In looking at a text that purports to speak "from the heart," I always check for the use of the passive voice to see where the author is distancing him/her self from possession of the feelings expressed.

This "friendship" didn't lose itself, yet there's no accountability, no responsibility, and no apology in the message. Only its intended target (and I'm no part of this ugly business) can speak to how it feels to see something like this, but I differ with everyone who's posted here. I think the "poem" and its public posting is a manipulative feint, like the three-party analogy (one victim saint, two sinners) brought to another board, which was also not credible, to these eyes. Whatever sadness this refers to is private, and should have remained so.

JMO,
Pareau

Ya know pareau thats really rude. AND ANOTHER THING why bring up stuff from another board.

Do you ever think that maybe, just maybe you do not know everything thats going on?

So keep your 'JMO's' to yourself on this one!

The other party has spoken. I'm surprised at the lack of your perception, Pareau. Both sides have taken tentative steps. Why are you trying to destroy that?

Do you like to see trouble and hurt feelings? Dang! Don't shift into second, put it in reverse!

Maui,

I missed coming here yesterday and it seems that I missed ALOT. Just wanted to let you know that I think your poem was really good.

No poems don't have to rhyme and they also don't have to make sense (hate them) but yours did and I found it to be a very nice poem. Kind of wondering if you mind if I print it out and put it up in the Tourist Center?

This thread has made me very happy!!!!!!!!

Back off yourself, Herr. As I said, there's more to this than you appear to know. Criticism was invited, and I voiced a differing opinion.

Pareau,

Get out of the thread. This is ONLY an attempt to restore a friendship. Take your paranoias off back to places where they don't interfere and can be ignored.

Geez, and they sometimes call ME obtuse.

Not that its any of your business pareau, but I posted this here because this is where SHE reads. This was not intended for you to pick apart with your ASSUMPTIONS of what you know nothing about. I made mistakes, and so did the intended party. What is most important is letting her know, on a public board, that I think of her, love her as a sister, miss her, and wish things were different and this never happened. How dare you presume to throw a stone at something that you know NOTHING about? Take your views of what you think my motives are and stick 'em where the sun dont shine.

And for the others who have shown compassion, I thank you very much.

Cat, I miss you. I love you. Im sorry. Take the time you need, but KNOW in your heart I love you.

Maui,

You are mistaken. I know a lot more than you realize. You made this public for our review. I'm part of the public, and I've reviewed it. My opinion stands. Good luck to the object of the thread.

You know nothing. You only know what you read on the boards, nothing of what is between Cat and I. I posted it for HER. It started here, and it ends here. I made mistakes, you betcha. And I am trying to fix them. The poem was for her...and I dont do poetry, which she knows. I get too mushy with her, she backs off, because she doesnt like that stuff. So doing that poem was VERY hard to do for many reasons. I asked for critic on the the poem itself, NOT what your assumptions were. Dont take what you THINK you know, perhaps told to you by someone else. If thats the case, I know PLENTY concerning you too. Should I believe all I THINK is true?

Cat has been told. Cat has read this. Its up to her now. And if I could go back to what was, I would. And so would she. I dont regret posting this here. I meant what I said to her. And I wont edit anything, because whether you believe it or not, it IS from my heart.

Go find someone else to ream.

edited to add that I really do appreciate the good feelings that others expressed regarding the hope for two friends to mend. Im hoping too

Is there something in the air lately? ( I do live in pollution central but what's everyone
else's excuse)
A simple poem asking for forgiveness ends up in this mess.
Every other thread lately ends up with hissing, spitting and eye gouging.
The first yard sale I went to today two blue haired ladies were fighting over a really
ratty looking purse.

In the words of that would be Ghandi , Rodney King "Can't we all just get along."

I'm going back to bed, maybe it is just a bad dream, a bit of undigested meat
perhaps.
(This poster if fully aware she is going to get bludgeoned just like Rodney but it will
have to wait till after my nap)

IMHO, the poem speaks from the heart - Maui not only addresses the accountability of words spoken in anger, but acknowledges the depth of pain that has been felt by both, acknowledges what was lost, and accepts that words may not be enough to mend the hurt. What more could anyone ask for?

I think it's powerful, heartfelt poem - a beautiful first step toward mending a special friendship. And, I hope the receiver is ready.

Speaking of yard sales (going to derail my own thread), we went to a bunch today and my hubby reached for and grabbed two indian style pillows just at the time another man grabbed the other one. So, in the spirit of fun, my hubby said "lets toss a coin", to which the other man said "youre kiddin'", to which I dug in my purse and asked hubby "heads or tails"? He said "heads" and I flipped. Hubby lost. Other man shook hands and laughed and said that was a first, lol.

All in all...I had a great day today and found some killer stuff!

Dangit I'm supposed to be on my way out the door to the county fair, the ONE time each year when there are actually rides for the kids here on Maui, lol

BUT since my name has been tossed in here I will speak a small piece... incredibly small for me...

The poem that Maui wrote came from her heart. I do not doubt that. I do not doubt the pain she feels. I am feeling an immeasureable amount of pain myself.

And I would also like to state that pareau is NOT in the wrong for voicing opinion, especially when that opinion is based on all of the facts at hand which for some bizarro and regrettable reason went public, and not just here. Pareau has some valid points, and has, despite differing opinions at time, always had my respect as someone who speaks their mind. I am not going to start another war defending anyone though.

The issues at hand run far deeper than can be and have been discussed here on the board and only time will tell if repairs can be made to the damage, most of which actually happened after the public fiasco, at least to me. Those of you who read the other board have an inkling how much damage there is to be repaired. And it will not come lightly, if at all.

Maui has been a special part of my life for quite some time but at this time in my life I can't jump back in with trust when trust has been severely violated. I hope like hell she doesn't read this the wrong way cos that's what got this whole battle started and I'm in no mood for a battle. In the meantime, I MUST have my time...it is too soon now, too close. I know she knows that. I am a cat, cautious. I am not here to attack but like I said, my name's in the mix now and the spotlight is on, so voila.

And now, off to the fair...
