well, Bush

I was checking out LaRouche and Nadar, but no

I was at Olympias Lakefair 2 weeks ago, and some gothic looking gal came up to me and she worked for La Rouche, and started talking Armegeddon and Kerry and gave us literature.... woaw what a bunch of horseshit.

Then Nadar, well, no, he is not even or ever going to get close, so why is he there

so, its Bush again

I mean Edwards is good lookig and all, but then Bush does look better than Kerry....I know, that is not the reason for voting for someone, but I think its Bush who can finish the job he stared

so, with that, my vote will go Bush Cheney
and i've been drinking, and sitting outside, but it will be so tommorow and after that. Mikey even agreed to have a Bush sign in our yard! We have the bumper stickers already, but I think most in our neighborhood are Bush people

Ok have a good weekend I'm gonna be gone, for a while, VACATION!!!!

my kid is sending her hubby over here to borrow my DVD cold mtn!!! wtf

ok see ya'll later BUSH CHENEY yes!
Now spend some time out there, great summer so far!!!!!!

I have voted primarily a straight republican ticket most of my adult life. This year, however with all the troubles created by the Bush administration, I am voting for John Kerry!

True Americans do not exclude anybody. They recognize that everyone should have the same rights. Bigotry, intolerance and hatred are cancers of the mind.

Unless something miraculous happens, I'll more than likely vote Republican. I think Colin Powell should be running. Moderate, like us.

Voting for Nader would be throwing my vote away...like voting for Perot.

(Maybe I should be registered as an Independent? Can they vote in the primaries?)

twig, after President Bush wins in Nov, I see Cheney resigning for health and Colin Powell getting the nod...

NTS good decision... Change now is would not be good for the country and especially who they want to change to.

Hey TerryAnn, this Democratic agrees. Colin Powell is a good man. He just got mixed up with a bad crowd that wouldn't listen to him. I didn't like seeing a good man's reputation hurt. Powell is a good soldier and did what he was told. Its a shame that Bush/Cheney have hurt so many good people.

I like Powel as well. However, he wouldn't run for president when he was urged to because he felt his race would cause a danger so I don't think he would accept the vice presidency. It's a shame in this day and age that that would be an issue for anyone. I was surprised at he would have taken a position in the Bush administration. A good man's reputation has been ruined.

I know I'm going to get "something" for this....He's black, but not dark. So possibly this would not be as offensive to those "not quite ready" for a black president?
I like him and believe race should not be an issue.

So maybe you're finally coming around to the "right" side...

The "venom" was spoken by the Bush administration when they lied to the U.N Security Council, the world and to the American people.

There was a time when I admired Powell also
But when he agreed to trot out these lies he became this administration's lapdog and he sold his soul.

Both the transcript and the video is available here....

TerryAnn, I also believe race should not be an issue. When you saw the faces in the crowd at the Democrats convention you saw what America looks like today. Its the Democrats that are trying to make one America. I hope you can see that the Republicans are the ones using wedges to divide the American people. When I say that I am an American first and a Democrat second.
Please believe me when I say, I believe its your business who you vote for and not mine or anyone else's business. All I ask is before you cast your vote take a long hard look at the issues of both parties. I sure am glad you posted your thoughts on this board and please come back often.

I agree, of course, that race should have no bearing on our estimation of Powell.

Obama's brilliance, for example is not enhanced or diminished by the fact that he is black.

No, twelvepole.

Hannity appeals to those poor gullible souls who read Fox news. Some of his moronic statements can be found here.

I was out visiting my mule today, and spoke to the man who owns the ranch she is staying at. He's in his 60's and said that although he'd voted a straight Republican ticket all his life, this time he is voting for Kerry. Said that Bush is an all around disaster & likely to get us involved in a huge war if he goes on like he is. Doug said he was sorry as all get-out that he voted for Bush last time. Also went on to say that, looking back on what Clinton achieved, he was a great president--"had the morals of a tomcat, but did a great deal for the country as a whole". He also said that, even though he himself is a Republican, he feels that Bush is two-faced and doesn't give a rip for this country. He's saddened by the mess Bush has gotten us into.

neroter - I can't speak for whites....and I can't speak personally for blacks on your question of:

do you believe whites apply their prejudice in shades of blackness? If so, what leads you to believe that?

but I've read articles on that subject that say there is that prejudice in the black community....amongst themselves...with the 'lighter' blacks being more 'desired'.

Hi Linda. Yes, I've heard that in tv or movies or (wherever) amongst blacks themselves. I just didnt know whites did that? It would seem to me if you didnt like black(s) or had a problem with them in political positions, the shade of blackness lighter/darker doesnt have any bearing here because a problem with racial prejudice goes beyond color.

That's wrong, Linda to see a prejudiced viewpoint within the black community and then suggest that therefore it's acceptable for people outside that community to judge people based on the shade of their skin.

Just ignore helen....she always tries to imply something I meant [according to her] when I didn't. Always attempts to make me look like a racist. Doesn't bother me...I'm not...and *I* know it.

I just didnt know whites did that?

Well...I don't really know in that particular situation. But I have had many say how beautiful my youngest granddaughter is....how they love her skin color...makes her look like she has a permanent tan. She's 1/2 white and 1/2 Asia [Japanese]....so it could be ??? the same to some in the many 'shades' of black.

Actually, what Powell said himself in his autobiography was that he feared danger for himself and his family. That nuts would try to take them out.
