Nice thread!
Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is
always in a good mood and always has something
positive to say: When someone would ask him how
he was doing, he would reply, "if I were any
better, I would be twins!"
He was a natural motivator.
If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was
there telling the employee how to look on the positive
side of the situation.

You can't be a positive person all of
the time. How do you do it?"
Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say
to myself, you have two choices today.
You can choose to be in a good mood or you can

I choose to be in a good mood.
Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a
victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to
learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can
choose to accept their complaining or I can point
out the positive side of life. I choose the positive

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes, it is," Michael said. "Life is all about
choices. When you cut away all the junk, every
situation is a choice.
You choose how you react to situations.

I reflected on what Michael said. Soon thereafter, I
left the Tower Industry to start my own business.
We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I
made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care,

nurses, I got really scared.
In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man." I knew I
needed to take action."

at me," said Michael. "She asked if I was allergic
to anything. "Yes, I replied."
The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited
for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled,

Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to
live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."
Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but
also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from
him that every day we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about itself. Each day has enough
trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Shelly: You don't owe me an apology. This situation just distresses me a lot. I have almost 3,000 posts here on AW. I am sure that if someone put their mind to it, they could go through all my posts here and make a case for my being a mass murderer. And, someone might just believe it! That's not so far fetched if a passing reference to toilet paper can be perceived as evidence of being a stalker! I find that scary.
Some time ago I received a short, cryptic e-mail from someone I had never corresponded with, warning me to be careful. I knew from what was going on at the time that the warning was about Pareau. I suspected an over-active imagination fueled by the fact that Pareau had been unpleasant to this person. I e-mailed back and flatly said that I did not believe it and I gave my reasons.
The innuendo without facts in the e-mail bothered me though as did a cryptic-seeming posting by someone else which also seemed to involve Pareau. So, I e-mailed the second person and asked her flat-out if she had ever received a real life threat from Pareau. She said no. I told her I was very relieved to hear that and then put the whole situation behind me.

I'm still clueless, but just want to say that I join the ranks of those who are a bit distressed (and confused) by the accusations and innuendos that have been flung about lately. I've never believed Pareau was a threat of any kind - but, rather an interesting breath of fresh air who is honest beyond reproach. Sometimes reproach steps on my toes - but, that's o.k. with me.

Shelly, Stockticker is so very right when she says it is not her,or me or any one of us who have not been accused that you owe an apology. When someone has been maligned and accused and made a mockery of THAT is the person who deserves the apology. You know who that person is and that is where the apology is due. You have your reasons for what you did,although I cannot fathom them at the moment. You know how I feel by my post elsewhere.
I was NOT going to mention this subject on this board but sometimes my fingers get the better of me.

Well...any of you can address me. If I am not ignoring you, and if I notice, I will answer.
ShellyHerr, I do not know what is going on here at AW (that's OK...don't anyone feel they have to let me know. I am comfortable not knowing), but it is obvious that you have gone through a nasty adventure in the past. I can see that it has colored your perspective some.
Meanwhile...I said it last November and I repeat it now. Please let's not jump into the lynch mode, of anyone. ShellyHerr and Pareau are every bit as valuable here as the other. I am not going to judge either. They're both adults and can decide what they want to say and who they want to apologize to. Forced apologies are seldom sincere.
