Sh!t, Dave, I just heard on the news that the Republicans are looking into the laws concerning postponing an election!!!!
Well,Big Ed said they will stop at nothing to win!
Isn't this just a public admission that they ARE planning an attack just so they CAN postpone the elections?????

Republican Rep. Christopher Cox of California, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee told CNN"These are doomsday scenarios. Nobody expects that they're going to happen," he said. "But we're preparing for all these contingencies now."
WASHINGTON - Indications are that al-Qaida leadership, not some lower level supporters acting on their own, are behind the suspicions of a large-scale terrorist attack against the United States ahead of the presidential elections, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge told NBC News on Friday.

For four years we've been subjected to "terror alerts" that cite "credible but non-specific intelligence." These occur whenever a) things quiet down in Iraq or b)things aren't going well for Bush. Gets everyone in a lather...then it's never mentioned again. No call to step down from alert, no post-threat explanation, nada. Now this. Guess things REALLY aren't going well for Bush...

The entire election process is to long in my opinion. We should have one day in the spring where every state choose a candidate from each party and then have the vote in November to choose the winner between the two candidates.
At the start of the election process the candidates are given x amount of money and that is all they are allowed to get. They can spend it any way that they wish, but they are unable to receive any more money during their campaign. This would be the best way to keep the rich from buying an election and keep government interest groups out of the policital process.
Now that would be election reform. Both candidates start out at the begining be equal. Let the best man win.

Many people would be scared away from the poles. No one would have faith in the election results. If you think the 2000 election tore us apart, imagine what a second contested election because of terrorist attacks woulld do."
"It's smart and necessary to have contingency plans for such an occasion. I don't trust the Bush administration at all, but even Al Gore would have prepared for this contingency."

Great post, Helen!Especially Al's quote....he must've known Linda.
Oh, the present administration is drawing up plans for their very own "terrorist" attacks. They will be behind them. They will do anything to win.

Just listen to all this ....it's like every dem here thinks preparing our country for exactly what happened in Spain ....means, without doubt, it's the way the Bush administration will steal the election.
And one totally mad, whacked, as in 'nuts' poster, says: I wonder if they're busy doing surveys so that the city they bomb or blow up will be predominantly Democrats?
And this is who we are expected to look to, and choose their candidate, because THEY have enough mental stability to decide who would be best to run this Nation?
oh brother.....
Re-elect President Bush!!

My turn for a cut-n-paste:
-----------------------------------
SPEARFISH -- Sen. Tom Daschle, D-S.D., said Thursday that he was very concerned about homeland security issues in the face of what he called the most sobering terror report he had heard recently.
The United States is tightening security in the face of a steady stream of intelligence indicating an attack aimed at disrupting elections, the White House said Thursday.
The Department of Homeland Security is addressing the threat and has efforts underway to ''ramp up security,'' White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Thursday.
"It is absolutely essential for the U.S. Senate to turn its attention to what we can do to make America safe," Daschle said.
Of particular concern are the nation's borders and ports, Daschle said, and there are security issues unresolved as the homeland security appropriations are "hung up" in the Senate.
Asked if the timing of the terror concerns might be aimed at stealing political thunder from the announcement of John Edwards as the democratic vice presidential candidate, Daschle replied, "The report is so sobering and so serious that I cannot bring myself to believe anyone in this administration would use this for political purposes." [* Note]
Daschle said the most recent terror briefing was the second this week and contained information that there is a higher threat than there has been at any time since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

And yeah, it worked in Spain, of course they are going to try it here if they think there is any chance at all of succeeding.

Hi Linda, One wondered when you would show up. One didn't know you knew Albert Einstein?
One wonders why you are so insulting..."And one totally mad, whacked, as in 'nuts' poster".
One wonders when your grammar will improve...."And this is who we are expected to look to, and choose their candidate, because THEY have enough mental stability to decide who would be best to run this Nation?"
No,linda, you are not expected to choose our candidate.

Logan - candidates are fund limited as of their nomination. This is why the Dems considered not holding a delegate vote at their convention in order to help them conserve their resources since the republicans pushed their convention back until the beginning of September.
Of course that does not stop soft money ads... you know the ones... Paid for by Cititzens for the Ethical Treatment of Organic Fruit, Citizens for the Preservation of the 50's Family Model, etc.
Come on guys - am I really the only person here that watches West Wing? Third season - the "Magic Words" episode (Don't remember the actual epsode name but with both Ron Silver and Oliver Platt guesting, you just know it was great.)

Ya but, Ha ha, Linda, I'm happily mentally ill and you're a nasty, soul dead, mean-spirited, lonely, evil mentally ill.

I did wonder that myself initally - when cf first came aboard and focused directly on my posts - with vengence. But have decided, no - not possible - as cf doesn't write as articulately as she did...and cf rambles too much to be her.

Here's Linda's lesson in being articulate,
"And this is who we are expected to look to, and choose their candidate, because THEY have enough mental stability to decide who would be best to run this Nation? "
And, no, linda, it isn't all about you.
I replied to your posts because you were so wrong in everything you said. Most of the others, except for twelve, were much smarter, made better points, and weren't so hate-filled. I like torturing mean people.

crowfarm - Hatefilled? That's a laugh - especially coming from you. You come on these threats and spew your hate for everyone that disagrees with you. Having a different opinion is NOT hateful.
But I will offer you a warning. You have previously mentioned that you hold the absolutely insane opinion that this President and/or his administration were the one's who attacked the WTC - 9-11. Now you have said you think they will again bomb this country....and only the dems if they can manage it.
Better watch your words here....you never know when some 'lurker' is going to forward these links to the FBI and the dems greatest fear might come true.....you'll disappear in the middle of the night ... never to be heard from again.
Or someone might just forward a link of your continuing slanderous statements about Ann Coulter and her sex life too, directly to her.
Vendio has your personal information....and if she decides to make an example of you.....you might find yourself in great need of a defense lawyer.
Better think about what you say before you say it.....you never know who's lurking

Bravo Linda! You have now joined the ranks of the like of weenie boy and CC... you are nothing but a rat... you have now shown your true colors... sneaky big fat rat... you remind me of the little sneaky kids in grade school who would run and tell the teacher on someone every chance they got.. if it squeals like a pig.. it must be a pig..

OOOOHHH LINDA, I shan't sleep a wink all night worried about how much attention Action Annie and the FBI pay to this IMPORTANT chat room.
But you may be right(pun intended) with the "Patriot" Act we should all be fearful of being accused of anything by anybody and be locked away never to be heard from again. It does provide for that.
Ahh The American way!
Oh, sorry, I forgot to add that if anybody was that low and slimey to drop a dime on someone, Linda it would be you....you'd sell your mother you're so nasty.
Sweet dreams!

Maggie - PAT....
Do you really think I care? LOL If you do....you'd be WRONG.
These posts come up on common 'google' searches so anyone can read them....not just those who lurk here.
And if you hold the position that anyone can make any insane accusation they wish to.....like crowfarm did about this this President, or his administration, be the one's who bomb this country....and expect they shouldn't be held accountable for their words.....then you're just not dealing in reality.
You just might want to read about slander and libel to be more clear on the issues - since it appears to escape your comprehension or sensibilites.

I have stayed out of this as much as possible but I just cannot help pointing out the irony of someone who calls another poster "weenieboy" and uses terms like"big, fat, stinky rat" saying that someone else reminds them of a grade school student.
