LOL! No real recipe - basically just enough water to dilute the smell of the rubbing alcohol... maybe 25%.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Thanks for the helpful info Fenix. There's a place in the city that makes one piece SS counters and sinks that I was thinking of getting a quote from, but if they're a pain, forget it!

Kraft, I have a SS stove that is 15 years old and I love it. It does show boil-overs and such, but it wipes right off with a damp sponge. I used to have a white porcelain stove and spent more time than I care to remember keeping it polished. Guess it all depends upon how OCD you are. My SS doesn't show the chips and bruises from dropped pans.

But for my money, my next stove is going to have sealed burners!

I don't think anything could be worse than black.. I have all appliances in black and finger prints, drips etc.. all show.
I don't have an actual stove.. just a black glass counter top stove top.. which I love, very clean and easy to wipe up. My oven is in the wall. I hate my side by side refrigerator, and would much prefer the freezer on the bottom style.. I think the ss appliances are lovely. So stay away from black or you'll be wiping fingerprints for ever.. Maggie
