The problem is that RB is probably already labeled as a crackpot and it wouldn't surprise me if his complaints are simply ignored. He's been complaining to eBay for years. This "powerseller" thing is the same old, same old, with a slightly different twist. It still boils down to, "how come he gets to list such-and-such, but my auctions were ended? "

RB, you seem like a nice guy. I hoped when you got reinstated that you would be able to put it behind you. If it affects you to such a degree, maybe you should find another source of entertainment. You have a real obsession about this thing that is not doing you any good. If you are convinced eBay is acting unfairly, perhaps you need to find another venue.

Hey twinsoft ... this is my source of entertainment

It still boils down to, "how come he gets to list such-and-such, but my auctions were ended? "

It's a bit different. I haven't listed these types of tapes ever on eBay, and if I did, I certainly would not admit in my descriptions that they are llegal, may contain warnings, etc. And, it's not just me who has had the legitimate Emmy tapes pulled.

Finally, this is only one of the many venues I use to argue my case. I have had some successes, even at eBay. The roadblock seems to appear when powersellers get involved as eBay is extremely reluctant to do anything when these members are reported as the bad guys. I understand who butters eBay's bread, that they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them etc., but it's still not right. I thought all pigs were created equal at eBay.

Whether or not the fix is easy or even possible, I won't stop trying.

A better piece of advice for folks like you would be to simply avoid my rants

Not revenge either ... sorry fluffy.

"Revenge" suggests getting even. I have had zero dealings with this seller and wouldn't know him if I bumped into him on an elevator.

But, I notice he has edited his descriptions to take out the part about warnings on the tapes, sleeves and on-screen during play, and the reference to the fact that these are promotional and/or demos. He must have got the powerseller phone call. Funny thing is, although he is now less truthful in his description after getting the word (his descriptions are getting closer to those used by other eBay big time sellers who get away with this), his items haven't changed one iota. And he continues to list new ones ...

Clever guy not ...

I shall proceed with vigour

RB,

Simply you're wrong. As I said, auctions of mine have been shut down pronto without any special treatment, no kid gloves, poof they're gone. Being a Powerseller basically means squat as has been discussed ad naseum on this board for years. Maybe if you're a gold one or something, but the bottom PS level doesn't cut much with eBay, truly I can tell you that, Ripley, so believe it or not.

Why is it that my ebay auction & others were cancelled for a vintage item that is not allowed to be sold on ebay, when a Power Seller has the same gosh darn item and their's was not cancelled ?? !!

I am sure someone turned us in and I sent ebay an email about this PS's auction 2 days ago but never heard back, says it is under investigation ~ really ticks me off

NOT Gina50 on ebay

Okay, I'll play this silly game..

I tried to list vintage Lawn darts about a month ago (did not know they were illegal). They were pulled within 2 hours, I also got a note that basically said that if I list them again I will be kicked off Ebay for good. I did not try to relist them.
I got NO SPECIAL TREATMENT. My item was ended and that was that.

If Powersellers can get away with anything, why were my darts pulled?

Had a record for sale called "For Adults Only". The record was NOT porn and did not have a dirty word on it. The title was simply "For Adults Only".

Ebay ended that auction and told me not to relist it. I wrote to explain that it was not "For Adults Only", but they said (and I am alomst quoting) "When you say something is for adults only, we take you at your word it must be listed in the adult section. Do not relist it in the 33 catagory or you will be suspended".

Why did I get this warning? This item was clearly not what they thought it was. They never even bothered to read my ad or the email I sent.

Powersellers get perks...right..

kyms- You must have miss the the thread about the Lawn darts. Lawn darts have been band from selling in the USA. I am sure that if a Powerseller listed them they would be pulled also. They are dangerous and you are not even to sell them at flea markets or rummage sales. They were supposed to be turned back to the manuf. There were to many injuries from those horrible jarts. I think they were considered a weapon.

Sorry I didn't realize you were a powerseller and yes eBay had to pull them.

Yes, I must have missed that thread. I never even knew what Lawn Darts were until I found them at a thrift shop new in box. I Had no idea they were illegal.
But my point was that I AM held to the same rules as any other Ebayer. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

If I listed the lawn darts, they would be pulled. If I listed them again, I would be suspended.

If a powerseller listed the lawn darts, they would be pulled. If that powerseller listed them again, s/he would get a nice phone call from eBay asking him/her to stop listing them.

C'mon you guys ... we know this is fact!

Kyms-I reread your post and realized you were a powerseller as some of us do I skimmed over your post. But eBay didn't have a choice in the lawn darts they had to pull them. That was quite a thread. It was about a college student who sells on ebay for her money and she wanted to know how to list them without putting in the word lawn dart or jart because I think she knew they were illegal, although she said she didn't, and she knew she would get a good sum for them. By the time the thread was done she was toast...
If you know what I mean....
