In each and everyone of my auctions I have the following text:

About Feedback: Once payment is received, your part of the bargain is complete.
As far as I am concerned, your only obligation is to pay for your winning bid.
I do not believe in holding feedback for ransom. Once you pay, I leave feedback!

I have lived by this rule for 5 years now and yes, I have received a few negs with this policy but is far outweighed by the many comments I receive from bidders regarding the statement. I am confident that this statement has also increased my bids and final values.

THE NEVER ENDING STORY....EVERY SELLER IS DIFFERENT, BUT IF YOU ARE A NEWBIE SELLER WITH A FEEDBACK OF 0; THEN YOU MAY WANT TO LEAVE FEEDBACK FIRST, BECUASE IF I WAS YOUR BUYER, YOU'D STILL BE 0.

I CAN SEE IF YOU ARE A SELLER THAT SELLS QUESTIONABLE, LOW-QUALITY ITEMS, WHERE NEEDING TO WAIT ON GIVING THAT RETALIATORY NEG MIGHT BE IN ORDER, WAITING FOR THE BUYER TO LEAVE FEEDBACK FIRST.

AIN'T LIFE GRAND...

You think people are bidding on your auctions for the feedback?!?!?!

Right. Sure.

I am a seller with a feedback rating of 848 and no negs or neutrals. I leave feedback first through AW when an item is shipped.

I have considered leaving feedback after the buyer does but it brings up a management problem. How do I correlate feedback left with auctions? I run over 200 auctions a week right now. Some feedback is left by the buyer months after an auction ends.

If AW was able to correlate feedback receieved with auctions then more of us might leave feedback after the buyer. If there was a Post Sale option titled "Feedback to respond to" or "Buyer has left feedback and you haven't" it would make management of post-buyer feedback easier.
