The way the caps lock was utilized looked very much like a way to deliver an insult IMO; but as mentioned in the moderator's corner, guess it depends on who the poster, or who the moderator, is. What bothers me more than the fact that it was done, is the way the moderator chose to deal with it.

Precisely, cariad. Especially in light of the fact that the previous word typed "NRA" was done in capital letters, yet it is automatically assumed by the moderator that an insult of some sort was intended, rather than perhaps the poster neglected to release the cap lock in his haste to type a response. It's absolutely ridiculous, and getting tiresome I might add. Uh Oh. "Tiresome". I think that word is on the short list of "moderatable" offenses.

well see Katy,
that is the problem with moderation...I assumed the opposite, that it was left on deliberately, cause it was just too much of a coincidence precisely where the caps lock ended. And I felt that in fact, the moderator let the poster skate, whereas another poster may have gotten an informal........but then again......I'm just one of the clueless, I guess.

Churlish discussion of moderation policy, don't you think, caraid? Or were you talking about John Ashcroft?

I was at the grocery store while Bush was being annointed so I
missed your question.

I believe that White's testimony reveals a fear of something...
loss of life, loss of career maybe. Because Ashcroft is a racist,
there are many people who believe that his attack on White was
racially motivated. Some think that abortion was the issue. Ashcroft
claims that the death penalty and crime is the issue.
Whatever, I don't feel that White rose to the occasion to crucify
Ashcroft as Ashcroft had publicly crucified him.

I don't agree that Kennedy is a fool....just my opinion.

I agree that Feinstein did a fine job. I just wish that every
Democrat had made the same attempt that she and Kennedy did so
well to discredit Ashcroft.

I edited the post that you were questioning.
Of course, I didn't mean that White was
afraid of being a victim of the clan.
I had written a longer post and when I
removed a part of it, I failed to remove
that sentence.

Thanks for letting me know!

I know sometimes I'm a little nuts but
hopefully not that crazy.

Tonight on Larry King, Sally Quinn spectulated that Ashcroft might have been selected by the Bush strategists to deflect some of the criticism away from Bush, as well as giving a nod to the radical right supporters, and further spectulated that such appointees don't usually last long. It'll be interesting to see how Bush juggles everything the next four years.
