logansdad-I am so sorry about that I thought you wanted an answer and I couldn't thing of one so I came up with that one. I hope it brought a chuckle to you.
Here is the Hippocratic Oaths. They were to long to copy so I just put the url's down. Note in the Classical version it talks about abortion. I don't know what the oath the nurses take.
Classical Version
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/doctors/oath_classical.html I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

LIbra - grow up. This is big boys and girls world where people debate concepts. Point out one place anywhere in the last three pages where I said a damn about you personallyin a professional capacity.
This is EXACTLY what I was talking about when I said that you are too miopic. This discussion has not had a single thing to do with you or any other specific individual. It has been about the concept of what types of behaviors this law allows of EVERY medical profesiional. If you took this all to be some kind of indictment of yourself, well, that sounds like a personal problem to me.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

You were not debating with me. You were trying to tell me something that you knew nothing about. Well you thought you knew..
Myopic- I do have foresight and this world is going to be nothing but laws soon if the world continues as it is. The reason for the laws is because the old ones aren't inforced or some irresponsible person doesn't like a certain law and tries to change it to their specifications. If you tell a Physician how he has to practice his medicine soon there will be no doctors. Canada here we come. You were the one that brought the subject up and I said what according to my profession what I can and cannot do.
You and the rest are big boys and girls? Well that is a debate in itself...

Yeah well, we are not the ones that interpreted a political discussion as a personal attack then called the other person stupid and made a ridiculous attempt to insult their mother now are we?
As for you being being myopic... it has nothing to do with foresight- I was talking about your inability to discern between a political discussion and a personal indictment.

I did not insult your mother. I commended her to go back to work after retirement. I can speak from experience that Hospitals do not employ the number of employees they need to run a department so there fore they have to run their **** off to get the work done. I am sorry you took that wrong but that is what happens in an x-ray department. Rad Techs are hard to find. It is a tough job, at least it was when I was one. Maybe things have changed but I doubt it since there is a shortage of Techs.
All I was trying to tell you that Rad Techs do not descriminate but you kept bringing up the subject and I said we do not descriminate so finally I had to show you.
This discussion has to do with specific people, Physicians, Nurses, etc.
Now you have insulted me by saying grow up. So what is the difference.

LIbra - I know what you were trying to say. The problem is that you assume that everyone is like you and the people that you worked with. Unfortunately in this world, not everyone is tolerant of differences and this law gives the intolerant legal protection to express that intolerance in the workplace.
Telling you to grow up in direct response to the way you handled this dicussion. I was speaking in generalities and you took it all as a personal attack coming back saying that I am stupid and that my mother must have no ethics (And BTW - that statement did not have a damn thing to do with work level- that was a personal attack pure and simple). Anyone who resorts to that level in a political discussion, deserves to be told to grown up.
