If we collected every debt we've ever loaned out to every country on this planet(INCLUDING CANADA) since world war II we'd come out way ahead,so why should I feel guilty?

No, you shouldn't feel guilty. You should feel uneasy. YOU are the one paying this debt back. You and your children and their children and their children. No, you shouldn't feel guilty.
Bush is asking for another $80 million. Iraq - it's your war, you're paying for it.

How do you figure that profe? You talked to them personally?
Deficits during war time are not uncommon, as war is very expensive, it does however create jobs.
This will pass, so no it doesn't bother me.

And may find another reason America needs to get along.........

I shudder. This won't continue. The world economy is turning from using the US dollar as it's benchmark. Consider Iraq as a bit of OJT for our Armed Forces. The real war is being fought in the financial markets and the pocketbooks of consumers. When Russians start hoarding euros instead of dollars, watch out. I have alleged before that the prime crime of Iraq was the idea of switching from dollars to euros for oil payments. OK, now Iraqi WMD's are suddenly a problem that has to be dealt with RIGHT NOW. And calling politicians to task for lying is like blaming the dog for farting.
Parklane recommends BUY euros and yuans, SELL dollars. The dollar is becoming the cotton candy of monies. Rainy days are coming.

Nice to see you back Bigpeepa! I can't understand how Americans still believe this guy. Osama's goal is to bankrupt the U.S. and Bush is claiming there's no exit plan in the next 4 years for Iraq. How much more will that cost? Doesn't that leave the U.S. vulnerable to an attack having most of it's healthy troops elsewhere? Would the U.S. economy be able to afford another 911? How can a war on terrorism ever end to gain back the deficit when Bush himself said the war will never end? What am I missing?

BY TERENCE HUNT
ASSOCIATED PRESS
Bush mixed up the budget and deficit numbers when asked about money requests he would make in his budget proposal Feb. 7. "It turned out that the budget was $412 billion for last year," he said. That's the figure the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office cited for the deficit last year.
"Now, the budget is projected to be at $427 billion," he added. Again, that's the figure the White House projects for this year's deficit.

To the Iraqis who face daily attacks from insurgents, Bush said: "Clearly, there are some who are intimidated. I urge people to vote. I urge people to defy these terrorists."
Easy for him to say, it's not his life on the line, is it?

Hey KD - Didn't Canada have somewhere around a $640 deficit before Martin came into office?
I thought I'd read that he was making great strides with getting your deficit down. Keep your eyes peeled....in the next four years our's will be going down too. But meanwhile we'll probably have to listen to all the lefties here complaining that their 'favorite' programs aren't getting proper funding.

And here's another view of our debt....
America's Declining Debt
January 26, 2005 | |
Over the next few weeks, the unveiling of new budget forecasts, as well as President Bush's budget proposal, will be followed by predictable, sky-is-falling coverage of the “ record budget deficits” that threaten to force up interest rates and devastate the economy. Many people will say that only tax increases can avert this calamity.
Don't believe them.
America's debt burden is actually below the post-World War II average. In fact, it's lower than at any time during the high-flying 1990s.
The misunderstanding flows from the obsessive focus on the budget deficit, which is not the proper measure of the debt burden.
Here's why:
