I *could* be mean and ask what happened to my "I QUIT" topic.

Its interstring to see how its gone from me turning in a resignation to discussion of taxes. (which by the way, my unique feedback stayed at 1040 for an entire day, which reminded me of Uncle Sam each time I saw it!)

I posted a few more fun things tonight, and am enjoying ebay. But no more frantic 150 auctions at a time posting days!

ebay has gotten greedy and is pushing small dealers out. Recently I had quite a few auctions and have been using ebay for 2 years. now my sell through rate went from 33% to about 5%.[collectables, records, books] on top of that I get many deadbeats who never pay for what they buy. In any event, if I get something unusual I will still list occasionally, but I went into the book business instead with amazon, half com and ABE.{I know half Com is Ebay}At least I do not have to fight for my money. In my opinion Ebay eventually may burn itself out. They expanded internationally, boom that was the end of my international business on ebay.Everytime they add another layer of sellers in the sell through rates go down. What do they care if thier incidental fees are up so high. They keep taking partners in , all these big guys and thier egghead accountants look for more ways to squeeze money out from the sellers. Its like when you go to some shore areas you have to pay to use a toilet[.25] or to go on the beach and they charge you $3 to go on the public sand that god created.Or when you leave a fancy hotel and have to pay for incidentals like when I went to Mexico and the hotel ripped me off for a $35 surcharge on the phone when I called the states[Hilton in Cancun by the way} How about this one "for now on if you do auction on ebay unless you give them a extra quarter for air to breathe they will take all your air away. If you do not pay all the oxegen gets sucked out of your room and you are turned over to the EBAY police for interegation" That my friend is what it is getting down to.So in any event the Ebay people in my humble opinion do not care about anything but the stockholders. That is a big problem in business all around. Everyone forgets why they were sucessfull in the first place and then the grinding starts. Now ebay can grind another lost customer.

Jen: GOOD FOR YOU!

I did the same thing about two months ago I guess it's been, and I have not ONCE regretted it.

Life after ebay is Grrrrreat!

Now all my deadbeats and psycho's are some other ebay zombie sellers problem.

Good Luck Jen!

i have relatives who immigrated to australia and i have relatives who immigrated to canada.
it seems both countries have abundant food and prices are cheap,i have heard enough of my canadian relatives talking about how much they eat in a buffet .
but other than food, staples seem to be higher pirced in both countries than good old usa,i suspect it has to do with their tax system.
i consider myself lucky landing in good olD USA many moons ago,all that IRS doing, high medical bills are in someway offset by allyou can eat buffet at 5.95,things you can pick up at yardsales and 99cents stores and the freedom of speech and mobility of going from one state to another knowing a good cheap meal can be had ta golden arches and a good bed at days inn,and no gestabo or kgb knocking on your door at nite for what you said during the day.
food which we take for granted in this country is expensive in europe and japan.
japan is in a recession (or depression),there is no such thing as all you can eat at 59500 yens, once some restaurant offered all you can eat with a time restraint, eat all you want in 45 minutes!

Hey Jen, What happened to your thread, it has been hijacked.
I am in Canada, hang on someone is knocking at the door, I have to find out if it is the Gestapo or the KGB. It might just be our Prime Minister, elected by a landslide (no counting required or partisan courts required)

I quit last year and ever unregistered myself. After a couple of months, I reinstated myself and started selling a few things.

I have bids on most items now, but I notice an increase in deadbeats. I send reminders out after 10 days, and if I don't receive any response 14 days after close, I file a NPB. Some pay after that. If they don't pay, I file a negative and move on.

There are some sickos out there who will try to attack your integrity in an attempt to get something for nothing. Hold your ground and don't disgard your values.

Don't take extortion attempts personally.
