Hahaha!!!

I don't know if or how sinister they are/were....but you have previously denied editing for anything except spelling, grammar and to 'make things clearer'.

Here's just one thread. I picked it because it has three edits you made in just one thread. Two complete edits and one edit made about a 1/2 hour after you made the post. Very, very common occurrance.

That's why I won't go 'hunt' for your old posts anymore, helen, to 'prove' something I've said....because it's likely to have been edited out or changed....either than same day...or even *DAYS* later.

I think you both should be concerned that each others health care needs are being met. Without the Helen and Linda show this board might just wither away!

lol What the heck are you doing up so late anyway?

I know...it is really sad we don't have more posting here.

And I LOVE to give helen a hard time. Keeps her on her "intellectual" toes ...or is that her pedestal? I'm not sure.

kpick4u.

"I think you both should be concerned that each others health care needs are being met."

I am very concerned and happy to know that you are concerned also. So many people avoid commenting in order to avoid conflict with a linda harangue. Where, for example, is Cheryl, fenix, and Davebraun and others? I'm sure that they have opinions about this subject.

It's exceedingly frustrating to try to carry on a conversation while fending off linda's incessant bogus charges and silly gossip.

She is a pain in the ass and the reason that I and many others are spending less time here.

Helen

LOL - bogus, helen???? It's a FACT that you go back and edit your posts hours or a few times, days later. Sure makes it easier to say one didn't say something...and ask for 'proof' when the statements have been edited. And I'm not talking about the edits you do within a few minutes of making the posts. We all do those.

stopwhining, when they lost their 'main'income, which was a gift shop specializing in Polish pottery, she found this State Basic Ins. its in WA state. And no, its not medicaid. They go by what your income is, and charge from there.

They now of course sell on ebay

Hey, HEY!!! Stop your arguing! Helen is one of my favorite posters and I feel I must defend her from the claws of you two catwomen!

Again Helen... don't listen to these jealous hens. They're both threatened by your superior beauty and intellegence and can find no other way to get even with you. It's a curse you must live with, I'm afraid.

LOL KD - Yes, someone must come to helen's defense.....but I thought it was *you* who so opposed name calling? Maybe I'm wrong. Has that changed....or is it just according to who's doing the name calling?

We just must post the 'game' rules.

I missed this one:

She is a pain in the ass and the reason that I and many others are spending less time here.

Helen that is so NOT true! If I could dig up threads the way that you can, there are MANY other posters that respect and like Linda, and me included.

It may be that people are spending less time here because its the HOLIDAYS and they are out shopping or other things, wrapping presents, putting up trees, spending time with their families.

I do not see a decrease in YOUR posting here

someone said health insurance industry drive cost up.
back in the old days, the patient paid the doctor and then come home and file the claim form.
now the doctor office has to call the insurance company to verify the record, file the claim form, collect the money ,extra work for the clerk and the copy machine.
bigger file cabinets too.

In addition to that, the health insurance industry depends on high health care costs that most people can't pay to create a market for their product. They make exorbitant profits from high cost premiums while paying doctors and hospitals less that they charge.

Outrageous malpractice premiums also serve to raise costs to raise health care costs.

And that's because some people are against putting 'caps' on malpractice lawsuits that raise those necessary protections for doctors.

Rather than caps only on medical malpractice, how about a cap on the exorbitant premiums with which the insurance industry gouge doctors?

How about a cap on the lawyers fees that drive up the cost of the insurance premiums by filing all these outrageously high lawsuits?

Set a 'cap' on the percentage of their 'take' from the injured. Say 5% instead of the 30-60% they get now. That would reduce insurance premiums greatly.

But....no....can't touch those lawyers. That wouldn't work to well come campaign donation time.

"But....no....can't touch those lawyers. That wouldn't work to well come campaign donation time."

The insurance industry is the "untouchable" Linda...surely you know that. In fact, Bush keeps them always in a state of ecstacy.

It's naive to think that caps on malpractice suits would reduce insurance premiums.

the insurance companies have not been profitable, for years and years.
doctors are not as affluent as before, driving used mercedes or just a plain honda.some are working beyond their retirement years ,some do without malpractice insurance.
what can we do to stop escalating health care cost?first is to take better care of our body, second is to save some money, there are medical providers who would give us a discount for paying cash.
of course the medical industry can stop researching new drug and we will just keep taking the old aspirin, penicillum etc.
last resort is to come to the conclusion we dont live forever, when it is time to go,it is time to go.
all that life prolonging gadgets just prolong suffering and drain someone's pocket book,in the end we all have to go.

I'm right here and I haven't commented on this thread because it's the first time I've bothered to read it. I have to admit though that I zoned out once I realized that it had become another Helen vs Linda spat. It gets tiring to read thread after thread the denegrates into who said what when as opposed to dealing with the issue.

That said - I do take issue with one thing I read here in the early phase....

::The reason they're cheaper is because their companies don't spend the money for Research and Development for NEW drugs, like our drug companies here do.::

For the most part I think that statement is not quite correct. Much of the opposition that US Drug companies has had against opening the borders of Mexico and Canada for prescription drugs is the issue of reimportation. Many of the drugs in question are developed and even manufactured in the US and then shipped to other countries where they are priced according to what they market will allow. In other cases they are simply manufactured overseas but are still developed in the US.

I have to say that Linda and I have debated many an issue on these boards - I enjoy our exchanges because we can differ so vastly in our view on topics without getting into personal confrontations.
