LOL fenix - I really do see now...no doubt about it...it's the new game with the lefties here. It's MY fault because THEY make assumptions...and don't ask before placing blame.

I'll start worrying about how people here see me when the 'righties' start challenging me on things I have never said.

Some words of wisdom I think all of us can use:

“Remember that I’m Human. Before you judge me or decide how you’ll deal with me, walk awhile in my shoes. If you do, I think you’ll find with more understanding we can meet in the middle and walk the rest of the way together.”
-- Eric Harvey and Steve Ventura: Walk Awhile in My Shoes

Linda

You certainly have to agree your choice of wording, not necessarily your words, was not good. You may not have meant it as it sounded, but you have also been known to judge people by their wording. God back and really re-read what you first wrote and quit thinking we're blaming you for everything. You're beginning to sound paranoid.

Cheryl

"No drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power." ~ P.J. O'Rourke

linduh's a racist ......simple as that.
Her rsponse, "It wouldn't surprise me at all, libra, with all the Muslim people here."

...proves that.....

she only pretends to be SO happy for the Iraqi people but what she's really doing is shining up bush's little gold star....she supports torturing these people! She doesn't give a rat's patoot what happens to them and her racist post just prove that.

cheryl - I'm going to say this one last time. I have repeatedly stated that in written word I am not as articulate as some here. I have apologized over and over for my poorly worded posts. I have admitted that between my typing skills, spelling and grammar I do not always get my point across the way I'd like to.

Should I make that admission my tag line? How much would be enough for the lefties here...how much groveling do I need to do to feed the hunger of those who feel so superior?

I think I get my point across pretty well most times even with my writting deficiencies.

But I don't need to go back and re-read my post. I stated what my first thought was. Nothing wrong with that. I'm really not into being PC. I think this threat is VERY real. And I did NOT say what I have been accused of....even though it appears to be the 'new' game in town here.

Linda ::I think I get my point across pretty well most times even with my writing deficiencies::

lol. You write much better than most here. You do express your point quite well, imo. But you seem to forget no matter what you scribble to this board, you are here for the benefit of the lefties to poke holes at. That is their mission. Surely you know that?

It doesnt matter the fact you said "maybe women" [in the military] because you were unsure if they have lifted the women in combat restriction. What matters is you were unsure, and for all your posting on this board about military affairs, now we get to believe you didnt know there were women in the armed forces at all!!? ya, I'm right in alignment with that one.

As far as this thread goes, there are not too many people who can steal a lot of 100,000 dollars worth of guns and be able to move them around with ease. You are not the only one that has your eyes peeled on Arabs/Muslims. As sad a fact as that may be, after 9-11, they are under high scrutiny in this country. (For too long, we insisted they are not that clever. As a group of people,we never gave them credit for ingeniousness -- look at that solider doll hostage thing!! -- and, so I dont have to come back to this thread and waste more time: Yes, it was a gaffe, but the "idea" that they had to do it, and attempt to use such technology to fool us, should be an eye opener to everyone.) Linda, you are not alone in this country with skepticism of Arabs/Middle Easteners. Many more have reeled thinking we really dont know their true allegiance, or their temperament well enough, to know what they want to do, or really think.) And Yes, Linda, there ARE cells here, too. And if they can hi-jack a couple of planes, I'm sure they are much better equipped to find an "Oakley's Tebback'ie and rifle store" if they wanted to get guns.

I dont think youre a prejudiced person at all. And although I am not usually a high alarmist type, I can, as stated above, understand your concerns. You'd have to be a dodo bird not to.

And now for mr.fenix, the, I've been everywhere, I've done everything, I know everything (this all the while stuck in bed reading one too many harlequin novels, chugging down one too many soda pops, to wash down the nibbled st. joseph aspirins!) ya, I get the picture. One kid with a fervent imagination who assimilates all it reads sees hears into its own life experience; a blend of indistinguishable fact and fantasy. But of course that doesnt include the step-uncle's third cousin once removed who was originally from pa, but relocated to alabama, so she knows first hand all about life there, too.) Were you adopted by chance? Well, thank God for a computer with map quest & national geographic and law and order so I can prove like I know what I am talking about, eh?

Well, the term Bravado, dear fenix, requires an audience. Bravado, at a crime scene would indicate whatever they did would be they left for the sole purpose of showing off to the authorities. There is no evidence or indication of this as it stands now. But you just heard the word somewhere, and decided now is as good a time as any to use it.

Gangs and Drugs, hand and hand, huh? Drugs traffic and users are rampant throughout the country. Go pull stats for just about anywhere. But gangs are pretty much limited to urban areas where there might be a bodega or a convenience store open somewhere past 8:00 pm.

I'm sure Altoona and the surrounding area has changed a bit since I was last there. But if it has gone from a dinky hole of a town with miles and miles of nothing around, to a major cosmos of urban blight, that sure is a surprise to me! It's a poor town and where there is poverty, there will always be crime. Just like Ohio, Pennsylvania, has lost much of its employment base all around. But people dont just 'pass thru' Altoona, unless they're way lost from rt 80 or something. - But had you done your diligent RESEARCH before you pretended to have been there, you would have known that. Your "bravado" on these boards ["self-employment is not a right"!] is truely sickening anymore.

It can construed that Linda meant ALL of the muslims in the US, but for those of us who actually grew up in the South understand that to put it proper context "With all the muslims (living) here (it could be some of them)"

That is how I see it, however Linda, you have to remember the left looks for reasons to complain so best to read your posts before submitting...

$100,000 worth of guns... doesn't tell me how many?

Depending on the gun... that could be 1

But considering the way and the how... I would go along with the gang bangers or just militia types...

Sorry, but you are out of touch with reality.

"As elsewhere, the introduction of drugs into rural communities brings increases in crime and youth gangs. Youth gangs, once primarily an urban scourge, have tripled their number in rural areas, according to some estimates (Caldrella, Sharpnack, Loosli, & Merrell, 1996). These gangs are much like their urban counterparts, except that while city gangs usually identify with a "turf" or "hood" rural gang members come from a much larger area and may travel some miles to be with fellow members."

And remember, that Skinhead group that has a chapter in Altoona...

::And now for mr.fenix,::

Who the hell is MR Fenix? I'm not married.... is someone posing as my husband? Lying SOB!

::I've been everywhere::

Not quite everywhere dearheart... but there are still many years of adventure to come.

::this all the while stuck in bed reading one too many harlequin novels::

I hate romances... Give me Clancy, Reichs, or Cornwell anyday and although my bed is inordinately inviting and comfortable, I've never actually been stuck in it. Does that really happen?

::chugging down one too many soda pops, to wash down the nibbled st. joseph aspirins!::

Do you not read? I could have sworn I just mentioned my addiction to Vanquish... St Joseph is for wimps!)

:ne kid::

I think I love you

::with a fervent imagination who assimilates all it reads sees hears into its own life experience::

NO sweetie - then I would be telling stories of my uncle the former navy seal who now runs an international anti-terrorism task force and aunt the forensic anthropolgist. But everyone knows I don't have any aunt or uncles.

::But of course that doesnt include the step-uncle's third cousin once removed who was originally from pa, but relocated to alabama,::

Again... no no no... my steps family is from Oklahoma and I don't think they ever went anywhere. It's my mothers family that is from the western Pa, West Virginia, Eastern Ohio area. None of us have ever been to Alabama although I did once have a roommate from there - I know nothing about the state or life there although if he is a typical product of life in Alabama I have no desire to know anything.

Is there anything else you needed me to clear up?

BTW - I was wondering why if I sicken you so much you would even bother to read my posts. You should stop this self abuse immediately and just put me on ignore...

crowfarm: Why? Does linda purport to believe every thing she reads?

Any one position held, there is always a counterpoint. You dont have to believe everything you read. For my opinions and judgements I get around enough to see things for myself.

Besides, if bunni really wanted to be up on the subject, she might pull up the new stats that suggest how "Caucasian" middle & upper class people, both urban and rural have the highest incidence/contributions of the cocaine and heroin drug usage in the country. And further surprize: their typical age is not even adolescent and much further from the truth is their classification distance from what is commonly refered to as "gang members".

Now, maybe one day when I can make 100k from proving a point here, or attaining some gain such as a Pulitzer prize for wasting time, I will consider it providing proof. Until then, you're on your own. I know the reality of the place where I dwell - and its not Los Angeles or San Diego. We have some pretty high crime rates too, lots of drugs incidence, but we dont have gangs here. That is a fact.

I love to watch the way the reality challenged liberals will take an ambiguity in print, or their misinterpretation, and worry it to death like a dog with a bone. The effort would be better spent on the message rather than the messenger.

Well, they've lowered the original numbers down to $75,000, mostly handguns with a few automatics. Not many details in the paper today.

I've been sick in bed, so I'm just getting back on....am gonna try to go to work tomorrow (I hope I make it...lol!)

There have been stories, of course. This is VERY rural.....Muslims and blacks would stand out around here....anyone of color would. Alot of people from "downstate" own property and have camps...so it could have been anyone, but I believe they were white.
