Yea, The old folks drive me crazy doing 35 in a 55 mph zone.....But the young people driving 110 passing everything on the road is much worst. Most accidents in KY are head on collisions by young people with no insurance and alot of them drunk or on drugs. Lets give the old people a rest compared to the real proplem.

"Sometimes poor reaction times, failing eyesight and cognitive dysfunction are conditions not apparent to the aging individual
Helen, neither are they apparent to a drunk driver... there is no difference between the 2, they both made a choice to drive when they shouldn't have."
The difference is that at some point the drunk driver sat down stone cold sober and decided to start drinking. Almost all of them have a history of drinking and know where it goes. Very few ever go out and crash the first time they ever over indulge. In fact it is often after a long series of years of drunken driving offenses that they finally kill somebody. They might as well have shot at random into a crowd.
The elderly person may not accurately judge their lose of ability. But a drunk just doesn't give a damn.

Seems to me like the numbers ought to tell who is more dangerous. I just wish tailgaters, no matter how old or young, would all have several wheels come off at highway speed.Judging from the number of them on the road, that would do wonders for traffic congestion.
