Linda: And CNNs numbers also showed bush ahead of kerry by one point.

forgot to mention that fact.

Yes you also forgot to mention the poll has a margin of error of +/- 5 points.

If you guys are goin to give figure make sure you tell the entire polls results.

What difference do these poll make now. These polls are meaningless now. I would give more weight to them if this was the end of October. The only poll that will matter is the one held on election day.

Re-defeat Bush

Billmon

Of course, it took incompetence and dishonesty on a titantic scale -- the most disastrous military adventure since the Gulf of Tonkin (if not the Austro-Hungarian ultimatum to Serbia), the biggest federal deficit in history, the worst job creation record since Herbert Hoover, the worst military atrocity story since My Lai, etc. etc. But we finally got there.

Over half of all Americans, 54%, are bothered "a great deal" about the abuse, and another 25% are bothered a "fair amount." Twenty percent are not bothered, with 11% saying "not much," and 9% saying "not at all."

Few Americans (23%) say they can imagine circumstances that justify this type of behavior by U.S. soldiers, while most, 73%, say there are no circumstances that justify this type of behavior.

While some commentators have suggested the actions of the U.S. soldiers involved were just "harmless pranks," most Americans reject that characterization. Instead, 71% say the actions are serious offenses that deserve criminal punishment.
