[i]So does this mean we can have 9 day auctions for the price of a 7 day?? If we revise our 10 day auction to a 7 day 12 hours before they close...we get our dime back???? That would be cool.

If you ever choose the 10 day option you get charged the dime. Jack got the dime refunded when he shorted the duration from the 10 days to a shorter duration. There are no 9 day duration options. A seller can toggle between the various duration choices as long as they have not been exceeded. The price can be changed as well.

I went looking to revise my eBay auction times -- their revise page did not give me the option to change duration? Is there a trick to this? (I am sure there has to be!) Help help!

bonval,
I believe you can only do it if there is more than 12 hours left on the auction and you cant do it if it has any bids.
Its enough trouble doing it straight for me. It all sounds so complicated for a couple of dimes. (Unless you list mega volumn, which I dont so I am outta this one...)

Many sellers list a bunch of stuff with 7 day durations and when it gets close to the 12 hour mark they check for any bids. Any auctions without a bid can get extended to 10 days for an extra dime.
To change the duration through ebay ( I don't know about Vendio ) you hit REVISE AUCTION on the auction you want to revise and scroll down to PICTURES & DETAILS section and click that hyperlink on the right side. DURANTION, QUANITY, and STARTING PRICE will all have green asterisks by their boxes. The duration box has a clickable drop down menu of durations.

Just as an experiment, I tried listing several items in 3-day auctions - after the 3rd day minus 12 hours only one had bids. I extended the rest to 10 day auctions that are ending today...no bids til..you guessed it..yesterday (9 days)...i think I will stick to my usual 7 day format and extend some "special" auctions to 10 days.

Here is my theory, I believe that most buyers view auctions ending first so I start out with 3 day auctions and at T minus 12 hours I move up to the 5 day and then to the 7 day and then on to the 10. this should keep me near the top of the list. Help me out will this work?

Good theory..I was wondering too how long an auction will stay in the "ending today" search sort if it is extended...does the revision change the "ending today" immediately or does it take 2-3 hours - does anyone know?
