Does anyone remember when Auction Watch came into being?
I seem to remember that I found it when ebay stopped the live support board. Folks needed a place to go to vent and to find out what was happening and this was the place.
Since that time they have grown and offered a lot of services which have been nice to use but certainly not the best or most reliable. I appreciate having had the use of those services. I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee for them to continue.
However, as AW came into being with a crisis, a new site can do the same. I believe that there are a few out there that are getting ready to do just that.
I am sad and depressed that AW won't be here a year from now.

Well, I just heard back from AuctionPoster (I told ya they were quick!).
Here is what one of their reps told me:
We no longer sell programs a la carte. The product line now consists solely of Auctiva Pro and Picture Credits. The $120 yearly pass is the price you would need to pay.
So, it looks like I got the posting pass just in time.
I am disappointed though, that they have a larger customer base than ever and they feel the need to more than triple their fees.

Yeah, I suppose that $120 a year kinda sucks, but it is still MUCH less than I would have to pay with AW now. I am fairly small and only sell between $1,500 and $3,000 a month. At that rate I would be paying around $30 a month to AW, so I still think I'll go ahead & take the $10 a month with AP.
However, I really wish they still offered separate levels. Not interested in the eBud thing. Just want to list and host pics.
Any other excellent ideas out there for just those services?

I'm sorry, I must have missed the section of the Community Guidelines that says, "We at AuctionWatch are here to provide you with all the services you need, free of charge, in perpetuity, even if it drives us into financial ruin. We realize that we OWE you free services despite that you pay all of your other suppliers, delivery services, etc. We're committed to helping you turn a profit while we ourselves reap absolutely nothing from your successful sales -- sales that we played an instrumental part in helping to make successful. So get busy, post those auctions, there's money to be made -- unless of course you're AW, in which case we give our services away."
Yeah, I must have missed that part, which surprises me since it's so unique. Imagine, a company that just keeps giving its services away in a society where even a crack whore doesn't give it away for free -- and remains solvent!

Seems to me quite a few people are bitching about AW wanting anything for their services. Not specifically in this thread, perhaps, but all over the boards.
Btw, ExecutiveGirl, did you see bjgrolle's thread addressed to you in the Round Table?

Thank you for illustrating my point, musicman.
How many of you out there still smoke despite the incredible cigarette taxes imposed in recent years? How many would stop going to their favorite coffee shop if they raised the prices a little? How many of you still go to the movies despite that in some places a ticket costs $9 or $10? You'll shell out whatever the asking price is for life's little luxuries, but when it comes to coughing up a little cash to a legitimate service provider who facilitates your business, you start whining like a bunch of spoiled brats. How unprofessional.
