Oh yeah! the Little Monster hummer, it was ok, I guess, and yeah the streaker sheep. Just seems in the past, they really had great ones, or maybe I missed something.

The officiating was pretty piss poor thru the whole post season.
Best superbowl commercial not aired during the Superbowl...
It's one of the Asthma commercials. Kid is in the tunnel after having to leave a game because of Asthma, Bettis comes along and gives him advice on Asthma management. In a takeoff of the old Mean Joe Green Pepsi commercial, the kid takes off his jersey and tosses it to Bettis, Bettis thanks the kid and then the kid replies... Thank you Bus...for everything!

NTS-I was rooting for Pittsburgh,BUT the officiating was so bad,I called 911-I thought Seattle got robbed<snicker>
I waited until the game was over then watched it on my Tivo.So it actually only took me 60 minutes to watch the game, plus the 12 minutes the Stones were on-I LOVE that machine-the greatest invention since color tv(besides the computer).I have "24" and "csi las vegas" on my "season pass".Which means the machine will automatically record these programs on the hard drive.Since Im retired,I usually watched these the next morning.Since my son and wife are at work the only one home besides me is my wifes Siamese cat,I can watch these at my leisure. When "24" comes on,there are about 5 minutes of commercials between segments. When I put the Tivo in fast forward,it goes thru these commercials in about 3 1/2 seconds.
But now Im in a dilemma,as I have a lot of catching up to do.For the last two weeks,I havent watched much tv as I was getting in the spirit of the Super bowl,by chasing the cat around the fenced in backyard by the pool.I was pretending she was the opposing quarterback and when I tackled her,I would pick her up by the scruff of the neck and "drop kick" her over the water slide pretending to be going for a field goal.If she went over the water slide, and landed on the roof of the shed, would raise my hands like a referee and yell "good"! If I didnt kick her far enough and she landed in the pool,I would wave my arms to the side, and yell "no good"-I really didnt like is as the water was cold and I would have to fish her out with my pool net,so this gave me incentive to give a little more "umph" in my drop kicks. The more I did this, the faster she ran the next time, which made it more challenging. She'd be hissing and hollering and I was pretending she was the opposing quarterback barking out signals, which made it more realistic.I can tell you after two weeks of this "a great time was had by all" I can see her laying on the couch now,and I can tell by the look on her face, she cant wait for Super bowl 41 to come next year

classic, are you suffering some affectation lately? Thats the most you've written in about a year! And you're beating up and drowning your cat? What is going on with you?

fenix, I only saw some of the stones halftimeshow but it seemed kinda lame. I dont think that was really the venue for them, do you? Where is that thread we did on the stones one night? That was a fun thread.
I felt sorry for SH's #8 (sorry the name escapes me right now) he seemed a skilled QB, but lost it in frustration after the 2nd half.
Troyp is amazing isnt he? He's like a jelly bean they way he just bops on over and knocks them down. It almost reminds me of mosh danceing. Read somewhere he is Samoen? sp*

Well, the Stones have never really been known for the overwhekming quality of their live shows. they have great songs performed well but not incredibly. I did get a kick out of Jagger introducing Satisfaction as a song they could have performed at Superbowl 1. The halftime show in Detroit though should have been Motown acts, not a bunch of brits
As for Troy. I just really like that guy. He is so versitile and so talented and he does all of his talking on the field. You heard rigjht about him being Samoan, (so is Tutupo from the Hawks - I think some of these weak defensive teams need to start scouting Samoa )
I liked Porters response when asked about Bettis announcing his retirement. "What would be the reason for coming back? If you can walk away from the game at the highest point, as Superbowl champ in your home town. He's a hall of famer all ready, why do anything to tarnish that? It's the perfect way to walk out. At this point in time, he's not doing it for the money cause he's definately a smart guy. The braodcasting table is waiting for him. He has the perfect smile, he's great with words and I think he has the face for TV."
For all the flack Porter gets for his trash talk, he's the one that bought all of the Notre Dame jerseys with Jeromes old number that the players wore when they arrived in Detroit and he was the one that suggested that Jerome come out of the tunnel alone at the introductions and then the rest of the team enter.

Fenix, yeah there were a couple of other people playing really well i thought, too. I dont even know who porter is but maybe I will google it now that you mentioned it. I had the tv on doing other things. At one point hubby wanted to watch something else (think I mentioned b4, the only sport he cares for is boxing) but I guess overall it was good. I've seen the stones do some live where they were really good? Anyway, yeah, I could see Jerome going to sportscasting. Madden was getting on my nerves. I mean, I know he's been around a long time (and he doesnt look like he's all that healthy), but theres other announcers I prefer to 'hear'. :;shrug:: ..Just me I guess.
Bear, .. Somebody needs to tell old classics here if he's not nice to his ginger he will get cat scratch fever.... Classic, a Siamese female can get really mean. (but im sure you know that already.) Even days from now when you least expect it.....they dont forget anything... My father used to say they were the most intelligent breed of the feline family. I dont know how true that is, but mine were almost like humans. And determined to get their own way...

Db-ANY female can get mean LOL
I gotta tell you-this ones a "lap cat" as soon as you sit down, shes right on your lap,but she doesnt care to be picked up.The first Siamese we had was a "shoulder cat" like in The King and I,she loved to be picked up.BOTH cats love to sleep with us ..and usually they plant their ass's between us.I remember the first cat we had.She was born the same year as my son in 1974.One day we couldnt find the cat,and we checked our sons room and wouldnt you know it,the damn cat was sleeping in the crib with my son-funny as hell.I guess she liked the smell of the milk, but we had to close the door to keep the cat out-we didnt want her to suffocate him by accident.

Joey Porter is the mouth of the Steelers. Actually, he's a very talented linebacker with just as impressive verbal skills that always catches hell for his statements. This past week he was getting a ton of press attention for saying that he thought that the Hawk tight end Stevens was "soft".
There are two schools of thought on that one though... one that he said it because he has a big mouth and one that he said it because he decided to use his big mouth strategicially to put the press and heat on himself and to divert it from younger players like Roethlisberger. I tend to go with the second one. Porter strikes me as a very smart man that knows exactly how to manipulate the press when the need arises.
If you need to picture him, he's the guy trying out his lines in the hot tub in the Disneyworld commercial.

Yes, I remember him too classic. That was his name. think it had two gg's though. I had heard the song cat scratch fever in passing but I didnt know anything about Ted Nugent and all that deep dirty rock stuff. (when did that come out anyway? I will have to google it.) But he and they were like 8-15 years older than my generation anyway. I think they are still around...just maybe not in ny anymore, but I dont know.
Maggie, you better get to starting a world changing thread. We dont want to look too stupid..lol....
ty fenix. He is the thumb? They're throwing around too. I should take a picture of my thumb to show you people. But nobody would ever believe me anyway.

::He is the thumb?::
Are you are reffering to the "One for the Thumb" quote you are hearing alot right now?
That one dates back to the Steelers of old when Bradshaw was their QB - they won 4 Superbowls and were on a quest for the 5th... One for the Thumb refers to the Super Bowl ring... a fifth one would be "One for the Thumb".
