No, but I didn't see any special request for name-calling either. This stuff just gets real old after a while.

It's also why so few people post here anymore.

Hi Bear....... it may seem like that but I've always been somewhat shy

Guess I'll have to keep looking for that ice queen then. Always wanted to find one and ask if all that time on the ice resulted with icerhoids.

Double, I agree with the study to a point. Show me anything that's consumed in excess that doesn't cause cancer. That's exactly what my "Cancer" thread was talking about... people that consume things in excess, year after year, then complain about what ever disease they come down with as if none of it was their fault. If I get cancer from smoking pot, then it's my own fault. If I was smarter, I'd eat pot cookies instead of playing with my health.

Doc.

Excellent post on Wicca,

What I meant was white magic, not as a religion but as a spiritual power. Not the power to change toads it boy friends for LD but in the power to change your life in positive ways.

I believe this is just Positive thinking. I’d read Norman Vincent Peale's book many years ago and found it very interesting. Have you read it?

BTW, I had a lot of fun with them Wicca practitioners. Most didn’t take themselves too serious.

kraft, I agree. Anything in excess will over use and abuse the body system. I dont know if this study was about natural marijuana, or the street stuff which usually has other chemicals in it, which would probably be alot worse on the lungs.

No, but I didn't see any special request for name-calling either.

Any special request? - Are you new to the vendio round table,Doktor Arcane?

Double, I don't think it matters much about how pure the pot is, to be honest. I know lots of people that grow their own organic, but they still cough and hack like every other pot smoker. But I also think there are hoards of benefits from pot smoking. I might be repeating myself, but David Suzuki did a whole show on how he smokes pot to help with his rheumatoid arthritis, which is crippling and painful. It's also documented that it helps people with MS and depression, as well cancer patients. In my opinion, the good outweighs the bad.

kraft, I have heard that about MS too and I can believe there are some properties that could benefit the CNS in that area. But for depression, I dont know...unless you stay stoned all the time.

Double, it sure makes you wonder why the government keeps saying there are NO benefits to marijuana, when it's been proven to help. I bet it has a lot to do with protecting the drug companies, but I could be wrong.

Maggie, when I sell pot to nursing homes and public schools, I always make brownies, so I don't hurt their lungs.

Seriously though, I don't think there's any harm in smoking pot, except for the lung part. There's a fantastic article in McLean's about pot that points to all sides of the argument. The main reason for the nays, is they think it's a gateway drug to hard drugs, which I personally haven't seen but completely understand.

Krafty and DBL...how much lung cancer would it contribute to as compared to how much good it would do?
I'm just passing gas...

Maggie, at least if they decriminalize it, it would keep a lot of harmless people out of prison.

P.S. Maybe not Maggie, but think of the fuel savings if you could.

kraft, I think the main reason for the nays is altering your body chemistry and reality. Why does anyone have to do that? I'm not a scientilogist follower, but I agree with you and some of its principals to that end, and really think somebody sold us a bill of goods. Whether its drug companies or what, I couldnt say. I havent smoked pot since I was a kid in my twenties. The last time I did all it did was made me was totally paranoid, my body temperture was freezing shivering and if I remember right, I think I started a fire somewhere... I've seen people I knew from HS that carried it over into adulthood. Their motivation and ambition levels dropped to hardly anything. I suppose its okay if youre into the arts and can make a career out of it, but for everyday people, I havent seen (other than some medical) the benefits of smoking it at all. I'm not sure, but it must burn out your brain cells just like drinking does. I dont think those cells get regenerated either.

Double, I look at it this way - if drugs were legalized, the flow of money would stop.

The drug companies want you to think their drugs cure everything. If a cheap drug came along that helped ease the symptoms and pain of some diseases, like marijuana, their profits would drop and there would be no way they could control it's distribution... (they don't want you growing your natural medicine for free when they have chemical pills, with bad side-effects for unheard of prices to help you.)

The donations to the whatever party is against drug legalization from the drug 'lords' would stop - they don't want ANY drug legalized!

All the kick-backs to politicians, police, etc., would stop.

All the billions spent on the "war on drugs" could be used for rehab centers for the addicted, as well as better education regarding the facts about drugs, not political "facts", but real facts.

The people in prison would be cut in half or more, plus it would free up the court system for more serious cases.

P.S. LoL on the fire, Double.
