KD - It used to be for the protection and care of the children....anymore I have no clue....since so few see much value in it.

My point to this entire argument is that if the Church and the Republicans are going to uphold the sanctity of marriage...

the church and the *republicans*??? Believe it or not....there are church going, God fearing, democrats who believe in the sanctity of marriage too.

I'm not sure marriage has ever worked. A good partnership doesn't need paperwork or legalities to make it work. I think people are beginning to realize this.
