Anybody watch it? I thought it was just fine to see Hillary being pushed a bit by Obama and Edwards and was pretty surprised to see her falter.

On another note. While it's awfully quiet around here, I gotta say I think the absence of the nastiness is a good thing.

No, I heard some reports though. Didn't sound all that exciting.

I went to hear the Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra. It was a great show:
Herman Olivera - Lead Vocal
Brian Lynch - Trumpet
Nelson Gonzalez - Tres Guitar
Carlos Henriquez - Bass.
Jose Claussell - Timbales
Little Johnny Rivero - Congas
Pete Rodriguez Jr - Trumpet
Orlando Vega - Bongos
Joseph Fiedler - Trombone

Back to the topic I find the Republican debates much more amusing, you never know what they will say.

It was nice to see a little spunk from the other candidates. Haven't made up my mind yet on which candidate I will support. I like Hillary and her platform for the most part, but am a little uneasy at her "political machine" demeanor. On the other hand, I really like Obama, but am uneasy about his lack of experience and a little bit of naivete. Believe I would vote for any of the leading Dem candidates over any of the leading Repub candidates. I am a life-long New Yorker and although the crime rate went way down during his administration and there were other quality of life improvements for which he deserves credit,Giuliani is perceived by many New Yorkers as a bully--my way or the highway type. Extremely stubborn and defensive. Believe we have had enough of that personality type. If he ever gave a speech or interview without mentioning 9/11, think I would faint.

9/11 is really his only national claim to fame. Giuliani seems to me to be just another flip flopper like the rest of the Rep. candidates, pandering to whomever the party thinks are and undecided block of voters. Hillary's voting with the President really really bothers me and it makes me think there would be few changes if she should win. On the other hand, I think it would be great to have Bill back in the White House. I sometimes wonder if that isn't really the secret of her poll success....

Another thing on which we agree, Profe. Bill Clinton for President! He has more charisma that all the other candidates put together.

" On the other hand, I think it would be great to have Bill back in the White House. I sometimes wonder if that isn't really the secret of her poll success...."

Exactly!

Although I would rather vote for Gore, any one of the three is exceedingly superior to the Republican candidates. The semblance of neocon support that some attribute to Hillary is political maneuvering on her part.

I would like to see Obama win the Democratic nomination. I think we need someone in the White House without so much baggage and that also has some fresh ideas. However with that being said, I think he does not have the political experience yet. If the election was in 2010 instead of 2008, I would definitely vote for him.

Hillary has the experience, but has way to much baggage. Hillary is to the Republicans what Bush is to the Democrats.

We need a candidate that will actually unite this country instead of dividing this country into two like has happened over the past 10 years.

If Hillary gets the nomination any thoughts on who her VP running mate would be?

Richardson...he's certainly qualified and he'll sew up the latino vote, not that it needs a lot of sewing.

I don't think any Democratic candidate would actually choose Lieberman after his actions during the past two years. Lieberman should be ashamed to call himself a Democrat.

Haven't decided yet because while the Democratic field is far superior, and certainly bigger, than the repug field, there's things about each one that makes me hesitate.

For instance, I like Obama, but his economic advisor thinks the answer to the bad economy is everyone goes to college....I KNOW it's not that simple.

I heard a RUMOR he is considering Al Gore as running mate........??????

Been having a very busy "real life" life.
Work and personal.

No time for "News of the World" reporting

Besides with bear the only neocon left there's no one to make fun of and laugh at.

The rest of you make too much sense ....

....maybe, for relaxation purposes, I'll just start picking on you, profe

He seems to be on a Hillary one-track these days, pretty boring. I did see a couple of trolls from Colin but they've gone away for some reason. Pleasant, you ask me.

Mingo, your good mind is wasted on neocons who can only grunt, paste, laugh and sneer. You can lay waste to Republican talking points without having to deal with such mindless drivel and disruption.

Congeniality is refreshing for a change!

Did any of you see Stephen Colbert being interviewed by Tim Russert this week. It was repeated at least twice on MSNBC today.

Colbert was laugh-out-loud funny with Russert. He has such a quick mind; it's amazing to watch.

It's a great look at Colbert, profe. Well worth searching for. He was hilarious when he was doing his show-persona. Then the last five minutes were Real Stephen, just talking with Russert, and those were fascinating, too. Does he let his kids watch his show? No. He doesn't want them to think he's really like that!

We really need a democrat in the white house but I'm afraid Hillary is the spoiler. I wish she would drop out. I don't care if it's her time or if she's earned it. She's way too slick and politically savvy IMHO and people just don't like her. I don't. I don't see a democrat that has a chance against her and I see the republicans salivating. Edited to add: in times after a tumultuous presidency, it is comforting to cleanse our palates with virtuous leaders. Ford and Carter may be underrated for their contributions to the presidency, but I regard them both as great men, who did what was needed at the time for their country, regardless of political costs.

This is an interesting survey that links your interests on issues to a political candidate.
You may find the candidate of your choice at the bottom of the list.

First you have only 20 points with which to priortize the issues such as health care, Iraq etc.... followed by a several questions.

If Kucinich or Edwards had the prerequisite masculine charisma and appearance necessary to attract the American public, Hillary's poll numbers would be insignificant.

Dennis Kucinich shares a 90% similarity with your beliefs
Representative, (D-OH)
Dennis Kucinich was born on October 8, 1946. He is a Democrat from Ohio. He has served the 10th District of Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1996. Prior to this he was mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. Kucinich is a self-described "Wellstone Democrat."
