lol...I've always enjoyed your stories, classic.
And now that you mentioned your wife's cat....I laugh once again, remembering the story you told us about chasing it around the back yard/pool(?). I'm still picturing that event. LOL
Both my sons were registered dems....but one got REAL smart about three years ago and is a registered Republican. Once he started climbing the corp. ladder and making the big $$ he started feeling a little resentful about all the taxes he is paying....he saw 'the light'. I think my youngest one will come around this year too now....he's become more successful.
In a LOT of cases that seems to be the major division to me....those who want the 'entitlements' for themselves and those who are tired of paying for them and would like to keep a little more of what they EARN.
I know that's not the case with your wife, but on the whole...I believe it's true.
While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation:
What would a Democrat president have done at that point? Apparently, the answer is: Sit back and wait for the next terrorist attack.

Al Frankens involvement is non existent he is only an employee of Air America, the only stake he has in the company is that he is owed back wages and has continued to work although they are not in a position to pay him.
More death throws and thrashing of the conservative behemoth in its dying process.
After the elections in two weeks its hard to say how long it will take to air the stench out of the halls of congress.

face 1.2M scam rap

DAILY NEWS CITY HALL BUREAU
The once-esteemed Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx was turned into a cash cow by rogue executives who milked it for $1.2 million, the city Department of Investigation reported yesterday.
Six former Gloria Wise executives are accused of looting $290,000 from the nonprofit group and using it to buy personal furnishings, leasing personal cars - including a BMW - and making home renovations.
The money has yet to be recovered, although the investigation is now in the hands of state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's office. Two related arrests were made yesterday.
An additional $875,000 was funneled to the Air America radio network in shady loans arranged by one of the executives, who had a personal financial stake in the radio network, according to the report.
That money has been recovered, with $625,000 returned to the city and $250,000 retained by Gloria Wise, which is under new management.
The six executives also collected fat salaries, ranging as high as $254,410 a year for its ousted executive director.
The scam was uncovered after an anonymous tipster informed the Department of Investigation in 2004.
The money from city agencies, combined with state and federal funds, was earmarked for a variety of social and educational programs to help needy youngsters and seniors.
Investigations Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn said that diverting money from a not-for-profit group for personal gain - when the money is intended to help shut-in seniors and children with special needs - "is disgusting."
City agencies cut off funds to Gloria Wise, while its new management tries to reestablish the reputation it had under its founder and namesake, who died in 1993.
Two of the alleged scammers were arrested yesterday, including Charles Rosen, 63, of the Bronx, a former Co-op City powerbroker who served as executive director from 1993 through June 2005. He was charged with grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration and forgery.
Also arrested was Jeffrey Aulenback, 46, of Brooklyn, the former executive director of Gloria Wise, who was charged with grand larceny and obstructing governmental administration.
Others identified in the report as allegedly participating in fraudulent schemes were Lorraine Corva, former director of programming; Sinohe Terrero, former finance director; Ibis Ozoria, former budget director, and Evan Montvel-Cohen, former director of development and a fund-raiser.
The report identifies Montvel-Cohen as the executive who also had a financial interest in Air America. Rosen allegedly made four loans to Montvel-Cohen from Gloria Wise's funds totaling $875,000 that was used to help finance Air America.

In an interview with the Sun on August 1, Mr.Franken said he did not know anything about the transfers from the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club until late the previous month. He said he did not know whether the $875,000 was absorbed by the radio network or not, and he characterized the network's decision to pay back Gloria Wise as a "moral obligation."
Yesterday, Mr. Franken stood by his earlier statement. He said that, on the advice of his lawyer, Gunnar Erickson, he signed the agreement last fall that erased legal claims he had against Messrs. Cohen and Sorensen because they owed him money, but he said he did not see the list of liabilities that included the Gloria Wise transfers.

Franken to his credit abandoned his claims of money owed clearing the way for the current owners of Air America to repay loans arranged by the prior owners.
The stories you are finding are rehashes of old news dredged up by the right in order to get the public to take their eyes off the ball long enough to steal yet another election.
BTW Haliburton profits rose 25% for the quarter. Who says war isn't good business.

Do some reading classic, it doesn't hurt...really. Neoconservatism is the antithesis of classical conservatism. The Republican party has been taken over by pod people. A good place to start would be The Project For a New American Century.

Prof, I loved this line:

I always thought it was the liberal democrats that were the walking dead of the political world. Forget , thought, I always knew it to be true.
There's still a lot of conservative people out there, some of them are actually Democrats....they will be voting in November too. Probably not for their own party.
