Who says there is only ONE God?
There can be only one supreme being. It doesn't make a difference what you name Him/Her. One top God. You can have little gods. demigods as if were but only one supreme being. The Boss!!
I always thought this passage told us that all believers had a place. No matter what religion you believed in.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you."

ebag: With like respect, please elaborate. Just because I "interpret scripture" differently than you, doesn't mean I am clueless...oh and, you have no idea whether I teach Sunday school or not,maybe I do,and maybe it's not Sunday school...maybe it's Saturday school, or Tuesday school...

Colin your thought process is illogical. You claim homosexuality is an abomination, yet you quote from the New King James Version. If homosexuality is an abomination as you say. then your nkj is an abomination since King James was a homosexual.
Also, since you quoted Leviticus 20:13, you support killing homosexuals?
Interesting. Pick and choose what to use to support one's hidden agenda.

You know two or three times in the past I haver brought up a question and nobody has ever made any attempt to address it.
Does the bible in saying lie with a man the same as a woman perhaps specifically prohibit buggery and not oral sex? There are a lot of disease/hygenic reasons for thinking that might be so since so many laws were pubic health oriented.
Does nobody really have any opinion on the matter or is it too hot to address at all? Or does it upset people because of the implied extension top heterosexual relationships?

gravid, other explanations or interpretations aren't what the Bible worshipers want to hear because they are happy with the explanation of gays being bad news. Why use your own brain when God's already told you how to live? Why ruin a good thing?

If you believe that ages until death attained that are listed for those early generations you come to the unmistakable conclusion that they were in a much healthier state genetically. If those ages are fiction then the question is pointless as every other statement is suspect. However if their genetic make-up was uncorrupted then the dangers of reinforcing recessive defects was nil.
That is true source of prohibiting incest.
Anything else is a matter of taste.
Who is silly enough to say there is an inborn natural distaste for being intimate with your siblings? Obviously it is something that needs a strong prohibition constantly reinforced. If there was no physical reason for the taboo everything else is learned behavior and a social custom.
OK - flame me and say how repelled you are at the whole idea of having sex with your sister.
But you'd have similar feelings to any female you were raised with and were unaware she was not your 'blood' sister. It's learned. It certainly isn't instinctive. You aren't repelled by somebody with your families nose or other visible features.
How many plays depend on the twist of falling in love with an unknown sibling from whom you were seperated? It is a common theme because it raises conflicting feelings.
(Son don't go near the Indians, please stay away.........)
