Shop4shoes, I usually sell non-fiction, especially books published in Hawaii. But, I am an avid mystery reader and just acquired about 70 hardcovers. Some of them are going up in lots tomorrow. 10-day auctions, so I'll have time to read a few. Hopefully I'll get slow payers, then I can read more. But, if you have any particular authors or titles in mind, I can cull them out for you.
Saturday I expect to get a ton of paperback romances, and hopefully some sci-fi. There are two library sales that I plan to hit. Send me your wish list and I'll look for you.
My 10-year old daughter is interested in bookselling (actually, the profits therefrom) and she is a genius at picking good books at the library sales. Plus, she's small enough to dive under the tables and check the boxes there. Some of the lots of children's books I'll be auctioning are her "inventory". She'll probably make more than I will this week!
I have only 25 auctions up today. My big launches will be tomorrow and Sunday. You're welcome to look, even though there's not much fiction:
But, feel free to email me your Want List. I belong to a few bookselling groups and if I don't have it, one of my colleagues will. There are a lot of great booksellers out there. That's why guys like your recent seller make me mad.

Good luck in getting the neg removed, but even if they don't, maybe the knowledge that the postal inspectors are crawling up his derriere will comfort you.

Shop4shoes: Thanks. I'll add Signet and Zebra Regency romances to my "look for" list. I can't wait for Saturday, as I've heard about a third sale that day. Three library sales in one day is my idea of Heaven!

Ah ... first Regency romance to feature a hooker as the lead character ... gotta love it!
One of the highlights of my trip to England was a visit to Bath, where we saw the assembly hall and pump room, along with an awesome display of authentic Regency costumes.

I have a few regular customers that are hookers. Some are street-walkers and others are very high-class. They ALL spend lots of money. They are all very nice.
Most of them are very open about what they do. A couple of them are so beautiful, I want to rip their faces to shreds. Most of them are very smart also.
There is one that is my favorite. She is about the trashiest street-walker on this planet. She chain smokes, she has a mullet hair cut and has been known to scratch her a** in public. She is a laugh out loud riot. She says and does the funniest things.
She has what she calls her "registry" at my stores. She comes in find the things that she likes. She leaves the sizes and colors that she wants. Normally within 24 hours some guy will come in and buy the stuff for her. If a guy doesn't she will come and get it for herself.
We just can't figure out what she is doing with the stuff she buys. She wears shabby jeans mainly. Sometimes a really skanky mini-dress. Everything she gets from us is beautiful and very tasteful. Dresses by Mica, Bisou-Bisou and Morgan De Toi. Solo Paris and French Connection pants...she has us stumped.

In my younger days, I actually made a nice chunk of change making jewelry for dancers in three local strip clubs. Talk about gorgeous - some of these women were pure centerfold material and for the most part, heartbreakingly sweet-natured. I also loved them because they always wanted the best and didn't care how much it cost ... and many of them had exquisite taste. For the "working" jewelry, however, it was flash, trash and glitter all the way (and earrings long enough to swing but not long enough to hit them in the eyes or teeth when they were shaking their ... um ... moneymakers.)

shop4shoes,
I can totally empathize with you. Thing is, is the $6 worth all the fret it is causing you? I know, I know, it's the principle -
Pay the post office, neg the guy (being sure to state only the facts), and stop letting him continue to screw you.
If the seller is too stupid to realize that refunding you the $6 (call it the price of goodwill) is worth ten or one hundred times that amount in positive eBay feedback, your repeat business, and your referral business, hey - let his fate be what it will be.
He's screwed anyways, as anybody who is "cheating" - in this case, mis-using USPS supplies, even if they are not caught, man, it's bad karma - he'll get his just due - leave it to the universe, it'll balance itself out.
