Kiara... love the picture..Oh I get it... like humour... but different....

Ya, more like humor.

Gotta watch that Canuck/UK/American spellin' if you really live in South Mississippi or someone here may think you're from ....... gulp..... Canada!

I'm thinking Canada, Kiara. I saw the spelling too and also think Maggie Muggins is a Canadian storybook character from the 30's or 40's. There's dolls too so maybe she's a doll collector. (??)

I say British. I saw the spelling with the extra U but Muggins, isn't that a Harry Potter character? Or some British character, maybe out of Mary Poppins?

I learned how to spell humor in Mississippi as humour. Someone immediately declared that I was from England and started a thread to reveal that "startling" information to everyone.

I think you're correct about the doll, Kraft.

I remember that one, Helen. Wasn't that the one where they asked you what TV show was playing at a certain time?

You've got a great memory Kiara - that was hilarious!

Kraft, I remember that one because at the time I wondered how I had been spelling the word here. I realized years ago that it was spelled both ways in the US and had never paid much attention to it until that thread.

I noticed last week that twelvepole spells it "humourous".

Right! Ebayauctionguy started it.

Helen is a Brit.

Only a neocon would base a person's country of origin on how they spell humor.

LOL

Well...thank you Maggie, for whatever part I've had in entertaining you and adding to your laughter...you are quite welcome.

I agree....laughter is good....and it's also very healthy and I too enjoy a good laugh or two posting/reading here. Maybe you'd like to consider joining our 'little family'?

But I would disagree on whether anyone 'hears' our voices or not. Our privilege to vote is how we 'speak' our views. Here we just come together to get a little insight to how the 'other' side views the issues - and tell them how wrong they are for thinking that way.

Re-elect President Bush!!

LMHO Helen! So many had a major crush on you. I especially like the part where EAG says "I will say this though, helen is one of the most polite posters on this board and that is one of the main reasons I suspect helen of being an imposter."

I've missed all the fun today!!! Dag nabbit!

Well, I dont care (I've had the bestest most incredible day!!) and will be back later to catch up on all this.

Like to add to the thread: Maggie we are important round here.....lol...don't you watch the news??!! See our words and energies wing long and far...

Also just because I wont get back here anytime soon:

BigPeepa: What'd you send to Bush?
Talk about gettin your Irish up!! wsssshuuu...

Thanks for finding that again, Helen. It was fun reading it over.

I can tell EAG is truly in awe of you.

I will say this though, helen is one of the most polite posters on this board and that is one of the main reasons I suspect helen of being an imposter. Add British spellings of words, left-leaning politics, European news sources and I had good reason to suspect that she was a Brit!

BTW, you are very polite most of the time and I noticed that long ago.

edited to say that Kraft beat me to it.... hahahaha

Thanks, kiara

It's only when I'm trying to defend myself from some silly allegation that I get bent out of shape.

That thread was funnier than I remembered.

I am very flattered by the interest in my origins.. it pleases me that so far I have been pronounced an Oriental..thank you Kraftdinner, a Canadian (Canuk)... thank you Kiara, and a Brit.. thank you too, Nearthesea, and if I am not mistaken, Kraftdinner.. was even coming on to me..telling me how good looking she/he is..
LOL...anyone with any smarts could see that I am not polite enough to be any of the above.HA!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why so many were bent out of shape.. with my original post.. It was pure flattery! You can't compliment people or let them know how amusing you find them.. without pinching a nerve! LOL...

The point I was trying to make.. simply stated....is that I find it entertaining to see people post their political and moral views on a board like this... and then get outraged when others don't agree with them..then the battle begins..with the name calling, and the mud slinging, then the call of the troops to rally and fight off the intruder... come on.. you have to see the humor/humour..
I'm not being rude. Your views and opinions are insignificant, but tremendously entertaining, just the same. Mags

Helen

I remember that thread, LOL! I guess that really would have made you "un-American".

Maggie

I'll add Irish to the mix. Heck, why not. My grandmother was Irish and had just your tone.

And, we will be heard - through the vote in November. I don't expect this one will be fixed.

maggiemuggins, thanks for coming back and welcome to the board. Just one slight correction with your reading comprehension though. I said that someone may think you are from Canada. I did not pronounce you a Canuck. Big difference.

Your original post said:

I could see you all teetering on your little soap boxes, arms and fists flailing, faces in hues of red and purple, sweat forming little puddles on your clothes, screaming at the top of your lungs, "Hear Me" "Hear Me" " Will somebody listen to me" Kind of pathetic, but endearing all the same..

Remember, that's what you see when you read this board. It doesn't mean that the rest of us see what you do, we are all different. Though I will admit that I've been pathetic on occasion.

BTW just so you know, I'm not one that is bent out of shape over this at all. In fact I find it very amusing but I am usually easily amused.

LOL, Cheryl...we used to have so much fun here.

Spelling is only one way to identify trolls and puppets etc. Also examine punctuation, spaces, parentheses and sentence structure. There are so many ways to spot such characters including favorite words etc. It's really very interesting.

Amen on the voting!

kiara

I see it as a rather nonsensical concept and certainly nothing to be concerned about. After all, we didn't start the thread. That's maggiemuggins problem or not...whatever.

Actually, it's a good break from all the other chickenshit.

That was one of my observations in that other thread you posted a link to, Helen.... I was amused that the word chickenshit was okay to post here. Not that I would ever think of hooking words together though.
