Crowfarm, have you ever had friends that had ideas diabolically opposed to your own but still liked them, or do you only choose to talk to people who's minds work the same way as yours? Grow up.

I'm sorry you have such a weird idea about friends, Kraft.
I don't have friends who are racist...I'm not as desperate as some to lower my standards so my "friend" count is high. There are plenty of DECENT people to befriend. I leave scumbags alone....you can have them for YOUR friends.
I don't hang around with child molesters or murderers either but maybe you like them.
I don't have to "grow up" but maybe you should reflect on your values.....unless you think "growing up" means becoming a racist.

Crowfarm, people are racist (or whatever) for a reason. Just because you or I don't believe it's right, doesn't mean their ideas are any less valuable than our own. My whole family were racists. That's the way things were back then. Doesn't mean they weren't good people in other ways. You seem too eager to dismiss people if they don't live up to certain standards. That seems narrow minded to me.

The idea of racism as "valuable" is ridiculous.
Seems to me you have no standards.
If someone hates cats and red cars and I love cats and red cars we can still be quite good friends.
But racism, for decent people, is more than a slight personality characteristic.
If someone is a racist(see, Kraft, racism is a bad thing, maybe not to you but to most people) I do not want to befriend them....there are decent people, lots of them, to befriend. Maybe you just haven't looked hard enough for them or haven't had much contact with them so can't appreciate them like I do.
I take it in your broad-minded grown up way that you like child molesters, too?

Crowfarm, where did I say racism was valuable? I said there is value in a person's ideas, whether they're yours or mine or whether you agree with them or not. How will I ever understand racism, greed, terrorism, the religious right, hypocrites, etc., if I close myself off from these people? If I just bunch them all up and label them as scum, what good does that do? Is their plight against me any less valuable than mine or yours is against them? Is insulation from all "bad" people the goal? That's just not for me, Crowfarm.
As for Classic being a racist, I haven't seen it. He's never been rude or unkind to me (unless we talk politics, which is fair game), so I have no need to be rude back to him, especially just because you think he's a racist.
