President Bush was at his best last night, in an hour-long televised speech and news conference on the war on terror.

What a sad statement that is. That was his "best?" The hemming & hawing? The "I don't know?" The "I just don't have an answer?"

If that was his "best" it just shows how bad his usual is. No wonder he avoid pressconferences like the plague!

Let's take bunni's question #2 for example.

The question was: "What's your best prediction on how long U.S. troops will have to be in Iraq? "

"We'll be there as long as it takes" and "that's up to the general" does not answer the question. The question asked for Bush's prediction, as in "we hope to be out in ___ months" for example. And, what, his general isn't telling him how it's going, how long it might take to get the job done? Or is it going to be 20 years before we get our troops out of there? Maybe it'll be like Japan & Germany--50 years later & we still have bases over there. Or is he just leaving it all up to the general & doing nothing himself? What?

The journalist also asked "And it sounds like you will have to add some troops. Is that a fair assessment?"

Answering that it's all upto the general, and giving qualifiers like "may" and "if" doesn't answer the question.

And what's up with Bush saying that every single thing over there is up to the generals, like he has no say in the matter? Like he's just a spectator? He kept saying "I will do what they say."

seal-clubbing Canadians hated it.

Lol, ebayauctionguy!

You sound like one of those guys that crosses the border and comes into my shop when it's 100 deg outside and you show up in a fur-lined parka and heavy boots with skis on your vehicle, looking all confused. Hahahahaha.....

"Eight hundred and eighty Iraqis have been killed since the beginning of April"

Good those Marines are doing one hell of a job.

"My question is, do you think his hair was back-combed last night?"

No. he just received word what the Vietnam Vets have in store For Stolen Valor Kerry.

President Bush did a great job. One thing for sure you can't admit to a mistake when you haven't made one.
