opinion was so influenced by the propaganda program...fear....false representation that we were in danger of weapons of mass destruction from Iraq,
false links to Iraq as the cause of 9/1l etc.

Saddam might even have a nuclear weapon! There was a big rush and congress was under pressure to make a decision which was politically correct NOW.

I'm back (with a vengeance) and so is the A-hole list. I hope you enjoyed my vacation, a little freedom from my harshness and intimidating antics. (that must be why all the "good" leftist left). ha ha ha.

Been on vacation and it's a busy time of year for me. BUT many of the original will make the list again.

BTW it's not for just the anti-American posters it's for as stated on my site:

"The following are either socialist, anti-American, Morons, old frustrated biddies or just plain everyday a**holes."

I figure some of you that were on the list would rather consider yourself as anti-American.

Why is everything blackmail or black listing? Is it the paranoia?

I enjoy a good surprise but doubt you have the ability to pull off a surprise of any kind. It would take free thinking and imagination. You don't seem to have these qualities.

Thanks for the welcome back Linda. Good to see your fending off the leftist and making the slower ones have to think.

wgm,
Beach was great. Thanks for asking. A real nice week. Rained one day...We needed a break anyway.

Myrtle Beach is an unusual place. I've never seen so many Good to great restaurants. If you don't put on 10 pounds in a week you must have been somewhere else.

did you make it to Suck Bang Blow? (can just imagine the comments this is going to get )

Unfortunately we now have the bike week that follows the Harleys...and it's not near as nice or fun. All the locals stay home for this one, some businesses close down...guess a good time for me to work on some listings LOL
