I beg your pardon I did not say I was not in favor of after school programs...I said with the "No Child Left Behind" there are after school programs now. Why do we need more.I am not in favor of after school programs that help the 2 working members of a family that live beyond their means. Do you understand. I don't know how many times I have to say that. The after school programs in place are for the needy and to help the behind student with their studies. I am not in favor of helping families with 2 working parents that can afford daycare that will take advantage of it be they live beyond their means.

All of you go in and read "No Child Left Behind" and you can read it for your self.

No refunds from me crowfarm as I also paid taxes for 52 years with only 1 child.

Notice when you say money how many people rush in. To late crowfarm asked first and first come first served but sorry crowfarm I am on SS and can't afford it. I paid my way....all of it.....

Fenix you get upset with me because I use
2n's in Fenix and crowfarm calls you a male and you smile. go figure...
Why do we need more? Answer that question.

HUH? I think someone might be overly defensive. Unless you think that BTW means something other than By The Way I'm a little baffled as to how you have managed to think I was upset with you.

I am still waiting to hear the factual information that would support your claims that bussing applies to private schools and that increased funding to keep public schools open later would also have to be given private and parachial schools though. I figure if you made the assertion twice you must have the facts to back it up.

Well If I was able to get the information I would. Since I have moved I am unable to get certain webpages, like the ones on Yahoo. In fact the only things I can get is ebay and vendio. My mailbox doesn't work either. So now you know the story but rest assured I will get it for you when I get it fixed.

Linda: Issues like this are one's I don't agree with and see them as bring more socialism into play in our country

So how is Kerry's plan any different from Bush's plan to help married couples and the marriage institution. If I remember correctly you were all in favor of Bush's plan.

White House Plans to Promote 'Healthy Marriages'
By Melanie Hunter
CNSNews.com Deputy Managing Editor
January 14, 2004

(CNSNews.com) - The White House is planning to spend $1.5 billion to promote healthy marriages, and President Bush could announce plans for the proposal next week in his State of the Union address.

The measure would go towards training to help couples develop interpersonal skills that sustain "healthy marriages," especially among low-income couples.

Conservatives are also urging the president to defend traditional marriage, after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court's decision on same-sex marriage.

The Family Research Council (FRC) welcomed the "Healthy Marriages" initiative.

"As the author of the nation's first covenant marriage law - which seeks to help couples avoid divorce and have successful marriages - I am quite pleased that the Bush Administration recognizes that marriage promotion is a worthy aim of the federal government," said FRC President Tony Perkins Wednesday.

"The institution of marriage is not only deserving of protection, but also promotion," said Perkins. "Every study out there proves that households based on a strong marriage relationship are without question the best environment for both adults and children, and our nation will only benefit from a government program that bolsters marriage in this bold way.

"For every $1,000.00 we spend on public programs addressing family breakdown, we only spend one dollar trying to prevent that breakdown in the first place. The President's initiative puts the emphasis in the right place - prevention," Perkins added.

Re-defeat Bush

Change is constant. The history of mankind is about change. One set of beliefs is pushed aside by a new set. The old order is swept away by the new. If people become attached to the old order, they see their best interest in defending it. They become the losers. They become the old order and in turn are vulnerable. People who belong to the new order are winners.

This is from Linda's post. "Furthermore, Bush is seeking additional increases -- not cuts -- in "key education programs" next year. His budget calls for a 9.8% increase for programs for low-income children, to $15.2 billion, and a 5.9% increase in funding for special education, to $12.1 billion."

So Bush IS spending money on something Linda doesn't want !!!And blames it on Kerry! Boy, she ran herself around a corner so fast she bumped into her own butt.

Ah Linda, now is this statement above true because you used it or false because I used it
I'm outta here..you're outnumbered already and out IQ'd anyway!

Can't/won't answer my questions....just keep asking me more of your own and expect that I should answer all of them. It works both ways guys and gals - or it doesn't work for me at all.

crawfarm - Having the ability to support my statements with facts - is much more important to me than being in the majority around here. I'll take that any day over being in your position where you can't backup the false statements you continue to make.

Re-elect President Bush!!

In my County we have have an unemployment 2.8%. We did a study on how to keep grade schools and middle schools open until 9pm.
It was much the same as what kerry has proposed. To do so in this Nation would cost 100% tax increase in local personal property taxes & income taxes just to keep them open. kerry is whistling to the wind if he thinks increasing federal tax on $200,000 INCOME & above will help will help pay for nurses, security, maintenance, meals, heat, a/c, lights, teachers insurance and you name it.

This is a Democratic County I live in. I have an elected seat on the County Council.
60% of the working house hold both parents working. 10% are single house holds.

When the County Citizens found out the cost even with projected Federal kick in of 50% they went nuts.

Linda - what I don't underatand is how when only 2% of all americans are on welfare you have decided that these options should be denied to all kids based d on the fact that a little over 1% (not all of those on welfare have kid) should be denied the opportunity to lear n a little more, become more productive and therefore lessen the welfare numbers in future generation. Or do you only give a damn about taxes for as long as you are around?

Of course after the past couple years of US military history I think that voluntary enlistment of anyone with other options is going to drop drastically. It almost makes sense that conservatives want to deny youths as many possibilities as possible. It's the only way to make sure you'll still have people signig up and available when they decide to attack the next country whose religion they don''t like.

I quoted Linda's post. "Furthermore, Bush is seeking additional increases -- not cuts -- in "key education programs" next year. His budget calls for a 9.8% increase for programs for low-income children, to $15.2 billion, and a 5.9% increase in funding for special education, to $12.1 billion."

Then Linda posts, "crawfarm - Having the ability to support my statements with facts - is much more important to me than being in the majority around here. I'll take that any day over being in your position where you can't backup the false statements you continue to make."

Uh,Linda, that quote above is directly from one of your posts. So you did answer my question...if I post it it's a lie and when you post the same thing it's the truth. Now I understand your reasoning abilities....I think.

And, why if Bush spends more it's OK and when Kerry proposes to spend more it's bad.
Ok, I think I got it now, thanks.
