It is a lecture, as is your further attempt to think you can define on any level my insecurity . Its not about me, kiara!! And its not about you!! But since you brought it up - why dont you speak to your own insecurities - that you think your the spokesperson for the entire country of Canada here, and therefore have some claim to fame that they lead the way ?
Oh, gimme a break. Everything you say here is a joke, out of your own retarted sense of some grandious identity.

LoL! I was wondering how long it would take before you started in on Kiara, Double. Where did she say here or ever, that she represents all of Canada?
posted on September 10, 2005 06:16:04 PM newyou think your the spokesperson for the entire country of Canada here, and therefore have some claim to fame that they lead the way ?
With that kind of logic, mingotree posted the topic so she must represent Canada too as well as others that responded to it?
I didn't address you in my original post dblfugger nor did I lecture you, but knowing the way you've over-reacted on previous occasions, I understand that it may have looked like a lecture to you. I'm sorry that my little post once again sent you over the edge.
oh, yuck!
But next time Canada has a natural disaster (or God forbid - a terrorist attack) where 100 percent of its citizens are displaced, we'll be sure to look to them to see how ready and prepared they are when they are right in the middle of it.
posted on September 10, 2005 06:42:53 PM newYou clipped my quote in half...Dbl.
Sorry Helen, I didnt think the conjunction was pertinent to the point. You can blame FEMA all you want, but the fact is there are and were many first responders that held alot that glue together down there for many people, before 50 canadian's showed up. Yes, it great they offered to help, but dont make it like they were the only ones doing anything...and to say they lead the way is a real distortion of the truth. All those people in the hospitals were practicing third world medicine and displayed ingenuity beyond par to keep people alive. The citizens were helping and rescuing themselves where they could. So no, I dont buy this canadians "lead the way" crap. sorry.

No, dblebubble "We all (DON'T)know why mingotree posted this thread."
There ya go speaking for others and reading my mind
I don't even quite know why I posted it. Maybe because I like Canada....maybe I like those Mounties....maybe they could give some lessons on response....maybe because when FEMA tried to steal their tanker filled with gasoline they told FEMA to go to hell
I know America's leaders responded abysmally to this disaster but you really don't have to be so jealous of Canadian efficiency

dblfugger, looks like people of your mindset have a lot of work in front of them.
Nearly Two-Thirds Say Country Is Headed in Wrong Direction
By WILL LESTER, AP
Reuters
Nearly four years after President Bush's approval soared following Sept. 11, his ratings drop to the lowest point.
WASHINGTON (Sept. 10) - President Bush's job approval has dipped below 40 percent for the first time in the AP-Ipsos poll, reflecting widespread doubts about his handling of gasoline prices and the response to Hurricane Katrina.
Nearly four years after Bush's job approval soared into the 80s after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Bush was at 39 percent job approval in an AP-Ipsos poll taken this week. That's the lowest since the the poll was started in December 2003.

dblfugger9, I was talking about the country of Canada helping the US and it wasn't about me at all as I am not the only person that resides there. It's strange that you can't see the difference.
Many countries have been working on their response time and readiness for disasters and as Kraft said, incidents such as the hurricane help everyone to better understand where improvement is needed. That means Canada also as no plan is ever perfected.
This isn't just about Canada... since the US government was so inept, it's too bad other countries weren't allowed in sooner because they really wanted to help, had expert aid and are considered allies. More lives would have been saved and so many others wouldn't have had to suffer under unbearable conditions either.

lol desquirrel! Now it's a 100? Did they get down here in an hour on their mounted horses, and does that count for the other 50?
beep-beepa, do tell what my mindset is? As if according to you it, would be anywhere near accurate?
Nearly Two-Thirds Say Country Is Headed in Wrong Direction
Here's a clue pee-pee, this is a different thread. This is about New Orleans, not about Bush. But see, everything for you is an excuse for you to muzzle-in your stupid anti-bush rhetoric.
it's too bad other countries weren't allowed in sooner..
Maybe you forgot kiara, but we've got this little war going on in the mid-east? You think, maybe, just maybe, there security procedures to consider? You like to try to talk world-affairs, but youre really very dense about it.

dblfugger, I noticed how you clipped my quote where I said 'allies'....... a sure sign that you are once again unable to respond with any intelligence here.

dbl - You must remember that those disagreeing with you are the group who will CHEER any other county on....rather than their own. To them America does nothing right.
They are so blinded by their hatred of this President they don't want to cheer or even mention all the good works of Americans. They're waving the Canadian flag right now....but ours they'll support burning in a minute.
Their just not ever going to admit American's were helping American's first....not 50 Canadians. Blow them off....they're not worth the bandwith.

Of course Americans were helping Americans first as the ones involved in the midst of it were lending help to their own families and neighbors and anyone else they could help when the disaster unfolded. There were numerous on-the-spot heroes. There were numerous persons and organizations country-wide ready to help immediately. No one ever said otherwise. Heck, you could even start your own thread about them instead of whining here and trying to make an issue over it.
It's amusing to note how defensive and pouty a few of you get when you realize other countries were so willing and able to help at a moments notice. Must suck to be so insecure about your own identity that another country helping brings out this side of you.

Canada, did more than sending the rescue unit. It Gave 400 thousand barrels of oil, Medical units, Ships, Water, Beds, Blankets, meals, & the province of Nova Scotia gave 1 million dollars. More will be coming. Great Job Canada!
The Canadians were Smart. All of the military was assigned to the U.S.Coast Guard. Which was the only Federal unit operating legally in New Orleans.

Helen in this very same thread: "dbl, you clipped my quote..."
kiara, I noticed how your monkey-mimic'ing is getting blatently worse every day. (Thinking of something on your own to say is terribly hard for you, isnt it?) "Must suck to be so insecure about your own identity!".. that the best you can do is immitate what somebody else already has said. Just like a true a carpet bagger! Always hitching yer wagon onto somebody else's ride.
Linda, yes, that was my point. You wonder why any of these people want to live here in the U.S. at all. Oh wait!-and some of them dont!
posted on September 10, 2005 09:31:36 PM new
Linda, I like to give credit, were credit is due. It is a shame K.D. dosen't Know what he own Government does. The only reason the rescue unit was placed with the Coast Guard because they defend all U.S. coastal waters. This was done by our President, because he could not send troops in. The Governor had not requested Federal Troops at that time.

Fred - I know...that governor should be recalled. I can't believe because of her power struggle....so little was done for the people there. She was even fighting with the mayor of N.O. tsk tsk
And while I too appreciate any and all help we can get in this crisis.....I feel strongly that both Canada and Japan could have done a lot more. Chicken feed, they could have just kept. Almost an insult imo. But I hadn't read about the oil.....so 400 thousand barrels at $4.00 a barrel to recover.... hmmmm

kiara is not like any of the Canadians I've ever met. I try to remember that when I see her posts - they're not all that way, thank heaven.

Hi Linda..it's almost 1AM here, and I have insomnia...so I decided to check in and see if anyone else couldn't sleep.. How are you doing?

Hi Maggie - Fenix is probably up too....maybe she'll chat with you. It's just past twelve here....and I usually fall to sleep around 2:00AM.
Where are you staying now that you can't be in your home while it's being repaired?

I'm staying in North Carolina with my daughter and her family. Still no power back home in our area.. the power company is still clearing out the fallen trees. I sure do miss being home. Once we are able to return, we will have a mess of work to do, it will take us quite some time to do all the repairs and rebuilding.. the trees will need to be cut and hauled out of there too... roof repairs to be done and new porches to have rebuilt etc..
Missing my hubby and my dog...
But I am keeping busy with the babies here, Luke is 2 weeks old now and Emma will be 3 in a couple of weeks..
I heard that FEMA is in town and so are the Seabee's (spelling?) and from what I have heard, they have been working around the clock to help the community dig out.
I should be exhausted after a day of running around but can't sleep.. so damn frustrating.. so I took a Tylenol PM...and it will probably take effect in a bit.. then leave me groggy all morning...
